I am two weeks away from giving birth for the first time, the amount of care and support I have received already from my midwives has been incredible. I cannot wait for the life changing experience of delivering and meeting my daughter and its largely due to the care I am confident I will continue to receive until and beyond then 💗
I was just rewatching the whole series and then I see this pop up! How lovely to see the wonderful Emma at it again, and the amazing team at the hospital. So excited for this to be back!
I just love this series, Emma is such an inspirational person & a deeply caring nurse. Emma doesn't shy away from showing her emotions. I watch one every night, here in Australia.
The US needs to catch up, or should I say, go back in time?? Birth is natural. Here doctors want you to have an epidural, stay on your back and push when they tell you to. Almost every single woman can give birth naturally and have a enjoyable experience. Yes it hurts like hell! Yes you will most likely scream like you've never screamed before. But as soon as you grab your baby to put in youe chest, you forget the bad (normally). Plus healing is easier when you do it naturally. I have 5 boys, pregnant w/a girl finally! And was a surrogate twice. So 8 births! I think I have a rough understanding but so much more to learn and help other woman.
Some women do really great and I am happy that it went so well for you. There are a significant portion of women who have more problems with delivering a baby. I do totally agree that putting women on their backs to deliver makes absolutely no sense and makes those problems worse. That positioning is advantageous to the people doing the delivery.
It does make me sad to see all the mums on this show on their back for their whole labour. Sure they don’t show the whole thing but every time they cut back the mum is basically in the same position. I am praying for a much different experience this time and I have done so much reading and I am going to advocate for myself! I recommend everyone check out The Great Birth Rebellion podcast!
I think that I’m inspired because yes she’s a tv presenter but I think I see that she gained a passion for being an MCA too . Just watching this show now from the US
Privacy reasons for the babies as there was a concern for pedos on the web to capture pictures of the babies as well as babies can't consent to images of themselves being on the web. Imagine seeing your birth on the internet one day!
birthing people! love that i wonder about the people these midwives assist that don’t have the “good for tv” home lives/circumstances every time i watch an episode. obviously love watching the families they do show, but definitely curious about the others as well
Most of these moms don't want to stop sucking on the gas long enough to hold their babies when they're born. Seems like it's a bit of an addiction issue. Is this a free healthcare hospital?
not ONLY women give birth… people who are intersex (born with boys and girls parts) can have children sometimes .. even if you don’t believe in trans people intersex is a real thing that’s biological.

Why is everything blurred now ? Even the babies faces. Very disappointing.

Where is Magma? Fingers crossed, she is not the one who got COVID.
she retired
Did that woman just say "birthing person"? Wth?
❤
Did she not get the shot? If so good on her!

Birthing people? 🤦🏻♀️

Yes I thought exactly the same. We are woman. Mothers. Not birthing persons or people Ffs.
