Hey all! Here is a rundown of the Dark Pit vs Dark Samus here before we get into the fight. These are their relevant feats, abilities, strategies, equipment, etc... I hope you enjoy it! _______________________________ DARK SAMUS BACKGROUND: Dark Samus was born from the fusion of the Metroid Prime and Phazon with Samus Aran's suit on an alien planet, adopting a form with a relentless drive for power. While not a clone of Samus like the villain SA-X, Dark Samus does resemble her counterpart very closely. Unlike Samus, it harbored no regard for life, using its Phazon-enhanced abilities to control, attack, and absorb energy from others to grow stronger. Ultimately, despite its formidable power and regenerative capabilities, Samus Aran defeated Dark Samus, ending its reign of terror across the universe. FEATS: Speed: Dark Samus can move at high speeds-nearly 200 miles per hour in flight-allowing it to maneuver swiftly around the battlefield. Its agility and speed enable it to dodge attacks, launch rapid assaults, and effectively position itself to exploit its enemy's weaknesses. Strength: Dark Samus has defeated Samus in a single shot. Although this was earlier in the timeline than Samus's most impressive feats we used in the Pit vs Samus episode, defeating her in one shot is still impressive. Durability: It can withstand smart bombs from Samus, which were capable of damaging Ridley. Ridley was durable enough to withstand Samus's Volt Driver, which would match the output of a nuclear bomb in a few dozen strikes. Skill: No super direct skill feats, but it can generally keep pace with Samus, a master of combat and strategy. Nothing incredibly measurable, though. EQUIPMENT & ABILITIES Phazon - Dark Samus is made 100% out of a parasite called Phazon, which might just be the most deadly substance I have personally seen in fiction. It is so dangerous and radioactive that it would kill just about anything that touches it within an instant. I can't overemphasize enough just how dangerous this stuff is. Pretty much any creature who makes physical contact with Dark Samus is dead with the first touch. Because Dark Samus knows how deadly it is, it frequently dive bombs its enemies or launches into them as a morph ball. Pure Energy - Dark Samus is made of pure energy and is untouchable by anything but specific shots that are attuned with Samus's DNA. It is arguable that being who are capable of hitting pure energy would still be able to deal damage to Dark Samus, but otherwise it is completely untouchable. Ice Blasts - These are the only non-phazon ability Dark Samus has Phazon blasts - beams or shrapnel bursts of pure phazon energy. Phazon missiles - Exactly what it sounds like Energy Barriers - These deflect projectiles Phazon spikes - These are spikes… made of phazon. What did you expect? Flight Invisibility Intangibility Teleport Healing factor - Dark Samus was able to heal back from being almost entirely destroyed. It is likely that to keep it down for good, you would need to destroy it on a molecular level. This regeneration is not a quick process and can take hours on the absolute low end. Likely not relevant in a fight scenario unless the fight must end in an absolute death. Weird interaction with stats - Alright, this isn't technically an ability, but I wanted to mention it. Unlike almost every other fight we have done, strength, speed, and durability don't factor in here like they would traditionally. Dark Samus can deflect nearly all weaponry that touches it and is impossible to hit by a huge majority of attacks, making lots of durability somewhat of a moot point. What DOES hit it needs to contend with Phazon. Any sort of physical contact is likely to kill just about any character out there. For these same reasons, speed isn't really an issue. Dark Samus can't be hit by anything incapable of damaging pure energy. So eventually, when physical attacks come in, Dark Samus is capable of passively winning the fight. Lastly, Attack Power doesn't matter very much when nothing it could output would be anything comparable to the deadliness of Phazon. Damage doesn't matter if things are already dead on contact. Anyway, I felt that was relevant to mention. Let's get on to talking about Dark Pit. DARK PIT __ BACKGROUND: Dark Pit, an unintended creation from Pit's encounter with the Mirror of Truth during a battle with Pandora, emerged as a dark counterpart to the original angel, Pit. Unlike Pit, who is devoted to the goddess Palutena, Dark Pit operates independently, guided only by his own moral compass, harboring the darker emotions and traits that Pit suppresses. Despite lacking some of Pit's acquired items, Dark Pit boasts an extensive arsenal of weapons and possesses abilities such as unlimited flight and combat enhancements, making him a formidable and highly skilled warrior in Angel Land, eventually becoming one of Pit's closest allies through shared trials and battles. FEATS: Speed: Dark Pit is statistically identical to Pit, who was able to move fast enough to pilot the Lightning Chariot. This had him moving Mach 700. Strength: Dark Pit is powerful enough to take Pit out in a single strike. Durability: Scales to Pit, who was tanky enough to survive being slammed into a barrier by the lightning chariot at max speeds… This thing is very, very fast. Skill: Keeps pace with Pit, who is a master of combat. He can consistently hold his own and has done copious amounts of training. Dark Pit is an expert marksman who specializes in and favors ranged attacks so much so that he has a sniper staff named after him. EQUIPMENT & ABILITIES There is a lot to mention here. Turn enemies into stone Cut enemy's max HP by half Automatically target an enemy's weak point Instantly kill whatever his attack touches Turn opponent into an eggplant or tempura shrimp Increase speed Automatically dodge attacks Become invisible Blind enemies Automatically counter attacks Heal from otherwise lethal attacks Become intangible Become invincible Capable of deflecting and affecting Biota blasts, which are made out of energy. Fake death Blades Staffs Bows Claws Palms Clubs Arms Orbitars Cannons And these are just some of Dark Pit's many, many abilities. ____ Explanation for the victor in the replies!
And there you go! This fight was so strange and there are reasonable arguments on both sides of this. Like Dark Samus's attack power is going to be made irrelevant by the sheer deadliness of Phazon. Dark Pit's attack power is made irrelevant by his ability to instantly kill or transmute enemy upon contact with one of his attacks. While Dark Pit took this, Dark Samus is such a threat physically that when mixed with the inability to be hit by nearly anything, it is potentially one of the most dangerous characters on the entire Smash roster. That being said, despite its power level, Dark Samus was hard counter-picked by one of the few characters in the roster capable of beating it. It was going up against one of the few characters in Smash capable of attacking beings of pure energy, like the biota, and of the few enemies who specialized in fighting long-range with a preference for projectiles. AND one of the characters who can ignore durability with ways to instantly end the fight. Dark Pit also had many abilities that gave him serious survivability from a distance: Automatically dodging attacks, healing from otherwise leathal attacks, becoming intangible, and blinding are all solid options. Not to mention that with Dark Pit being THOUSANDS of times faster than Dark Samus, it is unlikely to ever land a lethal attack on him anyway. This leaves Dark Pit in a unique position to be able to use his speed advantage to negate the deadliness of phazon. Aside from attack power being enough to overwhelm Dark Samus, all he really needs is a single shot to connect in order to put Dark Samus out of the fight. It has a healing factor, but nothing that would really be meaningful in the timeframe of a battle. Dark Pit destroying it would take Dark Samus out of the fight for hours on the absolute low end, but likely longer. Things would look a little differently if Dark Pit went for a close ranged attack rather than a ranged one, as this kind of contact would kill himself alongside Dark Samus, but while Dark Samus would eventually regenerate, Dark Pit would be left for dead. It all boils down to one question: Would Dark Pit go for a ranged attack before going for a melee attack? And when breaking it down, the answer seems to be that he WOULD go for a ranged attack first. Dark Pit specializes as a sniper and prefers to attack from a distance to the extent that he had a sniper staff named after him. While Dark Samus is powerful, Dark Pit's abilities and sheer aggression are likely to get past its defenses right off the bat, meaning that he could instantly destroy it, turn it into stone or a shrimp, or instantly kill it. When it came down to it, the winner really depends on where you fall on the primary question I posed earlier. Would Dark Pit go for the ranged attack? And given that the answer apepars to be yes, we believe that in this fight Dark Pit would manage to overcome the dangers of Phazon and emerge the winner more often than not. The winner is Dark Pit.
@@SmashBracket Dark Pit was directly hit with a Phazon beam, and was affected. I could tell he used some sort of magic to negate the effects, but which magic was it? I've played Kid Icarus Uprising, and can't seem to think of anything that would do that.
@@mattinscratch He got the stats dead wrong. He doesn't use scaling unless very explicit and it leads to stupid numbers. 200 mph Dark Samus? LMAO Dark Samus has dodged plasma and missiles from Samus both of which far exceed 200 mph.
So glad Dark Pit brought redemption to the Kid Icarus cast. But with these fights over, I can't help but wonder who's going to avenge Palutena's death.
Actually, the petrification was something she did on herself, she did it in the original gane to survive the Chaos Kin, so most likely she did the same against Byleth
I mean, considering this isn't Death Battle and how transmutation works for the Kid Icarus characters, she could still be alive albeit indisposed at the moment (?) Regardless, I don't think Pit will take too kindly to Byleth, especially with how he slashed one of the islands in half
These battles happened out of order. If Palutena lore-accurately provides Pit and Dark Pit with the capabilities of flight, then her fight with Byleth should've happened after Pit *and* Dark Pit's fights, not between them. Are we seriously just supposed to assume that the events of Pit VS Samus & Dark Pit VS Dark Samus happened before the events of Byleth VS Palutena, despite Palutena's episode occurring in the middle?
*sigh* This is what I'm going to miss most about this channel. I've never seen a versus or even a sprite battle channel have so much attention to detail especially regarding anything Metroid. The amount of love I have for the Metroid series is so perfectly reciprocated by these animations. Make a side channel where you just do Metroid animations!
Can't wait to see these battle of these two "echoes" and whether dark samus will bring a "dark" fate on pittoo or will he cause an "uprising" against said fate
I'm putting my money on Dark Pit but I won't be too surprised if he loses despite all his advantages (better overall stats, actual training, prefers attacking at distance, far more versatility and hax, has Viridi's guidance for intel and a second-opinion etc). Dark Samus only needs to land ONE phazon attack or touch him ONCE, and has plenty of hax of its own to create an opening or otherwise bait a melee attack from him.
No way! My man Real Pit won! Funny that Metroid and Kid Icarus both started with 3 contest's, and both are now only down too one. Also, it was need that rather than a full track, it was just some spooky ambiance. Also, short fight.
@@aragaminightmare9527There is no way Dark Pit would actually be powerful enough to kill Dark Samus. A planet-sized dimension collapsing onto her could not permanently destroy her in a much weaker form than her prime in MP3. Smash Bracket was wrong there
Okay, honestly, this episode was kinda a banger. I was really rooting for the Kid Icarus crew for some reason so I'm happy to see Dark Pit actually lived this fight. Reading the analysis... man, I'm glad Dark Samus and Ridley both went down round one, because in a hypothetical longer bracket they could have seriously messed up some of our favorite characters.
Oh crap, he won!!! SWEET!!!! I honestly wasn't expecting it, but I am really happy to be proven wrong. Nice, to see Dark Pit give Kid Icarus a win for Smash Bracket. Really liked the horror vibe this episode had. Really makes the episode stand out from the other episodes. Well done everyone!!!.
Honestly given Pit lost to Samus, I was ready for it to turn out that the same would happen with their Echoes. So I was surprised when DP actually won.
Would have been cool to see the remaining 13 characters not getting a fight at least get 1 vid, but the fact you got most of them is seriously impressive.
Would anyone believe me if I said that Dark Samus is weak to Phazon being shot back at her in all 3 Prime games if you count her jellyfish form? In Prime 2, she's also weak to the dark beam. Phazon is weird. Spoiler I also find it funny that a random minor Aurum enemy is responsible for a ruling that got Dark Samus eliminated by deciding that Dark Pit can hurt energy beings. I guess the fact he can melee the purely electrical Phosphora without getting electrocuted helps with the case that Pitoo can safely melee Dark Samus. That and the fact that during air battles the melee hitbox extends way past the physical weapon.
In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, she became a being of pure Phazon, one with Phaaze itself. She could only be killed by the power of constant Hyperbeam of 99% corrupted P.E.D. Suit Samus
Spoilers After the fight Pit: Whoa! Pitoo, you look like- Dark Pit: Don't finish that sentence. Pit: ... Viridi: ... Hades: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! YOU LOOK LIKE SEPHIROTH! Dark Pit: 😑 Why do I even bother? Wait- Pit, Viridi, & Dark Pit: HOW ARE YOU EVEN HERE!? Hades: Don't worry, I'm not here to fight you. I was just watching the fight. Viridi: No, we're mean how'd you get into Skyworld?! Hades: Oh, spare key. Pit, Viridi, & Pitoo: *WHAT!?* Hades: I'm kidding. I broke the door down. It was easy since Palutena is a still as a statue now.
This is giving me real Link vs Ridley flashbacks, where Pitoo's better chance at winning is turning Dark Samus into something else entirely and his more analytical fighting style compared to both Pit and his opponent might give him the edge, using the Orbitars and cannons to intercept and block the Phazon, however, Dark Samus's chaotic nature might be problematic to any plan, and any mistake might prove lethal
So a lesson for both Ridley and Dark Samus which the latter should've won by the way, when you use Phazon to corrupt and kill someone, make sure they don't have revives on hand. But yeah, not the outcome that I was expecting and I wanted Dark Samus to win this one, but easy come easy go and I take the L on this one.
To be fair, Dark Samus should have won. Dark Pit cannot output the power required to take her down at all. (Dark Samus survived a planet-sized dimensional collapse in a form much weaker than her prime)
Yea, had a feeling Dark Pit would win. Sure, Dark Samus is a copy of Samus, but this was way back in metroid prime, thus didn't get to gain alot of samus's new powers and strengths. The only adventage Dark Samus 'could' have over Dark Pit, is if any piece of her remained, allowing her to resurrect.
Samus was still hella broken back in the Prime Games; dodging beams of light and shit. This guy lowballed the shit out of DS's speed. 200 miles per hour LMAO. That's slower than a pistol round. Guy's a clown.
Good video. Even tho I'm probably a bigger Kid Icarus fan than I am a Metroid fan, I wasn't rooting for anyone going into this fight BUT I'm a little confused to how Dark Pit won. Dark Pit is a mirror of Pit while I assume Dark Samus is a clone of Samus and Samus beat Pit so how did Dark Samus lose to Dark Pit?
@@rdxdd Which is funny since he blatantly ignores space travel feats and the fact that DS was able to leave orbit by itself which is far faster than 200 mph. This guy deadass expects us to believe that DS is slower than a pistol bullet when Samus shot missiles and shit at her which are WAY faster than that.
@@rdxddCap. Dark Samus outclasses all of Samus’s later feat because she defeated her in her most powerful suits from the Prime series. Dark Samus has crazy feats too like surviving a planet-sized dimensional collapse, holding her own against Light Suit Samus (who has the power of the planet Aether within her), becoming one with Phaaze (a planet-sized organism made of pure Phazon, the most powerful energy source in the universe) and almost winning by declaring war against the Galactic Federation as well as enslaving the Space Pirates.
That's NOT how it would go canonically! Dark Samus DESTROYS Dark Pit/Pitoo canonically! I know Dark Samus is more monster than woman, but her form is still based on a woman's image. Therefore this video is not only biased but also sexist! Not to mention the fact that the logic of this series doesn't even make sense. How does Samus beat Pit, with all the armors and firepower that Pit had in Pit vs Samus, but Dark Samus, who gave even Samus trouble isn't able defeat a mere mirror copycat Pit, with CANONICALLY LESS power than Pit had in Pit vs Samus? And yes, I looked at the pinned comment! But seriously though, tell me using ONLY canon game material HOW the F&^% Dark Pit canonically beats Dark Samus, WITHOUT made up fanboy bias BS?! I know this video and likely the poll behind it was obvious made and resulted from the perspective of those who obviously never played a single Metroid Prime, let alone any Metroid game in their life, but that does NOT exactly justify the insult that is this video! If you want to go by a biased poll and be biased yourself, to the point where you make shit up like "Dark Pit is powerful enough to take Pit out in a single strike." then fine. Here's my Dark Samus headcanon. Metroid Prime, a creature that was powerful enough to nearly DESTROY Samus, in the much more powerful and much more dangerous form of Samus herself, was capable of possessing Samus' own allies, able to potentially completely DESTROY Samus from within, PERSONALLY, EMOTIONALLY, and PSYCHOLOGICALLY with more ease than even Ridley because Prime did it all while in Samus' OWN IMAGE! I mean the actual CANON FACT that Dark Samus is even more dangerous than the SA-X is enough to prove that she should've beat Dark Pit. Not saying it had be easy. But due to the bias of video and the pinned comment especially, I feel entitled to call it an easy victory for Dark Samus in my take. And this is how it'd go: Dark Samus still rips off Dark Pit's wing, but instead one, she tears off both COMPLETELY. With Dark Pit unable to fly anymore, before he can even resort to pulling out his ultimate weapon, Dark Samus blasts it out of his hands, and the Dark Pit's main weapon, the same way Dark Samus blasted at Samus in the scene of Samus' first encounter with her in Prime Echoes. Then, with Dark Pit disarmed, left helpless to do anything but to stand still, frozen from shock, Dark Samus COMPLETELY obliterates Dark Pit into nothing, as Viridi cries out to Dark Pit, crying out "NOOO!!" after failing to reach. And Dark Samus proceeds to laugh and leave the scene! Meanwhile, in my take on the Pit vs Samus, with the update from Dread, Samus becomes infused with Metroid DNA and becomes Metroid Suit Samus, and proceeds to drain Pit of all energy until there's nothing left! I love Kid Icarus, but you don't do Metroid dirty like that! EVER! Kid Icarus may have less games. But that doesn't justify this level and extent of bias. At least consider removing "Canonically" from the title of your series since not of all of your videos in that series are even remotely anywhere near how those fights would go "canonically". Especially NOT this one! Because if we're talking canon, Dark Samus should've won HANDS DOWN! Finally, do NOT even DARE get me started on the controversial Metroid timeline topic, because while it was acknowledged that Dark Samus was able to take Samus in one shot in Prime 3, it's wrong to regard to a timeline is not only no longer true, but never actually was LOGICALLY to begin with. At least, not since Prime Corruption. Also, Samus is actually stronger in the Prime games than she is in Super Metroid and dare I say, Other M. While, in Fusion, Samus was actually weaker in terms of defense due to being more vulnerable. Though she is powerful again in Dread, especially by the end. I mean, in Prime 1, right off the bat, she takes out mutated Space Pirates that are MUCH STRONGER than the tough ones in ANY of the 2D Metroid games with the ease simple Power Beam blasts! And lets not forget that Ridley as we know him from Metroid 1 / Zero Mission, Samus Returns, and Super is pretty long gone, even in Prime 1, with Meta Ridley, a much more transformed Ridley than even Proteus Ridley. While Omega Ridley is the far most mutated and transformed version of Ridley ever! I know Ridley regenerates, but the state he was in Prime 3 especially is IMPOSSIBLE to come back from. If he ever did return from that, he'd look much different from Proteus Ridley because he'd have to be a completely new Ridley, not just physically, but visually! The only thing can come after Omega is Rebirth or a new beginning. So the new form of Ridley would be Lazarus Ridley or Phoenix Ridley, NOT Proteus! Proteus is actually 2D Metroid's Meta, as Dread's "Omega Energy" is literally 2D Metroid's phazon. The latter being the second strongest reason of why Prime can NOT take place so early in 20X5. Especially when the first strongest reason is literally the confirmed FACT that the Prime games take place in 20X6, which would be AFTER all of the 2D Metroid games chronologically, if they were in the same timeline. Which, by the way, Sakamoto himself even confirmed that they're not. Also, it'd be impossible for Prime to take place games like Fusion and Dread for obvious reasons. But it's also impossible for Prime to be in-between the first two games because Phazon is literally in Dread, and Samus does not even recognize that the omega energy she used in Dread is literally phazon. If Prime happened before Dread, she would've recognized the energy, plus, it wouldn't even be there at all! That all said, is all the more reason why Dark Samus should've won, because she actually one shot normal Samus at her canonical best because Prime series Samus is actually stronger than 2D series Samus (pre-Metroid dna). I mean Prime Samus would own Diggernaut, Metroid Queen, and Proteus Ridley easily, without breaking a single sweat! This is proven by the fact that she's fought tougher bosses and tougher versions of Ridley in Prime series than anything in the 2D series, prior to Fusion and/or Dread. How on Earth would Samus get weaker suddenly in the second game? That just makes no sense! Yeah, Samus has the Spazer beam in Return(s) and Super. Plus, she's able to combine beam power manually in Super. Hell, her beam power combines automatically in Zero Mission. Does this mean that maybe Prime is actually before Zero Mission altogether because Zero Mission Samus is stronger? No. Yeah, Samus is able to fancy with her beams in 2D Metroid. But that doesn't necessarily mean that she's stronger than Prime Samus in those games. Especially when her Power Beam alone is much stronger in Prime than in the 2D games. The reason does not combine her beam power in Prime games is because she's so strong to the point that she does not need to. Prime 2 even proves this with how powerful the Light and Dark beams combined as the Annihilator Beam is. I mean, the Annihilator Beam destroys mostly everything in just barely one shot as almost every enemy is destroyed to moment the beam touches them! The beam is practically on par with the Hyper Beam from from the 2D games in terms of power. Lastly, Prime 4 is officially set in 20X9! Meaning that Prime 4 would definitely have to be after Dread. However, Samus still has the same armor from Hunters, Echoes, and Corruption. And she still has the ship from Corruption. Samus Returns is set in 20X5 and she has a version of the ship design from Prime 2. Yeah, I don't think the 2D series and Prime are in the same timeline anymore. And by 2D series, I mean, the Zero Mission and Samus Returns canon. The original versions of Metroid 1 and 2 actually do take place in the same timeline as Prime since Zebes and SR388 are mentioned in Prime 1. But SR388 is gone by then according to the Space Pirate's observatory map as it's not on there map, but they know the planet exists. So Prime 1 would have to be after even that of the original Metroid II. There's so many chronological inconsistencies between the Zero Mission / Samus Returns canon and Prime canon, it's not even funny!
I have a question @smashbracket, now that the series is coming to an end, could you tell us who you think or probably would win top 3? I’m really interested in this series!
Ink, you said that this was one of your favorite debates, due to all the non traditional aspects of a fight to discuss. What do you mean? Could you give examples?
Wow that was a close one for Dark Pit. I really thought Dark Samus would destroy him, due to the fact that she's literally a floating space virus, but I really underestimated this Hot Topic Angel.
I'm Team Dark Pit (although I love Dark Samus too), but I can't say he should've won here. Dark Samus is a whole other level of dangerous. Even the Daybreak Cannon wouldn't do it for her. She can be hit by other weaponry and is particularly weak to the Dark Beam (because she's actually born in the Light World), but Dark Pit lacks to means to actually get rid of her permanently. Dark Samus dies a total of 3 times in Prime 2; twice Samus kills her, and she just revives later through the power of Phazon. The third time Samus overloads her on Phazon (because she'd become immune to all weaponry except her own power source) to destroy her again, this time the entire Dark World version of Planet Aether collapses and implodes, ceasing to exist along with Dark Samus's particles. And then she STILL returns later in Prime 3. Realistically Dark Pit had already lost as soon as he got hit with a ton of Phazon. That stuff is so radioactive that it caused GHOSTS to go mad-that's not even a joke; Chozo Ghosts would attack Samus on sight simply because Phazon was disturbing their spirits. It's THAT bad. Dark Samus infected Samus, Rhundas, Gandrayda, and Ghor all with a single blast of Phazon, causing 3 of them to succumb to Phazon Corruption. Without the PED Suit, Samus would've done the same. It takes time for that corruption to take hold though, so that would likely happen off-screen. You could argue that Viridi could remove the Phazon from him as Goddess of Nature, but that's just a guess since she's never shown to do anything like that (or anything at all besides send Reset Bombs). Still, I love my black angel boi, I still main him to this day and I'm happy he won 🖤
I would argue the Rewind Spring was probably what actually saved Pittoo. What it can or can't reverse is a little vague, but given that it can apparently rewind a spirit back into their living body, I think it can rewind the corruption off of Pittoo.
@@nightmare3642 Yeah I suppose the Rewind Spring could work, though I agree we don't know if that's how it works, since it just sorta rewinded the loss of body parts. Theoretically it could rewind him to a point he wasn't corrupted? Cause he didn't actually LOSE any bodyparts, but yeah it might work.
@LevelUpLeo Dark Samus was shafted. I feel like they should've had her be partially vaporized, then used the opening to absorb Dark Pit. But really the fight itself was a bit slow aside from the cool vibe and the kill came out of nowhere, plus the wrong outcome. Dark Samus just has a lot more going for her, with better stats (like I predicted, they ignored her literally being as fast as Samus to have her get blitzed), Dark Pit not having 100% of Pit's arsenal, lacking the two sets of Sacred Treasures and some insta kill options, Dark Samus not hesitating before the kill, and Phazon being THE wincon of all time
@@Metawire61They didn’t “ignore” Dark Samus being just as fast as Samus, it’s that Dark Samus scaled to Samus before Samus pulled off her fastest feats. Dark Samus wouldn’t scale to feats that occurred *after* she was defeated. Dark Pit would be fast enough to blitz and while not having every instant kill option as Pit, he only needs one. Turning D Samus into a shrimp immediately gets rid of the phazon threat.
@agentglowstick8704 Samus has very little power growth across the series. The feat takes place in Samus and Joey (between Other M and Fusion, I'm pretty sure). Between that and Prime 3, she only got a boost from the baby Metroid dying, which out her from being mostly outmatched by Mother Brain to wrecking her, but had nothing to do with her speed. Even if it did and it's a 10x difference (very generous to Dark Pit), that's still mach 700 vs upscaling mach 5000.
@@agentglowstick8704 200 mph speed is legit horseshit. That's slower than a pistol round. Samus back in Prime shot at DS with missiles and plasma which are WAYYYYY faster than 200 mph.
Respectfully I disagree with the outcome, especially when Samus beat Pit and DS is essentially equal to Samus. A lot of the weaknesses attributed to DS refer to the character in Prime 2 as opposed to Prime 3, where she got a much faster and superior regenerative capability, to the point she could even regenerate from being erased from existence only a few minutes after Samus left Aether (shown by the secret ending of Prime 2). The animation was also kind of way too short to really get across what the characters can do. Overall, an admittedly not very great showing, but I hope the last few episodes can make a strong impression.
@@PinkGoldBeans6197 Between Prime 3 and Fusion Samus didn’t really grow that much stronger. If anything the best feats are in the Prime trilogy, like the light of Aether being able to sustain entire planets and recreate them on the atomic level with mass energy conversion and Samus/Dark Samus scaling, with Dark Samus growing even more powerful after that.
Hard agree. People think that Dark Samus’s weaknesses from Metroid Prime 2 are still relevant with her perfected form in Metroid Prime 3 when they just aren’t. At the beginning of MP2, she could loose against Varia Suit Samus while at the beginning of MP3, she effortlessly defeated Samus and the three most skilled bounty hunters in the galaxy at once including said Varia Suit Samus
Hey all! Here is a rundown of the Dark Pit vs Dark Samus here before we get into the fight. These are their relevant feats, abilities, strategies, equipment, etc...
I hope you enjoy it!
_______________________________
DARK SAMUS
BACKGROUND: Dark Samus was born from the fusion of the Metroid Prime and Phazon with Samus Aran's suit on an alien planet, adopting a form with a relentless drive for power.
FEATS:
Speed: Dark Samus can move at high speeds-nearly 200 miles per hour in flight-allowing it to maneuver swiftly around the battlefield.
EQUIPMENT & ABILITIES
Phazon - Dark Samus is made 100% out of a parasite called Phazon, which might just be the most deadly substance I have personally seen in fiction.
Ice Blasts - These are the only non-phazon ability Dark Samus has
Phazon blasts - beams or shrapnel bursts of pure phazon energy.
Phazon missiles - Exactly what it sounds like
Energy Barriers - These deflect projectiles
Phazon spikes - These are spikes… made of phazon. What did you expect?
Flight
Invisibility
Intangibility
Teleport
Healing factor - Dark Samus was able to heal back from being almost entirely destroyed.
DARK PIT
__
BACKGROUND: Dark Pit, an unintended creation from Pit's encounter with the Mirror of Truth during a battle with Pandora, emerged as a dark counterpart to the original angel, Pit.
FEATS:
Speed: Dark Pit is statistically identical to Pit, who was able to move fast enough to pilot the Lightning Chariot.
EQUIPMENT & ABILITIES
There is a lot to mention here.
Turn enemies into stone
Cut enemy's max HP by half
Automatically target an enemy's weak point
Instantly kill whatever his attack touches
Turn opponent into an eggplant or tempura shrimp
Increase speed
Automatically dodge attacks
Become invisible
Blind enemies
Automatically counter attacks
Heal from otherwise lethal attacks
Become intangible
Become invincible
Capable of deflecting and affecting Biota blasts, which are made out of energy.
Fake death
Blades
Staffs
Bows
Claws
Palms
Clubs
Arms
Orbitars
Cannons
And these are just some of Dark Pit's many, many abilities.

Explanation for the victor in the replies!

Woah, the voice for Dark Pit is sooooo good!!!
@@necrostar0248 I'm pretty sure that was a result of the Chaos Kin snatching her soul away but I'll be hopeful that she's ok.
I mean, considering this isn't Death Battle and how transmutation works for the Kid Icarus characters, she could still be alive albeit indisposed at the moment (?)
Regardless, I don't think Pit will take too kindly to Byleth, especially with how he slashed one of the islands in half
No one because smash bracket loves to glaze fire emblem characters
These battles happened out of order. If Palutena lore-accurately provides Pit and Dark Pit with the capabilities of flight, then her fight with Byleth should've happened after Pit *and* Dark Pit's fights, not between them. Are we seriously just supposed to assume that the events of Pit VS Samus & Dark Pit VS Dark Samus happened before the events of Byleth VS Palutena, despite Palutena's episode occurring in the middle?
Wasn't expecting Pitto to win, but I sure as hell ain't complaining

I also find it funny that a random minor Aurum enemy is responsible for a ruling that got Dark Samus eliminated by deciding that Dark Pit can hurt energy beings. I guess the fact he can melee the purely electrical Phosphora without getting electrocuted helps with the case that Pitoo can safely melee Dark Samus. That and the fact that during air battles the melee hitbox extends way past the physical weapon.

SPOILERS:
Still find it crazy that Pitto’s wing got ripped off
This is giving me real Link vs Ridley flashbacks, where Pitoo's better chance at winning is turning Dark Samus into something else entirely and his more analytical fighting style compared to both Pit and his opponent might give him the edge, using the Orbitars and cannons to intercept and block the Phazon, however, Dark Samus's chaotic nature might be problematic to any plan, and any mistake might prove lethal
MY BOYYYY HE WON!!!!!!
I did not expect dark pit to win but im happy he did

This is so awesome!
@@videogamer678 Chill, this is a non-canon fan animation.
Why do people believe this? By lore and feats, Prime series’ Samus is by far her strongest iteration.

3 days before premiere gang!!! WOOP WOOP!!!
Dark Samus doesn’t scale to some of Samus’s better feats since they take place later in the timeline
@@videogamer678Agreed. Dark Samus literally withstood the collapse of the Dark Aether dimension and survived
What did Viridi do at 2:00? Does Dark Pit have a way to survive Phazon?
It might’ve just been a standard revive instead of Viridi doing anything
And this is how it'd go:
Dark Samus still rips off Dark Pit's wing, but instead one, she tears off both COMPLETELY.
Wow, I'm surprised Dark Pit took this win! I'm glad, the Kid Icarus series needed it.

Wow that was a close one for Dark Pit. I really thought Dark Samus would destroy him, due to the fact that she's literally a floating space virus, but I really underestimated this Hot Topic Angel.
I guess he’s now a One Winged Angel.
I’ll see myself out.

I expect high expectations from dark samus I hope she won't disappoint me
@LevelUpLeo Dark Samus was shafted.
@@Metawire61 The fact that there’s a difference at all is enough for SB to not scale Dark Samus to Samus & Joey feats.
YEEEEEES LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
Oh hey didnt know you also liked smash bracket
@@LuigiXP YOOOO WHATS GOOD?
And here I though my boy was gonna die of space cancer!
DS is equal to samus before a lot of her biggest feats
@@PinkGoldBeans6197 Between Prime 3 and Fusion Samus didn’t really grow that much stronger. If anything the best feats are in the Prime trilogy, like the light of Aether being able to sustain entire planets and recreate them on the atomic level with mass energy conversion and Samus/Dark Samus scaling, with Dark Samus growing even more powerful after that.
@@PinkGoldBeans6197 Prime games Samus would clap Fusion Samus to oblivion
@@jjslider3026Prime Samus is far stronger than Fusion Samus is too. She spent most of the game being bullied by a copy of her Super Metroid Varia Suit
Happy for the Vader v Obito moment, but really need the explanation for what was different this time. I don't know either series.
