Dad was really glad to have me home, even if for a short visit only! I really enjoyed being able to drive him and Mrs Sue around for the day. Thanks for watching and commenting!
My Dad is originally from Lancaster County. I came along a little later once he had moved to Alabama. We still visit this area often as we have many family members still living there. Oh yeah! Shady Maple is one awesome smorgasbord. It would have been nice to visit there as well if we would have had the time. Thanks for watching and commenting, PhillyinthePhilippines!
It sure is. I am not a fan that much of it this time of year, but spring, summer and fall are great days usually! I am back in the area now waiting on this boogie man to go away so I can travel overseas again.
Nice view of the countryside. I like the steel wheels on that combine. We have Amish here in Iowa also and they use modern equipment, but only if mounted on steel wheels.
I think it is the more modern Mennonites that use the equipment with the steel wheels. I maybe wrong in this though. It is some interesting equipment none the less. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment Ricky!
Yvonne's sister lives in Pennsylvania, she's married to a guy called Nelson.. So this is an Amish area then Steve, am fascinated by their simple way of life, and have watched many shows on the way they live, great share mate, i enjoyed that... Carl
Carl, Do you know where in Pennsylvania she is living? This area is near the capital of Harrisburg. It is a nice area to live and visit for sure. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Hi Steve am back again, i asked Yvonne where her sister lived in Pennsylvania and she said it was in "Dunmore" no idea myself where that is mate, but am sure you will know... Carl
***** Ah, that is in the northern part of PA. Up near Scranton. We were in the lower part of the State. I used to drive through there on a regular basis while working driving truck. I had a route from Denver, Pa to Syracuse, NY. I traveled up past Dunmore on Interstate 81 many a night!
Nice video Steve. I lived in a small town outside of Binghamton NY for quite a few years and it looked pretty much the same as where you are. I always liked living out in the country, it's so nice and peaceful. Take care man.
Chris, I have always preferred to live in the country. I have been through Binghamton, NY on many occasions. You are right about that being some beautiful country also. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I was shocked at the price myself! I forgot to check in SM while I was in the Philippines to see their Christmas tree prices. Iowa has great farm country too! Thanks for watching and commenting, Malou.
I take it you have been in there before. Daddy enjoyed going in there and looking around. My mouth was watering at all the great looking items they had in their deli section. I wish I could have packed it all in my suitcase and brought it back to the Philippines with me.
Ive always been curious about the AMISH. Ive only seen them on TV or movies like the one Tim Allen and Kirstie Alley was in.... Is that a religion or way of life? I miss real christmas trees! $900 ! Heck no!
Lancaster is great! Love it❤❤❤
Eliane,
Oh yes! I really do enjoy going through Lancaster. The scenery is some of the best in the world!
Hi
Great scenery, you make your father happy and proud by your visit and driving him around with Ms. Sou.

That is the type of country I grew up in with all the farm fields. It is starting to get too cold for me that far north though.
I can understand the "getting too cold" part. I like the warmer climates myself. Thanks for watching and commenting, Rod.

Very similar to where I grew up here in Ohio:)
Very true. I have seen many areas just like this while driving through Ohio. Thanks for watching and commenting.
That drive reminds me of Iowa except for the Amish part. Disappointed it wasn't a real Christmas tree, quite expensive for a fake tree.
I was shocked at the price myself! I forgot to check in SM while I was in the Philippines to see their Christmas tree prices. Iowa has great farm country too! Thanks for watching and commenting, Malou.
good ole skh,
