I think it would be easier to get it just right by going into the automation lane and drawing a smoother line dropping the tuning down to the desired value. Just an idea...
This is sure going to be part of my bag of 'tricks' - Thanks for the video! I took the easy approach and used my trusty-dusty Effectrix VST in 'Vinyl' setting (Slope) in 'stop mode' and I was good to go ;) Keep up the good work!
I could have saved some money if i seen this.Been searching and neva came across this Tutorial.Must be new.Good job and the track you working on is FIRE!!! I was impressed.
Dope! I’m so spoiled with “The Finger” that I would have used either that or one of the performance effects. I LOVE how there are multiple ways of achieving some things, depending on what you’re doing or your preference. Thanks for sharing!
Another interesting way to add an effect with a similar intention is by using the scratcher fx at the end of the intro to bring you into the rest of the song
have exported my song, but see that the automations were not exported. Export song -> Sound I copy the tracks into my Daw and I see the automations missing in the Wav file? why and who can help me there. Language: German - Spanish - English ( Fx Performance)
Nice video, I like work around for this, its more work than recording the intro internally as a sample and using the fadeout effect , but this is a great hands on a approach and makes you more well rounded as a producer.
Is there anyway to do the automation of this effect with the hardware? I definitely feel like it would be easier turning the knob than operating with the mouse. Cheers
Draw the automation in maschine would be easier i think. If youre working with Maschine in logic try a slow down fade followed by a speed up fade, thats my trick
Once again your funkiness prevails a very useful trick and all in maschine as usual. This may be a bit off track but do you operate mainly in maschine with mixing? I find myself using a DAW like Logic after beginning mixing in Maschine, but sometimes I hate leaving Maschine to do so. Maschine just doesn't seem to able to handle the use of too many fx plugins after you start loading a few up, any advice for handling that? Much appreciated as always!
Im currently using an instrument that doesnt use the "sampler" effect under sound, it uses massive and that doesnt have the tune button and what not, any way to get around this?
I noticed in some videos your bpm isn't a solid number. I would assume this is simply because your matching the tempo of the sample but do you come across any difficulties by doing so?
+Leakbros BPM doesn't matter to anyone except you, it's all going to work out within Maschine. It's usually a weird number because I use tap tempo and don't bother to round it up/down. Plus it has the benefit of confusing people trying to tempo match your song...haha
You've gotta listen to them. Im guessing you dont know where to start with artists and all that? Much like how you know about modern music, you had to start somewhere to gain all the knowledge you have. Go listen to some Jazz, Soul, RnB etc and you'll find out more. You may even start to recognize samples that have already been used. Also there's a website called "Who Sampled" you'll find useful. Shows you loads of songs that have been sampled, or have samples, where they come from and all that. Also you don't have to sample - make your own shit using synths and instruments.
No its not illegal haha! It won't matter unless you're making money from it. Besides you're just starting out noone would give a shit if you just uploaded a song etc.
Hey Rocky, Really enjoyed the 'Acting Reel' video that you uploaded. Please tell me, what makes a big-time actor such as yourself want to troll a music production video with his poor grammar? BTW? Thanks, Shitty Producer.
Please, can you teach a course on how to lay down drums like that. Every video you do, I try to copy those patterns of kicks and snares. If i where a famous rapper i would make you my go to producer.
Just Blaze I'll keep it in mind! Haha that would be great, it's a lot of fun working with artists. The drums on this track have a bit of trap influence with the fast hi-hats and quick repeated kicks here and there
For my own usage, the best is to combine both and to use Maschine as a VST inside Ableton. I find Ableton far superior for composing, and Maschine more intuitive for beat-juggling and performing.
Man, that beat is dope!
Interesting use of Maschine - thanks for the tip
Kee Lo Glad you enjoyed!
@@Adsrsounds Agree! Where is the full song posted? would love to hear it! super cool
not so much the original, but the finished / complete edited version you did in this video
Andrew your the best and clearest tutor from ADSR by far cheers
dude... that beat is incredible
This dude pretty much showed me everything i know thank you man!

Excellent video short to the point and effective

'that beat was so hard I always wondered how to do this effect! Thank You so Much!
Nice work. Never would have thought to use that, in that way. 👌🏾👍🏾
+@globeatin Thats what i said and i just purchased Vengace TS
Great tip. Going to use it for sure.
Dope sample bro super dope.
So helpful, I was just trying to figure out how to do this effect the other day
Dope! I’m so spoiled with “The Finger” that I would have used either that or one of the performance effects. I LOVE how there are multiple ways of achieving some things, depending on what you’re doing or your preference. Thanks for sharing!
Are you sure you don't want to run us through how you made that whole track!? XD It boggles my mind!
GREAT tips! GREAT tuts as always!
Another interesting way to add an effect with a similar intention is by using the scratcher fx at the end of the intro to bring you into the rest of the song
This beat is crazy!

Very very helpful technique🙏!!!!! Thank you🙌!!!!!
this is not working for me. It wont record the tape stop.
Much respect to you man!! And thanks! We're always thinkin outside the box

Whoa. This beat is 🔥
Killer production! Where can we learn about how you assembled this mix?
Thank you!
you showed me something new with the pitch envelope wheel. the tape effect created contrast
Nice track by the way
RuggedSun 1 Thank you
Very Cool! Can you show how we can fade out at the end of a song on Maschine Studio... Thanks!
I usually copy the sample I used, paste it, add fade out and then use that at the end.
That helped a lot. Thank you as always! :)
Great video
Hello, what is the point for putting a filter on a pad? Is it for sidechaining?
Holy shit.......this is better than porn.......Bro you rock
Is there anyway to do the automation of this effect with the hardware?
I definitely feel like it would be easier turning the knob than operating with the mouse. Cheers
Which hardware unit do you have?
ADSR Music Production Tutorials i have an MK2

Cause I tried copying what you did but it didn't seem to work is there another way I have to do it?
Amazing samples are they available as a kit some where?
Can i do this with just a regular instrument in Maschine and not a sample?
THIS BEAT IS FIRE THO!!!!!!!!
Epic beat yo!
good video, thanks
what about on instruments?
How is this done on an instrument or vst such as Massive?
Glad I viewed this. So can you do this on the hardware too. And seriously who are you dude.👽
why on my mac i can't adjust the knob on the gray part. it does not move
Thanks a lot for this tutorial (" Did you finish the track sounds nice where can I hear it ?
any idea on making the chords which has the pitch tape stop effect like the one on the track sza babylon
Im currently using an instrument that doesnt use the "sampler" effect under sound, it uses massive and that doesnt have the tune button and what not, any way to get around this?
Did you try "resampling" it, or open the audio in an instance of Kontakt?
+Michael Moore Yea in Your internal fx bend you can load the Pitch Bend Fx under the group and do as he did in his video!
can you do tape stops on projects that you composed yourself or only on sample based projects?
matio mencha Any project, doesn't have to be sampled!
Can I find this beat on your soundcloud? I would like to listen to the entire track. What's the name of this beat?
id do it with a lfo tbh, sample group duplicate pad, fuck with lfo till it sounds right then change the midi note
Thank you!
What if youre trying to do it to an entire group thats not using samples. Im trying to create my own drop in my own track.
Resample the group with the internal sampler and then apply the technique in the video.
So, what effect is it that you used?
Where did you get those samples? Im such a noob when it comes to sampling... where do you find good songs to sample?
MCMeru Everywhere. Literally everywhere. Especially old stuff.
But how exactly do i come across those songs? Do i just google old songs or what? xD
You've gotta listen to them. Im guessing you dont know where to start with artists and all that? Much like how you know about modern music, you had to start somewhere to gain all the knowledge you have. Go listen to some Jazz, Soul, RnB etc and you'll find out more. Ahhh thx mate :D but btw If i sample something from a song isnt that illegal?
No its not illegal haha! It won't matter unless you're making money from it. Besides you're just starting out noone would give a shit if you just uploaded a song etc.
what song is sampled in this beat?
There is a free plugin called izotype vinyl which does all this with just a click of a button btw....
Hey Rocky,
Really enjoyed the 'Acting Reel' video that you uploaded. Please tell me, what makes a big-time actor such as yourself want to troll a music production video with his poor grammar? BTW?
Thanks,
Shitty Producer.
can you do that to a drum pattern? i attempted to do it to a repeating set of hihats and it created a different sound and didnt do the tape stop?
+Michael Moore Yeah you can apply it to any pattern, just might sound weird with stuff that isn't super melodic in nature (like hats)
how do i automate kontakt?
Bro that sample was wet, what song was it from?
Please, can you teach a course on how to lay down drums like that. Every video you do, I try to copy those patterns of kicks and snares. If i where a famous rapper i would make you my go to producer.
Just Blaze I'll keep it in mind! Haha that would be great, it's a lot of fun working with artists. The drums on this track have a bit of trap influence with the fast hi-hats and quick repeated kicks here and there
Is there a way to automate without having to use the mouse?
Indica Strain yes the controller which I’m surprised he didn’t show this method since it’s preferred
This is how you tape *Plays a dank ass beat*
ok but how do you do this on the hardware controller... I want to use my hands
hold shift and turn the knob
Great. Thank u
Dope!!
Perfect
nice!!!!
Maschine is still not able to do what Ableton does for nearly 2 decades now....
literally. Ive been realizing this quite begrudgingly as of late
Thinking about changing verry soon
For my own usage, the best is to combine both and to use Maschine as a VST inside Ableton.
I find Ableton far superior for composing, and Maschine more intuitive for beat-juggling and performing.
@@pw6002 Nice! thanks for the tip. The two work well together in your workflow?
Colby Riley
You are welcome.
Yes the workflow is nice.
Yoooo so what is this sample?
That shit bangs bro lol
Sick Fucken Beat Dude! I can hear 2pac on this track.
Good Video!
David Figueroa Appreciate the support man!
Sounds great, but its not a tape stop effect.
This like kendrick's beat!
This dude have a good stop FX ...from about 1- 28 minute : soundcloud.com/ddlofficial/dave-sparrow-oh-yeah
Andrew Chaoman
Its gotta be an easier way. Too many steps!
Seems so complicated
beats2dope
Get to the point already you made this tutorial way harder than it actually had to be.. Jesus
sample a sound of a record stopping add it in. Much easier lol
Glad I viewed this. So can you do this on the hardware too. And seriously who are you dude.👽
Dope!
