Well, the visual identity of the game is almost completely lost, in favor of a "newer" cartoon-pixel art hybrid artstyle which many modern indie games have. Follow that up with their obsession with adding real life animals to the game that serve no purpose, making updates at a turtle's speed, microtransactions on console and phone (let's face it, no one plays bedrock on pc) and you get a game that is slowly losing it's charm. The current mojang team has seemingly no idea what they are doing with the game, adding many features that are damaging or not doing anything to the gameplay. Oh they revamped the nether and made mining actually enjoyable? The people have had the game for eight freaking years and they are just barely starting to understand the principles of the game they have been updating

I remember going to opening my minecraft screen one day and hearing this music. I was in awe because of how beautiful it sounded and sat there dazed. after that, I continued to play and made the most wonderful friends on a server, some of which are still my friends today. I have a big nostalgic attraction to this song. everytime I hear it, Im still dazed like I was before. One of the things about minecraft I love the most.

I stumbled upon a great seed in the Xbox 360 version, played it again and again with my daughter, I can picture where all the rails went, where we built houses, where the villagers were, actual fond gaming memories.

I was playing Minecraft since 2018, I'm not really a veteran but this gives me nostalgia.
This song makes me bawl my eyes out every time I hear it. It always starts around 1:02 for me, when the piano just drops off into the void, like the song is a shadow of what it used to be. All the notes that used to be there in the first Moog City are gone. It reminds me that no matter what we will never be able to re-experience something for the first time. And then it just fades away, with the upbeat synth trying and failing to come back with some form of substance, until
1:15 when the second piano note hits; that’s what brings the tears to my eyes. It’s as if C418 understood the value nostalgia holds over us, it’s what brings us, and me, back to this song.
1:19 rolls around and sees that upbeat tune trying desperately to come back, and it focuses in before fading back out, like good memories, they lose value over time.
1:29 rolls around and another piano note hits, sealing that tune away. IT SOUNDS SO SAD.
But that isn’t even what really does it for me, because then
1:42 rolls around after a drag of silence, and the main piano theme of moog city plays in downcast, slow notes that hang, and I just lose it. This song really is something special, I believe that 100%. I think over anything else, it signifies loss. The loss of innocence, the loss of a friend, the loss of all those memories, the good times where responsibility was a far away concept in our lives. That’s what I take away from this song.

I started on pocket edition in 2013. I finally got a real PC account in 2014
I remember in 2012-2013 my older cousin who lives away from me showed me Minecraft pocket edition and how to use the nether reactor core. In late 2013, my dad got a PS4 and Minecraft. I still have that world. Later in Christmas 2014, I woke up to see the family computer loaded up with Minecraft 1.7. I miss those days. While I still do technically have the hard drive the world was on, the computer itself broke. Really sad, as I probably had 2000+ hours on that world. Maybe later today I’ll get the PS4 out and play some old worlds.

The random noises fade in from nothing, come together, form a tune that repeats over and over like a memory, and you hear the deep press of the piano keys and and tiny sparkling sounds in the back make it sound more pristine. It’s like a flashback of short highlights of your past playing out. I think the slowed version does it even better. C418 is an incredibly influential artist that makes all of us feel powerful emotions

Moog is actually pronounced like "mOAn," not "mOOn." The title is a reference to Bob Moog, who developed the first electronic synthesizers in the 1960s.
Bob Moog is no longer with us, but his employee-owned company is still making analog synthesizers to this day. They sound great, but they ain't cheap.

I vividly remember the feeling of being a little kid, booting up Minecraft on my PlayStation 3 after school or on the weekend with my brother or friends, and this song playing as I create a new world, play one of those adventure maps like the LittleBigPlanet or Greek Mythology ones. Playing survival and hearing all the songs, not giving them any attention at all, thinking they were kinda weird to be honest. Now I hear this and it gives me a feeling I don’t feel with anything else, almost a sense of childhood again that nothing else other than old family stuff or photos can bring me. It is not a sense of longing, its a sense of appreciation for how great my childhood was and how lucky I am as a person. Thank you Minecraft for giving me these incredible childhood memories, this is just one example but this song gives me flashbacks the hardest, it’s honestly beautiful.

Been playing minecraft for almost half my life, For some reason this is one of the ost's that really sticks. Minecraft Truly is, and always will be, the best thing that's ever happened to me.
I'm the exact same, nearly 12 years now I've played across a multitude of platforms and updates but it never seems to get old. I really do miss the old, purer version of the game - the current state is pretty good, but I really preferred the simplistic and nostalgic old days before things (in-game and in real life) got more complicated.

It's officially been 3 years since I've started playing Minecraft.
I always loved being able to hear this song when I get on Minecraft after a long day. All my worries and stress fly out the window as I prepare to make memories I'll hold happily for years.

Its been 9 years and only just now I realised that at 1:41 you can hear the pedals being pressed down on the piano, proving that its infact a real piano and not a synthethiser. Im mindblown. I always thought it was a synthethiser and not a real piano.

i hate how everyone on these minecraft songs praises them simply for the nostalgia factor and not for the composition itself. give these songs some credit guys, c418 is an incredible composer and producer, and the emotional response you get from these songs isn't simply due to nostalgia; it's baked into the song itself.
