Underperforming ? He got hurt going 100% into the wall for a catch. And both the Giants and Blue Jays offered more money to Burnes , but the taxes are so dam low in Arizona he chose there. Plus he already has a house in AZ and his wife just had their twin babies there (he said his wife was a big factor)

I really hope that happens. Honestly, I would love for him to become a superstar, not just an average player, but it might be difficult. You seem to have the clearest analysis. His shoulder injury could lead to strain on his right hip due to compensatory action. For the 2025 season, I think it would be a success if he doesn’t push too hard and just shows the ability to play a full season (of course, good performance would be great too).
10 years ago or so we saw Arron Rowand go through the wall to make a great catch. Gets back up is fine. Lee makes a great catch then is out for the season. I hope he comes back more fit less injury prone and stronger this coming Season in 2025.
