I don’t think this game will quite reach the level of the original games, but I don’t think it needs to. It just needs to capture the atmosphere and feel of the original as best it can and tell a good story. The devs have clearly put a ton of passion into the game, and I have a feeling Sarah is someone who understands Assassin’s Creed and will give us a philosophical story that has been missing since Black Flag. I’m excited!
I agree, it doesn't have to, even we aren't the same as we were 15 years ago, our expectations are also different.
And yes, you can feel the dev have at least tried to bring back the feeling of the original games without this being *exactly* like them. I guess we'll see what kind of story it's going to be, Basim is going to go through a lot of conflict!
The atmosphere and technical quality of the recent games are clearly superior to the older games. Few games can match up to the atmosphere and liveliness of Origins's Egypt. In its mechanics (especially Parkour and cutscenes) it might be inferior being a byproduct of Valhalla, but in other areas like mission design and the mechanical depth of combat imo it will be clearly superior to the older games.
@@MrHazz111I totally agree. I would argue Origins and Odyssey have better atmosphere than the original games. Say what you want about Odyssey but I think the game truly made you feel like you were exploring Classical Greece. I do think people view the older games with rose tinted glasses; I’ll be the first to say the parkour in the original games doesn’t hold up anymore. They’re clunky, slow, and the characters never wanted to move exactly the way you wanted them to during parkour
@@TBBudakOdysseys map is so repititive and big for no reason, i hated the fact i had to travel 5000m just to get to a quest. Whereas in older games u would look forward to parkouring across rooftops or in Black flag being on a ship with shantys was so much more immersive and fun.
It won't reach the atmosphere of ac1 or its realstic presentation but it looks like a fun time
Firstly, thank you so much for not using clickbait titles nor icons. Just for that I give this video a like, on top of that, your content is good, well presented and contains actual new information. Good video sir. Thank you.
Awesome video Marko! Good to hear more from you about AC Mirage! I can honestly say that the more I hear, the more exciting the game sounds! I can't wait to explore the open world and find all the unique armor sets, collectibles, etc. Baghdad looks absolutely beautiful! I seriously hope this game delivers the story and gameplay fans have been craving for so long. Can't wait to hear more!
Thank you so much! And yes, fingers crossed on the game delivering, I really hope it's going to be a success!
And don't worry, there's going to be much more info in 3 days when the game is going to be shown at Opening Night Live at gamescom!
as i see from the video and trailers Baghdad looks really big and rich, i can't wait to discover it all!
Same! It should be as big as Paris in AC Unity plus the whole wilderness area around it!
I'm getting Revelations, Damascus and Origins vibes. I dig it.
@@AccessAnimusThe surrounding area seems to be bigger than expected, I'm looking forward to it.
I'm really hyped to play as a full-fledged Hidden One, and I'm glad that the city will act as a main character again, with the NPCs and Baghdad playing off of each other. I think there's a lot of potential for some really tense moments when just free-roaming, especially since Baghdad seems to be crawling with guards and lookouts around every corner. The wanted level also adds another layer of caution, forcing the player to think like a true Assassin...
I know we’re actually an assassin lamo this is illegal
I love how they pay homage to the first game by bringing the castle of alamut. Reminds me of altair days
guy literally says they wont in the video
@@fartloudYT it’s an explorable area stupid
Seems like most NPCs in that trailer are just walking or standing around. I hope we'll also see a lot of NPCs engage in various activities across the gameworld, as was the case with Origins and Odyssey
Origins only in Odyssey there were also npc but they didn't had a day night circle and most of them just stand or walked around
How come no one has yet talked about how at 5:47 you can see a group of monks walking together just like in AC1, I wonder if we can pose with praying hands and blend in among them like we could with Altair.
Great spot
Another great informative video, i havent been so excited for an AC game since Unity! I cant wait for more, personally i would like to see more Combat gameplay from mirage as we havent seen much of it at all, hopefully at gamescom? Lets hope. Again, keep up the amazing Mirage content, definetly will be tuning in for more videos soon.
As long as it is polished and captures the same atmosphere of the original games.. It will for sure be a great addition.. Can't wait to play as a true assassin once more.
Same here Bee! I've missed playing as an assassin / hidden one too!
@@AccessAnimusit’s gonna be awesome we’re finally an assassins / hidden one I can’t wait 😅
I wish if I lived in the Abbasied caliphate times in Baghdad.
Do you? It would probably be a tougher period of time but with more natural landscape around you! And, you know, the just the birth / growth of several branches of culture and science as we know them today!
All the footage shown in these 3 dev diary videos were captured in may. I wanna see some footage from latest build that hopefully looks better. Perhaps at gamescom...
Yup! Just in 3 days there will be a new showcase of Mirage at Opening Night Live right before Gamescom!
I'm pretty curious about if Alamut castle will be in the same map as everything or it's separated like in Valhalla (Norway, England, Vinland, etc.)
As far as we know it should be a separate map - it might have been mentioned in the first interviews in September 2022. So in theory the game should have two maps, the Baghdad + Wilderness one and the Alamut one!
6:38 Social stealth opportunities traditionally aren't marked on the map (except during chase). Given that the icon shows two characters of different colors-like a person and their shadow-I wonder if it could be like a Loki memory?
I know, it does feel weird, but the same icon appeared in the gameplay trailer right after Enkidu gets hit and it was right in front of the palace, over a group of people... I think that's the icon for the "triggered" social stealth (the one where you bribe a group of people to walk in specific directions etc.), not the organic one
I'll send you a picture on Discord!
The game is set in Baghdad during the golden era of the Abbasid Caliphate, perhaps most of the historical figures here are scientists from the Abbasids.
It does seem so! Or at the very least we might meet some of them in the Abbasiyah district ⚗️
This will be a fun experience.
I love assassins creed I almost have ever single ac game bought on my ps5 can’t wait for ac mirage
Do you think we will get to access the ruins of Ctesphion? This could be buried under-neath Baghdad.
I do hope we can explore the ancient ruins of Baghdad, like we could explore the ruins of Romulus and explore the city underneath. Do you think that's possible?
I probably shouldn't be, but I'm pretty excited for this game.
I’ve played every assassins creed game and this is the first one I have pre ordered in a long time can’t wait
I can’t wait hidden blades assassins robes classic getting ac origins vibes
I think the map is going to be huge but also not huge but huge if that makes sense something probably like Unity / origins , but I lowkey wouldn’t mind have another huge AC map
The Christian Monk is not form abroad. The Coptic Christians flourished in Bagdad and the rest of the Middle East during this time.
If it has side hops, back ejects, and vaulting it would be a true return to the roots!
One of my greatest hopes/desires with this game is that we dont have to achieve full synchronization of each mission to achieve full total syncjronization!
Nah I would love the full synchronization. It put up a challenge
@@youdononeetokno 👎🏼
@@youdononeetokno exactly
I wouldn't mind a challenge without the necessity to complete it for full synch
+1 I can't get the platinum trophy in AC3 because of a bad tuned 2nd objective, that wasn't fixed by Ubi until today! 🤦♂️
I am very happy that the game is set in Baghdad an Arabic city during the golden age of Islam as a Arab + Muslim I am very happy and excited now only 3 settings I want to see that are :
1-Syria and Lebanon under the French control after WW1 and then after the independence too it will be cool.
2-Spain and Portugal when they were Andalus which was technically the movie.
3-Iceland during the Danish control which is also Vikings.
Valhalla for the third?
Ha! Nice list! I'd love to see an AC1 in WW1 pretty much anywhere to be honest.
And if I recall correctly there was a mention about going to Iceland in Valhalla's The Last Chapter. It was a mission that Eivor was meant to undertake but she didn't!
@@t55rex46no like another game better than valhalla being in Iceland but not about vikings but i said "technically vikings" cause when Iceland were under Denemark Rule it was the same time of valhalla till 1300's i think so yeah around the time there was still vikings
@@AccessAnimus oh really i didn't know that and about the Syria and Lebanon under french control cause i actually want to see how bad was the french and btw i am half syrian and half lebanese and have turkish origin :)
I am Lebanese and always wanted AC to do a game in Lebanon. Like to explore Tyre since it has a big biblical importance as well as Beirut of course
I just want it to be as good as origins
It will be
Gamescom should have mirage gameplay
Indeed it should!
I’m from Baghdad ! Can’t wait to visit my home ! It’s somewhere in karkh 😂
Ohhh nice! It's always a cool experience to have a game take place in your country (we had AC2 and Brotherhood!), let alone in your actual hometown!
I'm seeing a lot of fog and dust and I'm just hoping we don't have a situation like in Revelations, where the fog/dust completely destroyed the game's visuals. Keeping in mind that this is set in a location predominantly covered in sand, it will be very convenient for the devs to go overboard with the dust and fog and say it's for a "better atmosphere". I might be delusional, but the city looks smaller than Paris in Unity... Other than that it looks very promising and I can't wait. I think that even when they continue making games like Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla/the next one in Japan, they should still make dense, intricate cities so that the original mechanic which, made the game so interesting - parkour, is properly utilized.
🔥
Noicee , this game will live up to expectations 🔥
I hope we get the assassin contracts back
We do, they’re confirmed in the game
Games gone gold :) they should release it 👍
Can’t wait it look beautiful game I am just glad it’s not massive open world with bland and boring gameplay I beat vahlla and I didn’t like it at all but this looks way better this is what Valhalla should’ve been
Day 22 will have news, I hope at least one gameplay showing everything
Indeed! No more than three days and we’ll have more stuff to talk about!
Dedicated walk button to immerse myself on the street for PC version please 😋
Tab or caps lock I’m sure
Seems interesting
Half the battle is going to be making the main character likable. Going from Ezio to Connor, you could tell instantly who you like better. In my opinion, Basim was not very charismatic and making him the antagonist is going to make character development in this game, more critical than ever.
Where also getting more gameplay of mirage at gamecon on the 22nd of August
Yes! hopefully more combat and parkour especially as i would look to see basim take on some guards to see how fluid the combat is
Is this the final dev diary?
Yes, this should be the last one!
I just want to see gameplay without all the cuts and edits, so we can gauge a better impression of how all the systems interact.
Finally I have finished Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It took me 300 hours to complete the full game with dlcs and trophies😅. Now I am ready for Assassin's Creed Mirage. I am really excited.
Right on time!
Holy shit! To think I put 123 hours into Valhalla base game, that's so intense, good job lol
@@returnofthedjed11Valhalla is a chore to finish lol
I hope the swords and outfits are all cosmetics and dont grant benefits.
We’ll see! I still expect *some* RPG aspects to be in the game
Outfits were confirmed to have benefits and some of them are requierd to infiltrate specific areas. I'm not sure about the weapons though, but they definitely will have benefits like every post-AC1 game.
I just hope you can change appearances if that is the case I won't mind stronger and weaker weapons and outfits.
@@UltimateSwordsman45. You can change the outfits appearance as well using the costumes feature, but not sure about weapons.
@@ilovemacncheez Exactly, that should work for outfits but they haven't presented anything for what concerns weapons
