In case anyone doesn't know, the 8-track version of Beast Of Burden is 54 seconds longer. But the 8-track version of Shattered is an entire minute and two seconds shorter!
Sounds strikingly identical to the tape rip I uploaded and shared elsewhere online. No worries and happy you posted it here. Pioneer H-R99 was the player I used, and they are tied for top 5 8-track decks made. They aren't the kind in grandpa's car that needed a matchbook wedged under the tape to make it work! Still not perfect, but a LOT better than you remember! Cheers!
I too waited years for this to come available since I haven't had the equipment to play my old 8-track for decades. I love this version much better with the extra lines and guitar parts. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
My first truck i bought when i was 16 back in ‘83 had an 8-track. My stereo had one too so i had several tapes. Only had Some Girls on vinyl at the time so this is so cool to hear. I remember when “Sucking in the 70’s” came out they shortened this song. A friend gave me the cassette of “Undercover” and that version of “Wanna Hold You” has a whole extra verse in it from the vinyl version i had. I have never been able to find that version since…. Maybe one day it’ll show up here, thanks !
I had “Undercover” on CD too and it did not have the extra verse. I remember the cassette that my buddy gave me was like a canadian printing of the album on tape. This was back in the 80’s in high school and somehow i remember this. Might have been the old columbia house record club where you get like 10 records/tapes for a penny when you first join back then. He knew i was a huge Stones fan and gave it too me. Ive heard some alternate extended versions of the song on you tube but they’re not the full finshed cleaned up version that was on the tape. We gotta keep searching!😂
@@DandelionPowderman very true. But in terms of guitar playing, I personally like Ron's guitar playing more. Maybe because of his connections with Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page
@@sabyasachi9184 Yep, you said it: YOU like his playing more. I love them both, personally. However, the guitar playing people will remember 50 years from now, is Keith's playing.
@Nguyên Đăng (Daniel) Ronnie is A MUCH better "player"...and probably overall better musician...Keith is a producer and writer, and I am not sure there is a better one in the rock world (Beatles are mostly pop, not rock). Keith in 1964-67 played a lot of great guitar...but he focused on being a 'support' piece in the band from 1968 to 1975....and then I think he never got better...at all...though in 1994 he played a cool beast of burden spanish style lick that i never heard him do before...I LOVE Keith, but Ronnie plays the solos because he is more fluid.....but he just plays scales like Keith...Mick Taylor, on the other hand, was playing arpeggios mixed iwth scales and had the greatest rock live sound I ever heard....up until 1990s (I think the new Allmans eclipse him now).
@ramsareit ttue... I look at it is two sides to a coin. Both contributing to one full sound. And don't forget Keys plays 80% of ALL the guitars on Let It Bleed

Finally someone did it, thank you, I've waited years for this.
Been searching forever for this....
Masterpiece
I didn't know 8-tracks could sound this good.
The original LONG Studio version in HQ Stereo! Thank you for this!

Really? Never knew that! Anyi dea if this verse was added on the CD versions, like when they expanded "Slave" on "Tattoo You"?
There's no way an 8 track tape sounds this good

👍 Thumbs Up 👍👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💯 I waited for the extended version 😃 thanks for posting 🙏🇺🇸
Best sounding 8 track rip i've heard yet.
Yeah, Miss You is an exclusive mix here too. The US 8 Track of Some Girls was fairly surprising sound-wise.
Any chance you upload The 8-track mix of Miss You?

I like this MUCH better
album cover looked like an oldie/classic on release, on purpose...
Love all of the Rollies Stones
Thanks, great job!
Thank you!
Thank you!!
Love Ronnie
Unpopular opinion - Ron Wood is better than Keith Richards.
Prove me wrong
Music is not about being "better". However, Keith has written so many more classics than Ronnie that your comparison is comedy at best :)
