I believe they stated each member would contribute one cover song to expand this album. I believe this is Zakys song. They are letting him be lead vocalist for one of his favorites, this is meaningful to him and I'm happy the band let him do this. A7x can do anything and I'll support it, I love that they give themselves no boundaries so they can still have fun and love what they do. While everyone else is complaining I'll be rocking out to this song 🤘

It's just me, or you guys think Wackerman is doing a great job? Like, when I hear this song, sounds like Rev is playin the Drums. Of course, Rev is irrepleaceble, but Brooks is making a Great Job in the A7X, I hope he continues for a long time. A7X, greetings from Brazil, we still have good taste for music ✌

Nothing against the Rev, but Wackerman is leagues ahead of the Rev from the perspective of technical skill. The dude is able to play any rhythm. The Rev did a lot of other shit though, like sing which is also really cool.
gaylord I mean, yeah. Wackerman’s been around for long enough and is much more experienced. That’s a completely fair argument to be made.
The Rev always had that star appeal, though. Like this band was always just a group of friends having a fun time making music they liked. He very much helped tie up that neat little bow.

A little piece of heaven was written because Jimmy's brain went a million miles an hour and he came up with this crazy idea for a song and the guys liked it so they put it on an album. Its a good song unlike these one a week karaoke covers they keep coming up with. Wish they would spend more time writing their own songs and making a decent album and less time messing around covering others.

Hearing how strong ZV's vocals are here, it makes me excited how they might double up vocal duty on future tracks. Nothing can match the wild electric chaos that was Jimmy's vocal style, but much like System of a Down has this special extra depth when Darren joins in on the mic and harmonises the lead line, A7X can certainly pull off some really cool new ideas using this richer vocal toolkit.

I love all the experimentation with these past few covers. A7X has never released a bad album, not even one bad song. I think they are at they're best right now, doing whatever the fuck makes them happy. I'll always listen to Waking the Fallen and Nightmare but I love The Stage and all their recent work, it suits them perfectly.

They have always experimented. The self titled album was one big experiment. They love being different, trying different things. I wish everyone would quit bitching about them not being the same band. THEY NEVER WE'RE A SPECIFIC TYPE OF BAND. That's what makes them Avenged Sevenfold. Of course everyone has their own tastes but this is something you should know if you've been following them for very long. There is so much more to music than just limiting yourself to one style or genre. Don't get me wrong I love metal but if the world was full of the same metal songs over and over and over again it would get old. It's good to take a musical journey sometimes. The fact that Zacky is singing shows diversity. Its awesome that every one in the band gets to show their roots and love of music in general. Not as one small genre.

I really love this cover! It sounds absolutely fantastic with Zacky singing it! It's so nice to hear a song from my favourite band with someone other than Matt singing -- I mean, don't get me wrong, Matt sings absolutely perfectly with everything he sings -- It's just so unique! I've always wanted to hear Zacky sing something and now I just can't stop listening to this! Avenged Sevenfold never fails to achieve brilliance. I really hope we can hear more of Zacky singing in the future - what a beautiful voice!

Relax people this is a song/cover they like, A7X has evolved and if you don't like it nobody is forcing you to watch it
hate it or not, you can't say they are not talented individually. The progression they are having might tip them to be one of the greatest rock band of this younger century of musicians. The previous few albums, you could say were so-so-great, but not fantastic masterpiece, but The Stage got them noticed by big boys and showcases their true talent.
This takes me back 20 30 years staying at my grandmothers (RIP) house as a little boy and brings a smile to my face.. As a child you dont really appreciate the music played by elder generations until your old enough to understand the songs meanings and what went into recording with the technology that was available at those times.. good on a7x for bringing something like this back into someone such as myselfs life

This is why Avenged Sevenfold is my favorite band. They're trying new stuff and all I got to do is be rokin these songs.
I love how this is a cover of a different person's song with almost every instrument player replaced from early Avenged but they still managed to make it remind me of Streets from Sounding the Seventh Trumpet.

My Dad introduced me to Del Shannon when I was a little kid in the late 80’s and the early 90’s. My high school metal band used to cover this song back in 1997-1998. So I was really excited to hear A7X covering it.
What a killer drum beat and it's simplicity is contagious. Awesome take on an older, but goodie! Great vocals, Zacky should sing more.

I just had to find the original song before listening to this one. Learned that I have heard Del Shannon's version thanks to my dad listening to oldies. Wow! A7X really breathed new life into this song! I like that they're covering old almost forgotten songs, helps bring them back to life. Plus it's really cliché when a metal bands cover other metal songs.

I've seen so many people on so many different bands complain that, "They're changing," and what else have you. But in order to make new songs/expand your audience you have to make changes. Whether you like it or not it doesn't matter. Quit your bitching and let the fucking bands do what they want to. Their loyal fans will buy whatever they put out even if it's not their favorite thing in the world. I like their music and this band, I will keep listening to them.

It's important for a band to have fun. They love music and I bet have been wanting to do these covers for a while. Not only are these covers amazing, but they're likely to come back to the studio for their next album feeling recharged, from which we can only expect more great originals.
