after season finale, its more like will Jamie forgive callie. Also callie passed the bar thank god. Gosh i just talked to her like she is an actual person
Here we go again. Callie can never truly be happy with anyone or anything for too long. She needs serious help and a psychologist. It's not Jamie's fault he can't change the law and Callie can't, either. She really needs to be focusing on passing the bar and stop being so childish.
Callie seriously needs to grow up!!! . She can’t expect the law to change because she simply wants it to. Jamie is being a big help by being on the case , and trying to make things right. Callie is not even a real lawyer yet, so it would be pointless for her to get involved.
Yes, I agree. A good lawyer cant build his debates and arguments of a emotions and whats morally right but more so on whats legally right. Callie isnt mature enough to realize that in the end, factual arguments are always more admirable by judges than opinionative arguments
Callie needs to stop she is literally self sabotaging her relationship and job. Callie should know things develop short notice and loop holes can be found. As for the conflict of interest she was already out the case and managed to insert herself in again. What she needs to do is focus on passing the bar.
I don't think Callie knows how to not self-sabotage. It was an issue her entire time on the Fosters and it won't magically go away because she's now grown. Which is sadly, very true to life.
Ya know... I feel like when we were first introduced to Jamie it was alluded that he would fill this "good guy" role to later be the villain... but I genuinely think he's a great guy who cares for Callie and like everyone, can't control 100% of things aka the world and other people's decisions. He's fair, apologizes, has not only said but SHOWN how growth oriented he is. I think he's great for Callie and I'm going to be incredibly disappointed in the show if Callie and him are not together because I feel like when they are, Callie is in a way, forced to mature and not be "impulsive". Jamie is a great balance and encourager for her without shaming her for her choices, mistakes, or past. THAT in and of itself is a great quality to have in a partner. Plus, I appreciate how he doesn't bulldoze her and how he allows her to express her unfiltered thoughts/ feelings without manipulating, gaslighting, or coercing her to adapt his thoughts and feelings. I understand we all have various journeys and learn/ grow in different capacities, but the writers are providing mixed messaging and at times it's like they're developing Callie into two drastically different people which is not only difficult to watch, but annoying because we've been here a million times before. Callie, like all people, don't repeat the exact same situation twice even when the same choices are made- yet this feels like the same thing over and over again. I'm hoping we see more growth from the writers and Callie's story in season 3. I'm curious to see if they break Callie and Jamie up for good and what Callie does to stop self sabotaging her life. I love how the writers have fleshed out how much she cares about others, but I feel like it's against all that she is by procrastinating SO hard with studying for the bar. Maybe that's an arch they're exploring in season 3? Regardless, I hope we see Callie's active growth or it's pointed out more that she's self-sabotaging so her journey is more realistic with humanity and how our stories and struggles differ/ play out. Lastly, anyone else SO tired of the writers having Callie jump to conclusions about what her future would look like with Jamie and coming up with all these scenarios, instead of having them discuss it? I hate how they go back and forth with how they're communicating. They've written a solid relationship and it seems lazy that they're not working with all of the components they've spent time crafting and introducing us to.
She really is the worst character this season. The first one it was fine but now I don't even know what she's doing anymore and I loved her in the fosters.
I can understand Callie's POV. Some careers are intense and very much a part of a person's structure; lawyers, healthcare workers, veterinarians, military, and teachers to name a few. I once had to distance myself from a long time friendship (I'm a nurse and he's a doctor). He lacked empathy for patients and often complained about even patients who were dying. I was like who is this person? I never saw this side of him. I lost respect. Some things are just too personal to overlook. I just think the writers screwed things up by making Callie's character constantly run away or get upset that when it was a legitimate reason no one really cared anymore. I wish Callie's character was more mature, but I don't blame her on this one. Jamie should have told her what was going down and she shouldn't have snooped through his things and blind sided him. Both of them screwed up on this. What Callie's character arc is yet to learn (if ever), is that lawyers who date lawyers will often cross paths, spar, compete, and debate. At the end of the day they have to leave work at work and not take things personal and have respect or else they are doomed to judge one another and fail.
Completely agree with you that her POV is relevant and relatable/ understandable. I do appreciate how we were shown both sides and how both can be understood. What I didn't like was her snooping through his files. That felt too far for me. Even if you ARE disagreeing with your parter/ loved one's opinion, going out of the way to insert yourself into something you and the other person have placed boundaries around to preserve individual mental and emotional boundaries and the relationship's boundaries was so jarring. I feel like Callie expects her loved ones to cater for her and make sacrifices, yet when it's her turn to show up for them in a more challenging way, she bails and turns it back to her which is hard to watch. ALL relationships take work and at times require sacrifices of some sort. 100% agree with you that they have to set more firm boundaries and IMPLEMENT them by not letting their work eclipse their home lives/ relationship.
am i the only one who actually likes Callie, like she might always find a way to get mad at someone but most of the time its becuase shes passionate about the things she does and i admire that. I think Callie is a great character with a big back story, she wants people to have justice and a sense a hope which she lacked in there childhood (the fosters)
I love Callie but I think she should have (by now) changed her ways of dealing with situations into a bit more grown up ways. Cuz she's not that teenage girl anymore.
@@KB-pk5ze It appears the writers are defaulting her character to be limited in the amount of changes she makes as to not shake up her storyline too much, bad writing in TV shows will do that to characters. Ted from HIMYM is a great example. But I do think at the core of Callie is a hurt child and she's bound to make the same, endless mistakes because she doesn't know how not to.
I like her, I feel like the writers have dropped the ball A LOT with the writing and we're seeing the exact same thing over and over again and there's no progression- either positively or negatively impacting her. Her character just seems like it's been on the back burner and then the writers go "oh, let's erm.. idk let's just do something" and that how her scenes are.
I was one of those people that preferred her with him because he is just amazing, but in all honestly, she needs remain single and focus on herself for a long while. My man, Jamie deserves better.
Callie is acting so childish here. What was he going to do, through away his career for morality? He’s right about the law changing so if he had objected then nothing would have happened. He would have suffered with everyone else. What’s more if you take a step back you can see what Jamie has become. By listening to Callie, understanding and taking on her views he has tried to do the best he can in a system that doesn’t allow him much wiggle room. Smart lawyer would have seen this, a good girlfriend would also see this, that the man who loves them has changed for them because of that love. I feel sad for Jamie, he deserves better or at least a more mature Callie, who realised that human society has so twisted itself that you can’t make a choice of pure altruism and expect it to influence all around you. It needs all of us working together as a team, which is very doable, but sadly people like Callie make it so much harder to work as a team. You need the idealistic and realistic working together, one reaching the other climbing. When these two are against each other, all that happens is that we fall.
Jamie is right tho. Callie always cares about some stupid issues except what’s important in front of her, her relationship. When will she ever learn. She blew it with Brandon and now wants to blow it with Jamie. What’s wrong with this girl omg. Can you guys just fix her trust issues please. Itss getting so annoying
Callie used to be my favourite character in the first seasons of the fosters, but now I honestly wish this show was about Mariana and Jesus or Jude instead
They should’ve made Mariana the main character. Callie hasn’t grown up since “The Fosters”, while Mariana has the better character development, with better storylines. They should’ve just focused on Mariana, Speckulate, and the Coterie. Callie will always sabotage relationships until sees a therapist, and takes therapy seriously. Callie doesn’t deserve Jamie, he continually sacrifices for her. Why should he put his legal career on the line, when she hasn’t even begun hers? She is going to be toxic in any relationship until she will deal with her issues.
I agree with her toxic patterns. I'm really hoping the writers stop glorifying toxic behavior patterns and use this as a setup to discuss mental/emotional health and boundaries with yourself and others. I think this is a FABULOUS setup for season 3 Callie to begin therapy and actively working on herself so she can do a better job at balancing her career and helping others. She hasn't passed the bar and we haven't seen her studying. She is going to have a difficult time making the difference she wants to when she isn't doing what she needs to do, to help her get to where she wants to be in the long run. Plus, there were some healthy conversations/ mentions, encouraging her to not be impulsive and her self-sabotaging ways that can propel her into seeking professional guidance on how to keep and maintain healthy relationships in all aspects. If she continues to quit her job, fight with her sister, move out of places when she's hurt, and hurt other people because they aren't doing/saying/wanting what she does, it's going to be a long journey for her and an exhausting one. I'm hoping Jamie doesn't take Callie back right away and this is her wakeup call to deal with her lingering issues and to ACTIVELY work on them. No one is perfect or expecting Callie to be, but they are expecting her to be healthy in their relationships and put in effort. Okay, rant over. I've become too involved in a characters life today LOL!
I wish characters like Callie actually character development and weren't just angry voices of reason. Righteous fury and hardened Bravado isn't the same as power and too many people like mistake it as such. She needs to focus on getting to a level where she can change things herself.
Jamie goes against everything Callie stands for so I don’t get way people want them together. You can’t seriously think that two people who have conflicting views can make it work , the writers did well by finally breaking them up. Gael and Callie for the win
I think they have the same values, however they differ with a few views. I like the challenge and it shows a very realistic depiction of relationship (of all sorts- not just romantic), we encounter over our life. We may really care for someone who prioritizes the things we do, who is genuinely healthy, and kind, yet they share opposing views on how those values are obtained/ maintained/ upheld.
At least he tried to do the right thing. Callie should cut him some slack. It’s not like he was disagreeing
I don't think she knows how to.
Oh Lord, here we go again. Callie’s is actively looking for an excuse to get pissed off. Focus on passing the bar girl. Not yelling at sweet Jamie
