Good times. Best looking micro fj I’ve seen.

Thank you! Yeah, kind of a pet project that I think is equal parts looks and performance.

I saved this video link under “future projects”. That’s great! Thanks.

Thank you! It is an untamed behemoth for which I am I'm struggling to find the right tire size. I just threw on some Injora 58mm OttSix clones and it's better but it still binds. It either needs serious trimming or offset more. I don't want to push the width any more than it has as it still actually turns. I love the looks of it, though. And it runs pretty well. Just not quite there yet.

I’m working on a kids to Hummer build I found at a thrift store. Put it on SCX24 chassis and axles, but still wider than I want. Printed some positive offset rims and that helped some. We just need some narrow axles and smaller tires I think :)

That's a really good point to make and thanks for mentioning it. I agree, while everything pushed the offset outward, there was never anything that really narrowed things up, to be able to tuck wheels in more.
Or, additionally, really ever much that has existed for stock wheel options on a lot of builds. Everything has been like a heavy duty add-on or similar. It's a great topic to bring up.
I can see having a printer being a huge step in the direction you want to take things. I have been resistant to getting into printing, myself. A lot of guys encourage me to do it but I just don't have the interest to invest in it just yet. Someday, yes.

As an FJC owner, I love this. I’ve been wanting to do an SCX24 FJC build, likely out of the FMS or EazyRC 1/18 body. Should be about right on wider axles. Cheers!

It just had to be done. I couldn't look at it anymore and NOT figure out how it was going to work. Sofa king solid.
I've wanted that blue 1/18 with the white roof for a long time. You'll have no problem getting a set of axles and links to work for one of those. Considering this weighs 1lb 9.7oz, I'm sure a plastic hardbody would crawl like a champ. Especially if you put it on a comp chassis.

@@VermontScaleCustoms yeah, sounds like you figured out a solid mounting system for it on those sliders. Love the look, but yeah, so top heavy. Just a different kind of challenge though.
Exactly! I waited too long, I’m having a hard time finding the blue (cheaper) one. I may have to do the yellow FMS one. Still just an idea at this point…

Metal body is not my thing at all, but I just know I'm going to do it down the road anyhow 🤣
So many different flavors to try out at this scale, makes it hard to decide on what's next but certainly makes for more to love as well. Cool build brother, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the kind words! That's the beauty of using diecast are the many options. Check out 3000toys.com They have 1/24 for days over at that place. The most important thing is making sure it sits low enough so it still performs.

That was fun. Yeah, i Adjust my shocks for the weight of my rig to be halfway suspended. So when i set it down, it sits at half. Travel up or down from sitting position. So i am running my straight axles while i try to fix my portals. Even if i do, i don;t think i am putting them back on. Only thing i miss is the clearence. I got some Speed back and Wow that is FUN. Change something and it is FUN like new all over again. Hahahah

I've done LCG rigs, comp rigs, I've custom tuned shocks for days on rigs. The suspension on my TF2 was the topic of at least 3 videos a few months ago. For this one, it required something not many would do because it's so heavy. But it worked and I also did it because I didn't want it just riding fully bumped out. It needed rebound.

This thing does look pretty sweet! I wonder what it looks like with smaller tires, probably awful lol.
Those silver springs always seem to be just right for a body that isn't lexan, whether it be pot metal or some other plastic. I have Carismas on my FCX24 Blazer and again those springs are perfect.
Maybe you've done this too, but it recently dawned on me that I can take put two softer springs on one shock to effectively double the rate. I did it with stock SCX24 springs on stock shocks that I have on the rear of my flat Goblin to hold up a FlubRC Hilux body. And if you're like me, you also have a bag of 100 tangled springs to choose from as well.

Thank you! I definitely think I succeeded on the curb appeal. The next video has considerably more technical crawling in it. Nothing crazy like 60 degree climbs but some really cool stuff that lets everyone know that diecast *can* be an option if you really want it to be.
It was a challenge to see 1) if it were possible and, 2) just how good/bad it would run.
Each body mod I've done has worked out best when it's kept low on the chassis. First thing's first; interiors be gone.
I was pretty surprised that I found a use for the black springs. I was even more surprised that I had to preload them a little bit. The silvers really needed it. I only found 3 blacks or else I'd have used all four! And, yes, that's exactly the reason; An entire bin full of nightmarish entanglement!
I love running just stock springs on Carisma MSA-1E with the preload run all the way out. I use that setup on my LGRP Comp 24 truck and it's the stuff, for sure. Acts just like a late-stage bump coil.
