    I like to use my empty hay boxes to make a forage playground with toys and ripped up paper towel rolls. I toss a few pellets in and shake it up and my buns get so excited to dig through and find them 😊

      Great advice thank you!! My bunny is a baby I just got here three days ago. Is it okay to rip up paper towel rolls for a baby and put the pellets in there n Mix it up since she is little

      Yes we love paper towel/toilet paper rolls! I stuff the hay into a toilet paper roll and call it a "bunrito" haha!

    My vet advised me to give my bunny just one healthy snack only once a week to make sure she stays at her optimal weight and because too many treats can cause stasis. No fruit allowed unless it was to assist with giving medicine. Also we had to cut back her pellets (1/16 cup was too much for her) to help her lose weight, now she is perfect at 4.5 lbs. Overweight bunnies have trouble reaching their cecals and keeping themselves clean

      That is correct! I agree, only about once per week for fruit and even when you do - it's the smallest amount!

    My bunny I got from some people doesn’t see hay as food
    No matter which brand or type , he always has it in a litter box but never eats it … I also tried forage but he turns his nose away from it
    He does like pellets but I limit his due to past incidents of stasis
    So mail my he eats fresh herbs, greens and fennel
    He is 7 and I have had him for 5 years

    Thanks ! What about Sherwood free choice pellets now can we give that to them ? What is free choice ? My rabbit is picky he likes third cut . But I order the soft kind .

    • @smallpetselect
      @smallpetselect  18 дней назад

      "Free choice" means that they are receiving hay 24/7 and they always have a supply of it to munch on. I recommend giving your buns fresh hay in the morning and then again a couple handfuls at night, this way they will always have the choice to eat their hay. Pellets should only be given in moderation (about 1/8 cup per rabbit in the morning and at night) and should not always be readily available for your rabbit to eat. The same thing goes for greens/veggies - give it to them every day but only in moderation!

    The only hay my bunny will eat is alfalfa. I know that it’s not supposed to be given regularly but he literally won’t eat any other type. If I don’t give him anything else, he just doesn’t eat and his gut gets messed up. Any suggestions?

    People need to learn that carrots are the the main food of rabbits.

      😂😂😂no hay is

      Only if your rabbit is an animated character named Bugs. Otherwise, carrots have far too much sugar to be good food for buns. It's ironic that you're trying to spread misinformation like that with the name "Bunni", and I sincerely hope you don't actually have any rabbits you are responsible for.
