No Lilac do not do well in zone 9
DO you fertilize with anything special? I'm about to this month.
I would recommend a slow release fertilizer.
Does this dark purple one always bloom in June first? I have a bloomerang lilac light purple and its first blooms are in May. If this derivation blooms a month later. I would like to pick one of these up
It blooms in May as well.
What do you have to do to this Bloomerang to keep it flowering so low at the bottom and not just blooming at the top?
Nothing, just dont trim it.

It gets about 5-6' tall and wide.
