  • An auditor shares his stress and depression. Let's dive into why that's the case and ways to cope with the workload. As a reminder, I've always recommended going into audit for 2-5 years if you plan on pursuing a career in Accounting/Controllership.

    Veteran here....from my experience The number one problem with public accounting is that partners allow the clients to impose unrealistic deadlines on them! Most of the problems/stress in an audit stem from this.

      Clients often give/have unrealistic timelines due to their own pressures

    I think a lot of people watch your videos to learn about accounting-- taking the short cut-- instead of watching your videos to enhance their learning or to confirm that they are on the right track. I majored in accounting as an undergrad and did my graduate studies in accounting. I am in accounting because I like accounting. I don't think that's norm for most people posting comments.

    Hey, quick question 🙋‍♂️, I am working for a public accountant right now and i finished school for economics and want to be able to eventually get my CPA license and have a nice educational background. Would you recommend attending a 4 year college again and receive a second degree in accounting or go to masters for either business administration or accounting oriented masters.

    • @TheFinancialController
      @TheFinancialController  2 года назад

      Masters with Accounting concentration, which should fulfill the education requirements for the CPA. Double check the education requirement for the CPA before you actually enroll

    Hey Mr. Bill! I would like to ask regarding an internship in PwC, is it possible for me (a student with middle gpa (around 2.00-2.50) to get hired at PwC). As i see their requirements require students with minimum gpa of 3.00/4.00. I am Monash Student by the way and I would be very happy to work at pwc

      Hello Yosua! I am Junior Associate in Transaction Services in EY Spain. I had gpa of 2-2.5, however I did 7 years of degrees in only 5 (got degrees in law and finance), I was top 12% of my class and had some practical experience when I received an offer from audit Deloitte.
      I recommend you stand out in more things besides your university grades.

      And before working in big4 I was team leader in the legal office of a regional commercial bank. Your gpa is not the only input, you can compensate it with other things. I hope this was helpful, you can write to me if you need it :)

      Agree with Sergio. If your GPA is on the low end, you gotta start adding either volunteer, work, courses items

    In Serbia, Auditors when auditing the business books of some companies or public institutions
    do not communicate, or very rarely only if it is necessary, with business owners or managers of public services,
    but only with the Heads of accounting or the accountants who keep the books being audited.
    So, this story about annoying the Auditor because of the client's ignorance of basic terms and knowledge of accounting documentation
    and REPORTS AT THE END OF THE BUSINESS YEAR, WHO HAVE NO IDEA WHAT DOCUMENT THE AUDITOR IS LOOKING FOR,
    seems completely surreal.
    In Serbia, the Auditor as soon as he enters the company that revise asks Please who is your Head of Accounting let him come.
