So excited Sandi has added a feed consultant to her team - having a good team and continuing to evolve it and grow it as necessary is a key to Success- becoming complacent is always the enemy in so many endeavours!
It’s amazing how giving the sheep a little bit of a waist will improve their health and lambing outcomes. As a non-farmer and long time viewer, I found Courtney’s input extremely interesting - I would love for feed consulting/feed strategies to become a regular item on Sandi’s channel
As a programmer, I remember struggling for days, if not weeks, to resolve an issue before finally pulling in a co-worker as a second set of eyes. The number of times they spotted the issue in a short period of time are too many to count. I always felt a mix responses - wanting to hug them and hit them at the same time. 🤣 With more experience, I learned not to struggle for so long and it was always great to be able to return the favour !

When packing product into bins, rather than packing on the floor and lifting (risking back injury), put the board across the 2nd shelf (connecting the 2 racks along the wall like a worktop), place the bin on the board and pack from there. It raises the bin off the floor to ease packing and lifting, but the board is removable and out of the way when not needed. Have a great day!!

Make the pain the "other", give it a name and separate it from yourself. I named my pain "Ethel", but she was definitely not Me. So I would say "Ethel is yelling today, she needs a nap" or " Ethel is a bitch and I am not going to pay any attention to her, I'm going to watch a movie. and that somehow distanced the pain from actual me. I just had to put up with Ethel like a really annoying roommate but she was not me.

✨I REALLY HOPE this tidbit helps you!✨
I suggest a small change which seems obvious to me, which is NOT me trolling you at all. When you pack and seal the mugs in their boxes, you need a tote or the entire plastic bin sitting on the boxing table and fill it with the boxes there. This is as opposed to you carrying several boxed mugs over to the storage bin at the shelves and filling it there. If the issue is that a full bin weighs more than is comfortable to carry from the table to the shelve space then just employ a smaller storage bin to carry a manageable amount of product over to the storage bin at the shelves. This still avoids dropping boxes due to overloading your arms.
🥰🤞 Best of luck Sandy & Crew! 🥰🤞

So glad you have Courtney on board! Her explanations were very enlightening and I am excited for you going forward! I really think you are on the right track! Also…had to smile at the fumbling of the mugs! Just showed how very careful you are, in unpacking each one to make sure of no breakage. My daddy always said carrying too much was a “lazy man’s load.” Guess we all are prone to trying to do/carry too much…I know I am! Should’ve listened to him more, I guess. Not a criticism in any way…just made me remember my dad and smile! Thanks, as always, for sharing your life with us all! Please don’t ever stop! My days would be so sad and lonely without you!

Nice mugs! Nobody's going to want to recycle the cute little boxes, though!
Really loved hearing Courtney discuss feeding and the results, and isn't it great that your ewes look so well? How great to find such a skilled consultant! There's nothing simple about raising sheep!

Thank you Sandi. I loved the explanation Courtney gave us. It’s very hard to find the fine line between feeding what they NEED and over conditioning. 🌺💚🙃

THANK GOODNESS you are finally getting the answers! Body condition is so overlooked! Weight is EVERYTHING! So happy you have her on the team! I would love for you to consider splitting a flock into lamb numbers! Yes it's hard but it'll save your flock!

Sandi, thank you for having Courtney explain how rations are determined to give the sheep ultimate conditioning. So interesting.
I know nothing about farming of any kind, I have learned so much from your channel. Farming is dependent on so many things, weather, location, types of operation, technology, tools and machinery, compromise and cooperation between you and other farmers (lending or renting machinery from each other and sometimes even sharing labor)
Besides the complexity of several operations, you and Mark have incredible work ethic. You both pour your heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears into this life. You amaze me.
Thanks for letting us know how Jess and Jack are doing. With you and Mark as role models they are strong independent humans. Gorgeous too!
Looking forward to watching and learning more. 😊

See Sandi, this is a good example you care about what you do... your heart is in your work. You are humbled to find better ways to take care of your sheep. When your inventory fell, you took the time to make sure your mugs were ok to sell. You have a lot of time for all the things you are going on with family, work, and anything else. Sandi does not have time for herself. But a wonderful person you are. Delete your haters!!!

Love how that lamb jumped up into the feed bunk while the nutritionist was there, kind of showing off her great condition. That was a super informative talk. Don't mind Marks grey hair. Love his reverse bandit sunglass outline on his face. It just shows how much he is outside working. You guys are a hardworking couple. Keep it up.

The shot of Mark climbing the ladder on the storage bin impressed me. I'm an old lady now, but I have never been able to manage vertical ladders like that. Boats, swimming pools, docks, rooftop access, whatever. I have never been strong enough in the right muscle groups to do it. Bravo Mark!
Your feed discussion was fascinating. Loved it.
