  • Rising instances of verbal attacks, harassment, and even physical assault are all issues that restaurant workers have been forced to deal with over the years. Videos of these occurrences flood our timelines so often that many are desensitized to the violence. Many of you may even remember an incident in a Philadelphia KFC involving a cashier being confronted by a customer and a manager who quickly stepped in to shut things down, which caused an uproar on social media. Nearly five years later, Denita Roseborough, the manager seen in the viral video, is stepping into The Shade Room to share her thoughts on violence against restaurant workers and her side of the story. Could violence against restaurant staff be an even bigger problem than we realized? The Shade Room investigates…
TSR Investigates explores cold cases and special interest news stories underrepresented in mainstream media.

I’ll never understand why folks disrespect ppl that are just making an honest living AND they’re the ppl that’s preparing their food. Mistakes do happen. If you can’t show compassion then cook in your own kitchen.

This is becoming outrageous, no one and I mean no one should ever experience violence at any job. It doesn’t matter where you work at. You should feel safe and protected against customers. It’s just ridiculous

Do you really want food from someone you just abused? These generations who were raised to demand what you want when you want it is why this is happening. When I was in high school working fast food, this was unheard of. The most you would get is the local bum you had to kick out of the bathroom and that was in the 90s.

“Our labor to high u gotta go home” u works so hard give them all ur energy then a customer come in with there own frustrations and try to give it to us then we have our own problems and frustrations and soon as we say something back they fire us like are u serious u finna fire me for taking up for myself for someone that only spends 1 dollar i be like bye bye i will walk out of a job with a snap of a finger i refuse to be disrespected and not have my employer have my back

There is no quality in any food anymore unless you cook it yourself. Most people making your food are too self absorbed and focused on social media or being depressed for attention instead of growing tf up and working with the cards they’re dealt and focusing on their job. Only you can change your position
