An enthralling movie. In the UK back in the 70s we'd have called this a "kitchen sink". Gritty with a relatable quality. It's rare to find a movie of this depth when the demand seems to be for unfeasible violence and with flimsy plotlines. How complex it was with the "You knew!" scene with the mother if you'd care to think of it. And the charming, subtle and winning smile she gave when asking him to stay. It melted my heart, and I was preparing for the devastating rejection. Part two, perhaps?

What a waste. They could have extorted every penny from her father or got even more in civil court with a $10 video cam. And used the money to find his mom, buy a house, get educations, get her professional therapy, get a car, have kids, or even make a huge donation to abused children. Instead they punish him by telling him to stop coming around to f his own daughter? (which he won't) Were those kids really that stupid?
