    Thank you so much for watching, most of my videos are time sensitive , that means I try to go places when there is a better chance of having the best views and experience. For example if I go to a seasonal waterfall and you decide to visit but when you get there it’s completely dry that’s a bummer. Same thing if I show wildflowers blooming, you visit and they are long gone!
    Right after I go hiking I post my videos as soon as possible.
    That’s why it’s very important that you subscribe and a active the notification bell so you won’t miss a thing!!

    I have lived very near here for 66 years. In 1969, there were horrendous rainstorms that were nonstop for 2 to 3 months, and Baldy Village was nearly wiped out. The whole area was under water, and overflowed the San Antonio dam, forcing residents of north Upland to evacuate. I'm SO happy to see the beauty of nature returning to Mt. Baldy Road. In high school (Claremont) we used to go up there and go skinny dipping (it was the '60s, after all), and 50 feet from the road, no one could see us. I think I'll try to make this hike, if I can. Thank you SO MUCH for this video!!!

    I live close to this trail. My family and friends have been going there for more than 20 years now. It has definitely changed. There used to be less people in these mountains. More people visit now and that is great and all but it is sad that there is whole lot more trash and graffiti. It is kinda sad to go and see it like this from what it used to be. From broken bottle to dirty diapers in the water. PLEASE PEOPLE IF YOU VISIT THIS TRAIL TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU.

    I have heard that Bears and Bobcats have been sighted a lot lately and that hikers are being cautioned about hiking. Apparently the abundance of rain from the storms has caused the wild animals to become more active in foraging for food. So glad you came out unscathed!

    • @tymirra8769
      @tymirra8769 8 месяцев назад +4

      I work up there and yes, there are many bear and some Bobbies, but i've never had an issue with them. Bear are typically in the middle of the night or at sunrise, then maybe sunset. Bobcats are middle of the day from what ive dealt with and theyre not even curious of us. they just walk away from humans. Don't worry about any of that but it is definitely wise to hike with Bear Spray when hiking near mt. baldy. Youll 99.99% never use it there but precaution is always wise.

Hiking spots were mostly word of mouth or through books. I used to love the solitude of these places but it seems like those days are over for the most part. There was graffiti back then too but not as bad... If we increased the penalties for such things guarantee it would change society for the better but we seen to be doing the exact opposite. Had a blast up there in the 80s. We'd take the water fall down with one beer in each hand the slide is perfectly safe and trying to climb back up you need to be surefooted and hang on tight to the cable one slip and you are a gonner. I was just there two months ago. Never thought I'd be watching a video of it on RUclips 🎉🎉 God bless you for sharing this beautiful Creek where I used to go once we took acid another time my brother ditched me and I had to walk home back to Chino😅

    It does steep,descent to the falls. It is also loose rocks and boulders that can break away or be dislodged by hikers or small tremors.

      @lopezexplora Just subscribed and i definitely will. Looking over your list of vids now. Just started hiking about a year ago myself. Enjoying trails from Tahoe to L.A. Been a few times maps took me to locations that weren't quite right, so it's really nice to have little details like you share to get where you're going. Been trying to help people out the same way when I review trails. Thanks again.

    I grew up in Redlands, ca during the 70s/80s.....during the HOT summer months, wed seek relief at Lytle Creek, Therman flats, Forest falls, Santa Ana river (before they built the dam in greenspot) the cold mountain water would flow free~~of course good ol Mentone Beach~~there were plenty other spots, but those were some great memories

It was nice then,there’s a spot in the rock dome that literally looks like a couch u can chill on lol

    Did this hike November 11. Had to go to the visitors center(west side of road) at Mount Baldy Village, to find a rest room. They had one that was open. Once on the hike we missed the turnoff to the falls. Nothing is marked, as how to get to the stream and falls. From this video it looks like, you would climb down rocks before you reach that steep and narrow part of trail. Since we didn't know how to find the falls, we hiked down that old road until we came to the second power plant. What should of been a 1.5 mile hike, probably became 3 miles. Also being a senior (74), I lost my balance twice on this trail. Alot of branches and bushes to navigate. When I fell the second time, it was a soft landing in a berry bush(with very, very sharp thorns). Probably a good hike if I had known when to leave the old road for the stream.

      I'm fine, and you did an excellent video of the area. I should have paid more attention to that narrow rocky area in your video. Next time I'm in that area, I'll evaluate how steep it is to the river. I still like hiking, but got a bit tired. Thanks! @@lopezexplora
