- Deputies arrested a woman Wednesday who allegedly shot and killed her boyfriend with a pellet gun in Graham.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said deputies responded to the shooting at 6:35 p.m. at a home off 252nd Street East and 52nd Avenue East. Deputies arrived and found a 51-year-old man dead outside, according to the PCSD.
Deputies were told the 49-year-old girlfriend of the victim had shot him with a pellet gun, the PCSD said. She was arrested and booked into Pierce County jail for second-degree murder, the PCSD added.
Officials said a search of the home revealed the pellet gun "and other evidence."

If you follow the four rules of all gun safety this doesn’t happen. 1) know your target and what is behind it 2) treat every gun as though it is loaded until you have verified 3) never point a gun at anything you are not willing to destroy 4) keep your finger off the trigger until you have sighted your target and have made the decision to shoot. Not in this exact order but all of these rules are equally important, and applicable to all situations.
As a child, we had a pump-action pellet gun along with standard BB guns. I guess I was never taught any specific safety about it (different from the BB guns) because I couldn't operate the pump.
Well, one day when I was about 8, I got tired of the squirrels immediately returning to the bird feeder after I popped them with a BB, so I got out the pellet gun, loaded it, and managed three pumps. I shot the squirrel from about fifteen feet away and it fell out of sight beyond the porch rail. I ran around to find him dead in the yard. The pellet had gone clean thru his skull, with just a tiny, barely bleeding hole on both sides. I felt terrible, I never intended to kill him. I put him deep in the back woods under some twigs and leaves so nature could take him. I really learned a lot of lessons that day about anger and firepower, and I'm still sad decades later that an innocent squirrel died so an innocent kid could learn them. My parents never found out.
(btw, the only firearms in the house were my deceased grandfather's two old hunting rifles, literally molding and rusting away in a locked chest in the attic. I found them when I was about 12, and just left them there. I only know they were my grandfather's because his name was stenciled on the case.)
So feeding birds ok but squirrels can go fuck themselves? Why even shoot it with a BB? Poor thing was just trying to eat. He probably died thinking. "I thought punchkitten874 was my friend, why would lil home do me like that?"
At least you had remorse and realized what you did and felt bad about and didn't keep doing it over and over and out it away and learned your lesson that anger and a fire arm do not mix but some people don't care and has so much hatred and anger that all's they want is revenge this is a hatred world and somewhere it needs to STOP!!!!
Haha similar experience. My portal device that transferred me to another universe was a pellet pistol. The round didn't kill the animal and in horror I saw it had large engorged teats. Some pups would not be having dinner that night.
My father made me strangle her so she didn't suffer. Got to love those human priorities, did I deserve to be spared consequences? I handled it even worse than you did, I refused to dispose of the corpse, made a real mess of things.
The experience changed my life, sorry mama squirrel I am very sorry I had been unable to extend you the slightest measure of foresight. I don't eat other animals and I'm 63 now. It's not that I am any wiser, but now I know how stupid I can be.

A pellet gun is like a b.b. gun or an actual gun, it *CANNOT* damage anything or hurt anybody, the person using it on the other hand *CAN* do both of those things when in control of it. People *HAVE* to stop trying to publicly shame forks for making all of them fat!

It's less about that point and more about the size and velocity. It may not be very big, but with high pressure behind it... I remember feeding ducks with leftover rabbit food after my friend's furry companion of 11 years passed. I was using a tube with some cloth on the end and a pneumatic plunger to shotgun the food pellets up into the sky so they rained down into the water harmlessly because I didn't want to go down the slope near the water and stand in a bunch of oily rancid bog mud. Some brats and their Karen mother's took interest in what I was doing. I refused to let the kids try for obvious reasons. I decided to let one of the Karen's try. Before she finished pumping it 6 times, I leaned down and asked the kid if he liked animals. He nodded. I'm like "yeah, your mom is about to kill one or more." She didn't angle it up into the air like I was doing. She killed 1 duck and injured some others by way of rabbit food buckshot. I just tapped him on the shoulder and told him to be careful in the future. He was scared to death.

Many air rifles shoot pellets and bb. The pellets are not as deadly as this guy makes them to be and doesnt seem to have much actual knowledge.
The pointed tip he speaks of is barely pointed. Like any other lead projectile it deforms to various degrees. Its not an armored spearpoint of doom.
Can they kill things? Yes..primarily very small game such as birds and squirrel. Youd have to be highly unlikely to be killed by a pellet from a normal air rifle.
The exception to that are the higher powered air rifles due to increased amount of pressurized air it fires with. Has nothing to do with a heat seeking, armor penetrating or otherwise legendary pellet.
As much as you want to sound like you know what you're talking about, you're wrong. Theres an entire class of pellet only air rifles that shoot at supersonic velocities. 1200-1500FPS.
They are definitely lethal, and the ammunition (there are several types) can cause major damage. I hit to the heart or lungs is damaging, but then it bounces around off the rib cage and does more... same in the skull.
