I went to install the 4.5-inch lights today, didn't know I needed adaptor those too. Bought a 7" for the main bulb, didn't fit, ordered another one, the right one this time. These things are NOT EASY to find meaning there are only two people in the universe that makes them so the second one that's on its way costs a great deal more. As for the 4.5" lights, only Engineered Adapters makes them, and they are $69 for a piece of plastic. Well, you didn't show anything about 4.5" adapters in your video, so I didn't know I needed those too. BUT, I did learn what you did, taking out the speaker makes it easy.
Yeah, everyone else shows removing the entire cowling which of course includes the lower fairings being removed as well. I’m gonna have to do that sooner or later when I replace the stereo and add an amp, but I was just hoping I could kick that can down the road a little longer. Thx for the video!
Great, i can see I don't have to dismantle the fairing to replace the outer bulbs. I figured that you could access them thru the speakers. Also, the 12v receptacle (cigarette lighter) on my bike, I replaced it very easily with a USB port, voltage indicator. Consider that. How do you turn on the lights on your highway bars? Did you mount a switch somewhere? I am going to do that myself, along with some LED lights on the chassis. I will mount 3/4" switches somewhere on the dash. Once I try to install my new auxiliary lights and headlight, then I can investigate more on where to put them, or at least see if there anything in the way behind where I would like to put them. I plan on mounting the switches, one on the left and one on the right dash to the inside of each speaker.
Hey I saw the inspection. Sticker and notice you are in Virginia ! What part of va are you in if you don’t mind me asking ! So am I and I have the 2020 voyager !
@@VoyagingVoyager Man I’m in Richmond right up the road ! Those lights look great too ! Hey I’m not much on working on stuff ! I break more than I fix lol ! So my question is if I got all my parts and made the ride would you be willing to install my lights! I would get the shop to put them on but I found out if I don’t buy the parts from they won’t do the install! So I had put my slip ons myself 😞 I can pay you as well ! Let me know ! I don’t see other voyagers I thought I had the only 1 in town ! Have a great day !
@@donaldgreene1720 Haha, I hear ya. You get the stuff and we will install them together, no charge. If you need the exact parts we can discuss further, my email is smjohnson513@gmail.com
Not sure, never tested one against the other. I will say, I do not recommend Hogworkz lights. I had a moisture intrusion issue that would make the lens fog up and gave it a frosted look that would last for weeks, Hogworkz would do nothing about it, said it was normal. Complete nonsense.
Yeah the most frustrating part is Hogworkz coping out saying it’s normal. I know it’s completely BS, car headlights don’t do it, factory motorcycle headlights don’t do it, there is no reason other than being defective….
I wouldn't say it's done from the inside other than you will need to remove the light housing. The three screws holding the housing in are accessed from the inside, I removed the speakers and had easy access. The trim rings basically snap on. You will need to depress the retaining clips/tabs (3 of them) to work the trim ring off. The first tab is at 12 o'clock.
@@VoyagingVoyager I believe we are on same page. So first steps to remove Aux lights are to remove speakers and maybe glove boxes. Then remove 3 screws from backside of lamps. Correct? Thanks
Anybody else doing shots every time he says "Engineered Adapters"? Thanks for the video, and the fun.
Hey now!!! ....Lol
@@VoyagingVoyagerat 14:19 there a relay next to your 12v plug. That’s that for?
We are!!

I mounted a switch on the inside of the fairing near the top of the left fork.
@@VoyagingVoyager That is another spot I have thought about.

Is this any brighter than installing a led bulb into the existing housing?

Had my 5-3/4" installed a few years back also. Zero moisture so far. That sucks man

Any radio static interference with the Hogworks LEDs?
None at all.
How did you remove the trim rings around the Aux lights or is it all from inside?
