According to IMDB's trivia page for Natural Born Killers, Richardson said the script brought up bad memories from his childhood caused insomnia during the shoot.
+pitwontstop I mean RR worked on Salvador, I heard from Stones comments that woods was crazy on that shoot, everyone was HIGH on coke! I mean then RR worked with stone all through the 80s, I mean the crazy times being in show business.. with stone. he probably endured a shit load of heat from stone. then the paranoia and the moods, the pressure, all young and with egos.. that comment saying Stone is crazy..LOL but still he worked with stone right up till U TURN. but that was the same movie Sean PENN and stone had tension on .. I guess that movie was like it for RR.
+Amelia C They probably urged him to ask the question in that fashion. Just like if there was a black cinematographer there, they would ask him, " As an African American in a white dominated industry.."
+Diogo Azevedo I know, and I undestand that he is very private person, but ever since The Revenant he have in a few interviews, a little bit more than ussual, and yeah, I undestand that he doesn't do a lot of interviews but still men, tell me that you wouldn't love seen Lubezki, Deakins and Richardson talk about anything.?
+Tobias Nilsson THR could make in some way an 5 min interview with Lubezki, por example. They could work it out in some way to bring Lubezki and Deakins into this type of interviews, cause both have very uniques ideas of film vs digital, or the way how they shoot certain scenes in they films (The Revenant and Sicario). So, to me, how I see it is that THR didn't try to contact them, or unless Deakins (knowing that Lubezki is a private person) to be in this "Close Up". At least to me.
i just watched the danish girl...omg!!! the color is just crazzzzy!!!! the symmetry too,ohh boi the cinematography in that movie literally gave me life! the best cinematography this year for me
I don't know if it's the way the roundtable is edited, or the way the questions are written, but Galloway needs to be replaced. I've seen tons of these now, and the interruptions and bad questions just really make him look like an ass. Otherwise I love these full videos, please just get someone else in there.
That round table is very diverse . Those professionals come from different parts of the world and bring their background and own cultural vision and know-how to Hollywood. I think it 's very nice... What do you think about it?
Dominated? Okay I understand there aren't near as many women working in the camera department, but its not like the men are holding scripts over the heads of women cinematographers like they're militarily occupying the job title.
Are the people from THR reading the comments? Can someone just not allow Galloway interview great people? All the roundtables would be so much better without him.
I guess Alwin gave up long ago trying to correct folk from mispronouncing his name. German 'w' is an American 'v'. Hey, Galloway and cohort, think: chipmunks.
Coloring of digital movies looks really unnatural. Go back and look at the coloring in a low budget movie like "El Mariachi". Look at "Fury Road" or "Lady Bird". Lovely movies, but the coloring is not good. She has eyes of a mutant in some of the inside the car scenes. The green plants inside the fortress in Mad Max? ugh. I miss that natural color of skin tones, clothing etc in film..*rant over*
Robert Richardson on working with Oliver Stone "I nearly died a couple of times" [...] *no follow up question* -_-
I paused the video just to come to the comments and say this.. Unbelievable.
According to IMDB's trivia page for Natural Born Killers, Richardson said the script brought up bad memories from his childhood caused insomnia during the shoot.
+pitwontstop Twice. Not just once, he mentioned it twice, and both times nobody asked.

Good for Mandy Walker for saying she does not see herself as a "woman" cinematographer, but merely a cinematographer. Kudos to her.
I hate questions that start with "AS A WOMAN..."
+Amelia C yeah, becomes a bit tired...
+Amelia C They probably urged him to ask the question in that fashion. Just like if there was a black cinematographer there, they would ask him, " As an African American in a white dominated industry.."
Hollywood can't go half an hour without their political stir ups
As a woman, why do you feel that way?
We all do. Same goes for "as a black man" bla bla. Leftists are the fault here
No Lubezki? No Deakins? C'mon THR! at least you guys gives us Robert Richardson.
Schedules have to work together
+jasmine agina I know, but still men, I would love to see those 3 giants (Lubezki, Deakins and Richardson) talk about anything.
+Gustavo R. Rojas B. Chivo is a very private person, he usually doesn't do interviews

Robert Richardson, "I almost died..." and no follow up questions?? 😧
And Lubezki? What the fuck!
He´s the best DP of our time!
i just watched the danish girl...omg!!! the color is just crazzzzy!!!! the symmetry too,ohh boi the cinematography in that movie literally gave me life! the best cinematography this year for me
I bet the camera guy on this shoot was nervous.
Hey THR, Could you do a VFX Supervisor Roundtable?
And, wouldn't it also be interesting to watch an Editors Roundtable?
Great roundtable

It's just Galloway, there's nothing wrong with the actual roundtable.
Stop whining
That round table is very diverse . Those professionals come from different parts of the world and bring their background and own cultural vision and know-how to Hollywood. I think it 's very nice... What do you think about it?
John Wick won a cinematography oscar for La La Land
arghhhh where is the composer roundtable!!!!
No Roger Deakins? What the fuck.
+Tomás Medero
yeah, but he was on last year..
Dominated? Okay I understand there aren't near as many women working in the camera department, but its not like the men are holding scripts over the heads of women cinematographers like they're militarily occupying the job title.

I disagree
Danny Cohen kind of sounds like Tim Roth.

where is chivo

Walking off a job is cowardice. Not inspired by the comment. Hope he was a kid because no professional should quit unless under abusive conditions.
