Soon as we got to "full ips glossy" I had to bail. Matte screens are so much better for production use. I think they make them that way for the initial "wow" effect when you're looking at it in the store. It's the same reason they sell low profile screens --so you can see impressive videos in the store. When you get home and start surfing the internet, you think, "It's sure filling up a lot of space on the sides with unimportant content." The ideal screen size is actually a square.
Another great tech review! (That laptop is the front-runner for updating my personal laptop, a 2017 Dell 7xxx something 2-in-1 that spends half its life in the tablet position).
2-in-1 is bit of a nice to have for a laptop but the touch screen and pen is great to have, poking at screen and signing documents is very handy. I have the 2-in-1 7000, has dedicated mx150 and plays games no worries!
Hi I know this is a very old video but I have to buy a used pc and I have a doubt about two pc's that you have tried. For the same price I am undecided between hp x360 g3 with i7-8650U 16gb ram and 256gb ssd and a Dell Latitude 7400 2 in 1 with i5-8365U 16gb ram and 256gb ssd, which one would you recommend me to get? Thank you very much.
As always, a fantastic review! Need some help with picking up a laptop - I do heavy VMWARE stuff and need atleast 16-32GB of RAM. Is this laptop better than XPS 15? I have Lenovo X1 Extreme, XPS 15 under consideration. Appreciate your support on this to choose one.
HOLY SHIT, that price tag for those specs?! Are they INSANE?! That's RIDICULOUS! You can get a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga 3rd gen i5-8350U for $1600 or less (depending on sale) with 512 GB NVME SSD, 16 GB DDR3 RAM, pen support, touchscreen, 1080p screen, a garaged recharageable pen, etc! WAY better specs for value/$! YIKES, Dell, WTF?!

If you're willing to pay $1600 for this BASE version you may as well buy a better laptop for school such as the XPS line up. If you aren't restricting yourself to Dell you can get a Surface Laptop/Pro/Book or if OS isn't a limiting factor you can buy a reliable MacBook. This laptop is mostly business oriented but with it's current specifications and price tag I personally would skip this laptop all together.
I'd skip it, too (you can get WAY better for that price!), but I'd also skip the Surfaces. They have 0-1/10 repairability/upgradability scores on iFixIt. I don't trust (modern) Macbooks either (check out Louis Rossman's channel for why). I'd go for a Lenovo, personally (in this price range, if you want a premium device (2-in-1 or not), more specifically a Thinkpad. I've heard XPSes have had awful quality control issues lately.
@@7Write4This9Heart7 that is true as well. If she's not looking for upgradability I wouldn't skip out on the surfaces though. I've owned them before up to the surface 2017 before it was stolen and I found myself using that to take notes over using my notebook but yeh if you want to upgrade later then you're pretty much stuck with what you've got. HP has some good offerings as well if you're looking for a 2-in-1 device but I agree with the Lenovo. They have been showing their presence especially in the business world. Their new Thinkpad x1 Carbon is a serious powerhouse at a much lower price than this Dell Latitude. The new LG Grams are also great laptops that are very light weight
@@RhajeemCrawford Well, that's true on the upgradability of the Surfaces, but there's also the issue where, if something fails, like the soldered on SSD, you're screwed. (Hence the iFixIt repairability score of 0-1/10.) So I, personally, don't think it's worth it, but to each his own. HPs, for me, have never had good build quality (espec in hinges) or good thermals, but again, up to the buyer. If it were me and I could get a 2-in-1, hands down, my dream comp would be the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga (3rd gen) (4th gen is coming out in June or July, but there are a ton of changes to it that a huge number of fans and I don't like, so we're going for the 3rd gen instead).
