Losing Heroine anime blew my expectations. The way it’s animated is so fluid and full of creativity, like it’s a passion project. This is more impressive when you consider the fact that the animators had to draw all the scenery from scratch, since the light novel only has the descriptions, while the manga barely had anything good in it.
Oshi no Ko's art direction was so goddamn good at showing the highs and lows of each character, and the setup in the last 2 episodes for the next season was also well done. (Plus the OP and ED both going this hard was incredible)
I know the anime about the robot wife has a weird premise. And I sometimes think that the guy is just dating his toaster as well, lol. But I feel this anime rather than just being about romance actually gives certain thought to the implications of a relationship between a human and a robot. Like, there's a scene where the mom of the protagonist asks him to allow her to put her as the primary owner/user of Mina (that's the name of the robot girl) because she doesn't feel is correct for him to technically "own" his wife. There's another scene where his uncle mentions to him that their relationship can be seen as cruel because relationships can fail and that Mina will only be treated as human as long as she is his wife, so if their relationship fails, then she'll go back to be treated as just an appliance. There's also a scene that deals with how the company that creates the robots has a protocol to follow for robots that are seen as part of a family and not just as appliances because they considered how would you feel if someone you consider a family member gets dismantled, modified or get their memories erased in front of you. There's also some world building regarding the robot models themselves and how they work. I know I'm making it sound way deeper than it probably is since this is a romance slice of life anime at the end of the day but I also went ahead and read some of the manga and it seems that they also deal with things like how the personality of a robot is influenced by the values of the person that creates them. Leading for example to a robot girl that hates the fact that she's a robot but can't destroy herself because that goes againts her programing and deals with identity issues as the "daughter" of her parents because they end up having a real human son. And those occasional little moments of analysis are kinda interesting to me. But again, I'm probably looking way too deep into it lol.
Yo! I appreciate you writing all this. Once again since I had to limit the information due to time and try and keep most of my thoughts as jokes I did fail to mention some of these and I think you do have a point most certainly. I would recommend Mayonaka Punch, No Longer Allowed in Another World, and The Goddesses of Cafe Terrace season 2. obviously for the latter you'd have to watch season 1 if you haven't, but you SHOULD. Season 1, I was mixed on, thinking it picked up a lot towards the end, but season 2 was a joy to watch weekly. Mayonaka Punch is very silly and high energy, with an entertaining dirtbag of a protagonist. and I can promise you one thing - it ends really well. it does not go out with a whimper. No Longer Allowed in Another World is somewhat of an isekai subversion that uses and skewers a lot of tropes in order to tell a more interesting story about the best and worst aspects of humanity. also the main character has literally no combat capability but can talk an enemy into submission and simply does not give a fuck if something might kill him - because after all, he was TRYING to kill himself when he was rudely interrupted by Truck-kun. So he's like 'huh this would be an interesting way to die, let's go". He also somehow has enough charisma to get a cat girl and an elf girl to drag him around in a coffin. He also does have a very cool power but I don't want to spoil it. Senpai is an Otokonoko is a good show, with the caveat that you have to learn to tolerate a ludicrous amount of chibi. it's kind of a charmingly crude style that works for comedy, but steps on some dramatic moments. also the main characters are more realistic teenagers, and thus, INFURIATING IN THEIR CHOICES. so ymmv. shows I wouldn't really recommend: VTuber Legend (even though I laughed quite a bit, I don't think it was that great), Quality Assurance in Another World (am I going to finish this??? I understand why you put "How to Become Ordinary" in can't recommend because I wasn't feeling it either especially in that hot cocoa episode, but by the end it actually became my favorite show of the season (Haven't seen Oshi No Ko yet). The last 3 episodes made the whole season worth it, I wouldn't say the characters developed or changed much more that the context around them made them a lot more interesting but even though I did really like it by the end, I still would find it hard to recommend. Its an investment of a show and for some people that is not worth it, I kept watching because I like the directing, character designs, Music and overall vibe, but if that's not enough to carry a show for you then yeah it's not a show that I can easily recommend.
