    I love the Kam press, just want to know if it does the open ring rivet? That are used on tents to thread rope through?

    • @MamaBanana
      @MamaBanana  Год назад

      Yes you can. I have a die for that. I think I bought them on Amazon or AliExpress.

    I just bought the kam press from market place and it came with different dies, but I do not know what they’re for. It’s a very big press. How do I find out what all the different dies are for? One of the boxes says DK - 98, not sure if that’s the model that I have. How do I find out more information about this kam press

    What snaps do you use the most? KAM snaps, rivets & jean/spring snaps are my most used ones. But I want to try all the snaps out there 😊

      Pearl snaps. I replace all of the buttons on my shirts with matching pearl snaps. I also use magnetic clasp snaps for bags, backpacks, and the like.

    Can this thing stamp metal,like aluminum?

    • @MamaBanana
      @MamaBanana  Год назад +3

      I’ve not tried this, but it is very strong, so I’d say if you can find the right dies that are made for stamping thin metal, then yes.
      If you do find a stamping die to fit, please do share here. I’m in the process of trying to make my own bag labels & this would be soooo cool 😎

    @MamaBanana Are you using KAMSnap dies or are they "after market"

    • @MamaBanana
      @MamaBanana  10 месяцев назад

      I have plenty of dies that are not KAM branded. But the dies for the KAM snaps are from KAM snaps.

      @@MamaBanana thank you so much for your reply! I have been agonizing over which price to buy and I was looking at those available on ebay which, by many reviews, are not the best quality. But I figured that if the dies are standard many of them could be had for significantly less. But, I am pretty much sold on the KAMSnap press. Again, thanks so much for your content and your reply to my question!

      @weclarkmcse you are very welcome. It’s good to get peer review. So happy to help.
      Really hope you love your KAM press as much as I do ❤️
      Happy snapping.

    Why do you have to change the die for the make part. If you use the hand held Kam pliers you don’t need to?

    • @MamaBanana
      @MamaBanana  11 месяцев назад

      It’s about annoying like that. But it’s a much more secure fix with this. Maybe because it pushes the stem in that bit further than it needs to be a different die.
      I’d say for general use, the hand press is fine. But if you use the snaps on thicker projects, or if you’re selling your products, this maybe more suitable. I use mine a lot, while not on anything to sell, I find it suits my needs best. Particularly since I make a lot of bags & pouches, so my projects can be on the thicker end, so this really works best.
      Happy snapping 😄

    Will this work with all brands of plastic snaps like Lynda? All I have 14mm and 12mm snaps?

    • @MovieTube4Me
      @MovieTube4Me Год назад

      Majority of hand presses have smaller dies than bench presses but some makers do have dies that will work in Bench press provided you use their adaptor that will slot into the bench press's larger holes with smaller hole for hand dies.
      If no adaptor you will have to find who make this brand to ask if there is an adaptor.
      I have hand press with snaps purchased locally and when I contacted company they said snaps may work in bench press but no mention of needing adaptors or if their dies would fit. I found someone who owned Kam snap bench press and let me know the brand couldn't be used, she had already tested them herself.
      Good luck

      Hi,
      I actually have a video with a tip for precisely this issue. Trish is to pull the fabric against the tool so that the die pushes the stud down while it’s centred the whole way to the base. Check out the video for a clear demo.

    You can just measure with calipers and use a retaining clip that will last for about 2 cents lol.
