    It was a blink-and-you miss it moment, but I was happy to see the Sabaton BOS poster on a wall in the background. I listened to their music a lot when working on my mod, and getting their permission to use them on a poster was a high point, but I rarely see it used.

      Yeah I went through some of the video panning faster than I'd prefer in some areas because I didn't want it to be too long and my frame rate is really rough in that building due to size. That would be some awesome music to listen to while building though 🙂. I actually didn't know some of those signs had more backstory or really where they're from. I always figured it was a nod (and maybe it still is) to the Lyon's Pride squad from Fo3. Thank you for cluing me into that though, this is my first time hearing Sabaton's music and it's nice to know the inspiration behind the art! I also used it in one of my upcoming videos in the Covenant but I'll probably use it more now in future BoS builds.

      @@AoxyFngel If you like power metal they're an amazing band. 99% of their stuff is about war (which, as we know, never changes), but not in a "rah rah war good" way. They are metal historians, telling the stories of events, battles, people, places. They even have a RUclips channel called Sabaton History Channel, in which a historian friend of their goes over the backstory of a particular song in each episode.
      I particularly recommend the video for Bismarck (about the battleship), and for their cover of Motorhead's "1916" (battle of the Somme). And when the holidays roll around, "Christmas Truce".
      It took a while to get ahold of them (I've only used three real-world groups in the mod, and for each waited until I had permission), but eventually one of my requests filtered through to the right person, and he forwarded it to Par (one of their founding members). Turns out they're all fans of the game, and gave the go ahead to use them in the mod. Great guys, very nice people.
      Many of the signs and posters are references to something. There's a lot of pop culture in there. What's not pop culture is usually something FO lore based, or something someone specifically requested.
      The other two real-world groups included in the mod are Omnia (originally more of a folk band that did a lot of Celtic and proto-Celtic stuff, but they evolved into more of an eco-themed band), and the Reduced Shakespeare Company. With Omnia, the person I heard back was their slide didgeridoo player, who it turned out was a big fan of the game and enthusiastic about them being in the mod. For the RSC, they're non-gamers, but were very nice, and graciously allowed me to use them. I loved the idea that the RSC were living before the War, became ghouls, and have been performing their show throughout the wasteland the entire time.
      I've had a lot of health issues in the last year or two, so I haven't had much time to work on my mod, but I am working on a BOS expansion like I did with the Minutemen. As with the MM, it will have three variants. One will be a full-on reactionary religious cult (as with the most extreme factions of the BOS), one will be a "traditional" BOS (policing tech, destroying what they see as abominations [ghouls, mutants, synths, monsters], but otherwise mostly keeping to themselves), and one will be a Lyon-style benevolent group. Depending on how they're envisioned by the player, I see the canon version from FO4 as fitting into either of the first two categories.

      @@stevensauer8539 Well you're the first mod author I've gotten to interact with so I really appreciate your insight and you taking the time to visit. 🙂 I've certainly wondered about mod authors inspirations behind their work and you really nailed the Fallout aesthetic. As you can probably tell, I'm a big fan of your mod as it's really helped inspire many of the directions of my builds with livening up the atmosphere of towns/shops and factions. When I'm stuck I like to scroll through it and use it to brainstorm new directions. Definitely one of my mod shortlist favorites. It’s nice to see how passionate and thorough you are about your creations. I do like metal and I'm looking forward to exploring more about the groups you've referenced and your potential upcoming ideas. It's good you're prioritizing your health though and I hope it improves. Health always comes first. Thank you for all of your hard work and enthusiasm, and for sharing so much.

    I have not seen anyone put more thought into the space for a settler and their back ground than you. I thought Sturges place was going to have many Atom Cat items. You got me. The entire settlement is just amazing! Very well done as usual.

      Thank you so much! I was actually thinking that was a missed opportunity while recording this video. I'm always anxious recording so this was like my 12th attempt, go figure I notice the Atom Cats part on the last one. I might go back and try him in that theme though, the haircut and everything just fits.

    I've rebuilt Sanctuary many times over the years and this one is amazing. Your imagination and attention to detail is outstanding. Well done. And on a side note, you have my dog. I left him in his dog house while I went to the Glowing Sea and he was gone when I came back. I now know where he is.

      Thank you very much! I spend way too much time here and I just feel obligated to deck it out each time so it's definitely a labor of love. It's funny, I recently started using The Kuro Tab mod and it has a sign in there with a lost dog/reward image with dogmeat on it. I always think nope I'm keepin him and I'm not putting up that sign 😛 But as Mama Murphy says he's his own person, he'll choose you if he wants.

      Thank you 🙂 I'm glad you find it relaxing, I usually spend way too much time here just enjoying it. Sheffield really grew on me, I know he doesn't have a lot of voicelines but I like how upbeat he is and the side characters are just fun in this game. I have more appreciation for him too after coming across the guys needing purified water in Fo3, those little interactions are neat, or annoying to others, but I like em.

    *Another awesome build again! do you have problem with NPCs and using lifts? I build a lift to a city on the motorway on greygarden and now settlers use the lift at all. I love seeing all the green and the trees! we need more green in FO* 💪👍

    • @AoxyFngel
      @AoxyFngel  3 месяца назад

      Thank you very much! NPCs definitely don't use elevators/lifts or anything requiring buttons/switches. It's definitely more conceptual but yeah Bethesda didn't have that as an option for them. On the plus side, if your settlement is attacked and you want your belongings secure, you can put them behind a switch operated door or in a building with only elevator access and they can't get to it 😛 If you assign people to stations in buildings with only elevator access though they will typically still spawn into position either way since mats/stores are nice like that.

    • @AoxyFngel
      @AoxyFngel  3 месяца назад

      Thank you, I appreciate that! The building itself with the empty counter is part of a prefab from the HZS Office and Store buildings (Bethesda mod). It was too short and open though so I added the raised counter piece as well as the trim above on the ceiling to match with pieces from the Snappy Housekit deco set. The decorations are a mixture from 3 mods: CREAtive Clutter, Homemaker, and Do it Yourshelf Clutter.

    • @AoxyFngel
      @AoxyFngel  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@jaymess91 I would've been too nervous to try mods but my brother insisted I give them a shot and I probably never would have gotten as invested into the game without them. The vanilla build limitations were rough to me and the mods really brought a lot of quality of life changes that made it more fun to explore and build on the lore. Big game changer for me but everyone's tastes are definitely different, and that's part of what makes the settlement building so awesome. If it seems like a big hurdle, there are a lot of good tutorials of where to get started for modding on RUclips. As for 76, I definitely enjoyed what I did play but I was looking forward to the multiplayer experience and my partner backed out of it. I've heard/seen only good things about the changes/updates Bethesda has made to it over time so I've even thought about picking it up again. Whatever you get into though I hope you enjoy it 🙂 The Fallout universe and its lore is awesome.

    • @AoxyFngel
      @AoxyFngel  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@jaymess91 Thanks again, and yeah if you do try 76, my (very limited) understanding of the updates is that even if you don't get into the multiplayer aspect they've added loads of npcs, lore and quests to make it more akin to other Fallout games. Gives a great solo and sharable experience now.

      That is a really huge and interesting concept. In my current cannon events, I've primarily run with the Minutemen, so it would certainly have to be in a fresh playthrough. It's something I can keep in mind for the future but I still have a few more lined up before I start over. This concept reminds me of a really masterful BoS build I came across if you're interested in checking someone else out. The creator dmc6262 made a huge scale BoS themed castle that's stunning here at: ruclips.net/video/JbOSLR-Hv2Y/видео.html In the meantime, I do have 3 more settlements with a BoS focus coming in future videos 🙂

      I wanted to check with you if you do use any mods. If you’re on Xbox, the mod I used to restore the homes is available on Bethesda Xbox version here: mods.bethesda.net/en/fallout4/mod-detail/4040538 Combined with place anywhere, it might be possible.
      There also are repairable sanctuary mods available for ps4 that are decent options as well. Might be something you can play with if you’re interested. Though I guess many mods might break soon with the update, so caution and patience there I guess..

    Is it possible to make something like this without mods in vanilla game???

    • @AoxyFngel
      @AoxyFngel  18 дней назад

      Not something that looks closer to prewar like this, but with an open mind and patience you can restore and refortify the homes nicely.
      Without mods, the steel and wood walls are very limited so no matter how you approach that you'll have a smaller range of looks. There are however many amazing scrappy vanilla Sanctuary Hiills builds and guides out there where they dedicate a lot of work using the rug and pillar glitch to rebuild the homes. A clean one can be seen from Shawzzo, where he repaired the roofs and walls. Skooled Zone has some great individual guides on how to cleanly rebuild homes using barn/warehouse combinations. Lastly, If you want to see some of the range you can get in a much busier city type build, Orange Squeasy has an amazing no mod tour. Hope this helps

      I mentioned at the end that I've rebuild this place around 20+ times over. I actually used to play around a lot with restoring the entire settlement back to prewar buildings, even matching all the interior layouts as best as I could until I found prefab mods that made that easier. I've gradually been trying to get back to more lore friendly post war styles though, hoping to find new ways to try building soon.
