Gold and silver will never be worthless, During SHFT, it might be hard to sell, but after SHTF (the rebuilding years), you'll be able to barter for more. Remember, during SHTF, the US dollar will be used for toilet paper or fire starter. It will never be worthless.😊

the reason some will give it value is they will think about being wealthy once things get built back up, BUT thats only if a future is in sight people will hoard wealth, many wont be able to see a future or functional society if it gets bad enough they will feel like its the end of the world...

For me the biggest advantage with gold is that it’s tax free and capital gains tax free (in the UK). It is historically one of the best assets, land being another. It also does not loose value the way fiat does.
In these times it seems one of if not the best place for people to store at least some of their wealth.

There are a lot of different scenario's to prep for. I live in Central America in the country side. Gold has no liquidity where I live. We have no way to sell our gold in my immediate area. The people do not know anything about using gold as money nor do they have the money to buy gold. It is important to have cash stashed away just in case. Also, you should pre-purchase goods you can use for an emergency. Later on, your gold will be very useful. Not necessarily in the beginning of the crisis.

Gold and Silver have been valuable throughout over 6000 years of human history. That effectively is intrinsic value. There will ALWAYS be people who have endless food and water and need somthing else to store their value in. From personal experience, if you have to flee the country then, yes, your paper money will most likely be worthless. However if you stay and stick it out, paper money will still have some value because it is still the most prevalent form of currency. Especially now that most things are paid with credit cards or electronic transfers.
After Iraq fell, the people there were still using paper "sadam" money because that was the main form of currency available to keep everyday life going.

Completely disagree. If things get to that point, nobody wants cash, maybe there isn't even any cash. Gold and silver will be the preferred method of trade, not everyone wants your 9mm ammo or your eggs but your coins can be traded again for something they do want. It's that simple, there's always a need for money.

“What does not kill me makes me stronger,” Nietzsche wrote. But hurt doesn’t make us stronger. Hurt just makes us hurt. The whole place feels like a grave. A cathedral for the dead and the fallen. The ground is littered with discarded books and magazines. A broken crack pipe has been left on a cinder block. There is a garden chair, and overturned crates and buckets. A mangled teddy bear. Death everywhere. If they were not emotionally connected to the person who has died, the body is taken outside and that night it disappears when the truly desperate come and make food of it. We have no place left to bury or hide our dead. Some have begun to inject the bodies with poisons even household bleach and posting warning signs on the bodies, this is not a deterrent, and many get sick and perish because they ignore the warning. In fact, few now spend the effort to cook the meat and simply gorge themselves on the raw flesh. It is now a rare sight to see even a deteriorated corpse unmolested in some way, worse are the sick that have not the strength or means to fend off the starving. No one moans or cries like in the beginning and every face has a vacant empty inhuman look, the eyes desperately searching wildly. Today I saw a woman eating small portions of flesh she had hidden in a child’s pencil case, it was decorated with figures from the cartoon called Toy Story, and when I saw it something in me broke, I am struggling to maintain a positive attitude and ashamed of my weakness and lack of coping skills. On a positive note, I long ago established a thriving cockroach farm in an 80-gallon fish tank stuffed with empty cardboard and egg cartons and have been very disciplined with keeping my meals small so as not to generate suspicion while maintaining my protein intake enough to function. Cockroaches are omnivores, which means they eat both plants and animals, so my day is filled looking for weeds and other insects to keep the farm going and maintain a sense of purpose. Kuru Is a Neurodegenerative Disorder That Is Passed on Through Cannibalism and many now show the symptoms of muscle twitching, loss of coordination. Other symptoms include difficulty walking, involuntary movements, behavioral and mood changes, dementia, and fatal insomnia. You can contract the disease by eating human flesh or coming into contact with open wounds or sores of someone living with it.

Tennessee and Utah I believe have made gold legal tender. Global banks have listed gold as a top tier one asset along with US Treasuries. When gold hits Jim Rickards prediction trade gold for fiat currency at the bank to obtain real estate or a business. Do not cash gold in for fiat federal reserve notes…dollars to hold. Use gold as insurance and/or to acquire real assets.

When the price rises while the dollar drops there may be more buyers than sellers trying to get out of the dollar. When the price pauses then dealers may be cash short. Another problem worth covering is when you sell gold at a high price tax reporting may be required. Do you have receipts to fend of the (t*-a-*x) man? Do you have multiple outlets to sell so you can keep the dollar amount down to avoid problem.

Any post stabilization market that forms will accept precios metals, no doubt. people are appauled at the idea of taking a chisel to their metals, it will however be necessary if you are not neck deep in junk silver lol. surely holding will never be a bad call, and im sure it will prove to have far superior buying power than any fiat currency. Also nails and tools, building materials. fluids, oils, lubricants. mechanic tools...all these will hold major value. diversify is the game. prepping is the name.

Gold is the 4d curency. It transcends time and space, it has been valuable all over Earth for all time and nothing will ever change that. Its value is not limited to a resource for trading either. Many different cultures seperated by thousands of years and tens of thousands of miles have found gold to be a spiritually significent metal. From the Ancient Egyptians, to the Aztec, to the Navajo Indians, they and many more, these people all independently found gold to have a spiritual significance and valued it very very highly.
No amount of modern currencies or economic turmoil can take away the significance gold always has and always will have. Today we live in a very odd time where even the common working man can biy gokd by saving up his wages, thatvis extremely rare in hiatory, basically unprecedented, and so i am gonna take full advantage and get as much as I can.

that happens for many things though already - the real price adjusts down to sell. And those prices adjust down big time - I see it all the time in antiques...when something is out of favor or not in demand - dealers drop prices big just to get rid of it - I'm a buyer so I find too much to buy...which to your point is an issue at times - but so far I've vacuumed up all I can find of some item...there are limits though.

Also, not Ll countries are crumbling, Russia and china will still want Gold after the dollar crashes. You'll still be able to trade Gold for the next currency the grabblers decide to create whether its digital or slave coin 2.0. You shouldn't be doing it to " make money".
