- Another WILD ride from the WYCO Racing 'Operation Octane' No Prep Event on the Pit Road at Kansas Speedway. The driver of the orange Nova was sawing the wheel hard but finally decided the grass looked better than the wall, and he saves it!
I love how he immediately rolls down the window to let the smell out 💩

I enjoy the 'almost crashes' like this much more than getting scrapped, particularly when exceptional reactions and skill involved.
Wow, he's lucky. Watching all these mishaps in videos and at the track with the 275 drag radial cars has changed my goals with my car. I used to want to build a car to run in these classes but they've gotten too expensive and cars are crashing too much for me to do it. All I need is to run 10.0s in 1/4 mile and 6.30s in 1/8 and that's fast enough for me. Hats off to all the guys and gals willing to go for it, the entertainment is great.

That Nova looks more red than orange on my screen, but the color would be completely irrelevant had those tires caught just a little bit more when he got sideways. WOW! "Lucky" doesn't begin to describe it.

I have an 855rwhp 19 Mustang. And I have done the same thing only substantially worse. I didn’t let off when the tires broke loose at at about 60. Thought I could drive through it, I believe I lost it around 80. I spun three times in one direction when I thought I had it corrected I did a spin and a half on the other direction and came to a dead stop facing oncoming traffic. Luckily I was far enough ahead of the oncoming traffic that I was able to just drive off the road safely. Stayed on the 2 lane road though and didn’t damage the car. Not a good feeling. Certainly had nothing to with my driving skills. Pure luck. Haven’t driven it on the street with traction control off ever since.

I've rolled a car doing 80 plus and spun a car at 140, there is not pucker factor involved. Everything moves in slow motion and it's almost like you are watching a movie and not really their, now afterwords you piss or crap yourself but not during in my experiences.
I agree. Flipped my '64 Impala ss at 80ish miles an hour (was going 125), I think I blacked out. Last thing I remember was heading off the road.

GlassTopRX7 oh definitely. Had that same feeling when I spun out on an icy stretch of highway, only my van wound up on its side in the median. I was shaking for a while after that, but my boss wasn’t thrilled to see the van when it rolled back into the shop that afternoon (still drivable but the drivers side needed repair from bumper to bumper).

Something else occurred to me. I see both cars have leaf springs and Cal Tracs or equivalents. I think if the car had ladder bars or four link with a ridged anti roll bar it would have rolled. The leaf springs allowed the body to roll a little and with out that happening the tire probly would have bit hard enough to roll the car.
