The thing with Serbia is that we have tons of huge houses that nobody lives in the countryside. Families used to emigrate to Austria and Germany and left their grandparents stay in those houses. Then they kept upgrading the houses thinking they will come back to live there again. Which didn't happen as generations born in EU didn't want to come back to Serbia and grandparents died in the meantime. If the village has good infrastructure and you are a digital nomad or work from home you can buy literal mansions for like 10-20k here. If you don't mind living in the countryside that is.
yeah there's some extremely secluded villages in Serbia near my moms place. Like, there's basically nothing but goats and pigs and like 200 people max. living there. And they have fibre optics internet, because the Serbian government is rebuilding the internet infrastructure. so you could get a gigantic mansion like house with 3 bathrooms, 5-6 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 living rooms and an actual gigantic piece of land for a couple thousand €. and taxes on lands like that is basically nothing (at least for foreigners) 💀
downside is: usually you don't have any big grocery stores there. Hospitals are also rather far away. You barely have any restaurants, cafés or whatever in the vicinity. It's basically you with the pigs...and fibre optic internet lmao

btw I have a similar stove thingy, you have to do the following if you want the lowest one immediately: Power button, choose which one and then instead of pressing the + button, press the - button. Alternatively you can also go + to get to 9, press it 2/3 times again so it goes to 0 and then to 1 xD

I kind like the light switch being outside the bathroom , you don’t have to open the door first then turn the light on after you can just turn it on before going in the bathroom. Only issue is someone can turn it off to mess with you.

@@RADALGANG the reason people say turn off the boiler is that before like 2010, many houses were build or equipped with a boiler right above the tub, so if the underpan that is protecting the wires from water wasnt sealing it could short. But your boiler far away from the shower so you are good I suppose. I'd still turn it off for the good measure :)

Im german and i just moved to norway and in germany my family+ my bf had a rent of 2000€ a month. It was in a high crime area, trash outaide and high immigration.
Now we have the same rent and its twice as big, ocean view, two bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, lots of space, huge kitchen + upstairs a small breakfast kitchen, big garden, nature around, 2 wood stoves, garage and unlike germany all electronics are already in the house 😅

The exposed wires in the bathroom are for an electrical heater, but today everyone puts a towel rack radiator connected to the central heating system so often the wires get left like that.
The ones in the next room are just for an outlet idk why there isnt one installed.
Also the "turn off the water heater when showering" is just boomer paranoia maybe its dangerous if your whole home is from the 1960s but anything newer than that it is totally safe.
