Luke, I have the overseas Dark PhysiX which has NRG Hyrbid I keep it at 3k grit. which I absolutely LOVE that ball. I’ve never owned an NeX Pearl ball.. In your opinion, would the Dark and the Blackout play off each other, or be too similar?
THANKS!! NRG is an earlier and smoother cover, so it's going to be an earlier smoother ball than this one, will likely feel stronger even though NeX is the stronger cover on paper, NeX gets quite a bit cleaner in hybrid and pearl than the solid is, but NRG hybrid and pearl both are still pretty early and chuggy like the solid is. I don't think you're going to have much overlap between the two.
It's an interesting choice seeing NeX Pearl back. Unless they've tweaked the formula more, it's definitely not as quick as the Hybrid formula and even the Solid formula always seemed quicker too. I experienced it with an overseas Code Master. It was just never as quick as i wanted it to be, but it rolled great on the tougher stuff because it wasnt as quick
I'm on my 3rd (and final) Marvel Maxx w NeX Hybrid. Tried it from 500- original 1500 polish w each step in between and its bout the same amount of midlane traction polished as sandy while still having good amount of pop of the dry for such a strong formula. Can't wait to put Power edge on this ball, should be perfect under my H Reality Solid and def still a step up from Marvel
I’m disappointed with the look of this ball. With that being said…I am torn between the harsh pearl or the origin for the pearl step down from the ion max. Which would you recommend for a 320 rev lefty, 16 at the monitor and high tilt? Thank you 🙏🏽
This'll be an EXPENSIVE ball I'm sure. The proton physix was on the higher end of the price scale. Putting "blackout" on it will probably inflate the price more.
Luke, senior bowler here, currently using a code red pin down 40x4x70 on THS. Drilled the same where, would this fall? Looking for a step or 2 down from the code red.
Code Red was R2S Hybrid, or the Hyroad cover, this is muuuuch stronger. For a step or two down from the Red, you'd be looking at a Summit Ascent or possibly even a Road Warrior for two steps down. Code Red was a middle of the line strength ball
Curious to see how this will compare to the attention star and the S2. If it's not a better ball over all I see no point in buying one when the attention star is so dominant
While I'm not entirely against nex pearl coming back into the lineup... nor sanding a pearl... i am against ai core dropping the rgs and raising the diffs on everything like they're trying to be motiv
@LukeRosdahl really i have physix tour and fire both where really good hopefully blackout will be good black should make.on the cleaner side maybe why they 2k finished the pearl.
Cant wait to hit it w surface and get told 'ArE yOu ThRoWiNg UrEtHaNe?'.. no.. no im not. This has happened w my VEBO at 1k and IQTs at 1k.. And even if it was urentane, what the hell you gonna do about it 😂😂
I’m the opposite, I like solid colors whether dark or light. Balls like the Ion Max are a no go for sure regardless of how good it could be. Just something about seeing all the contrasting colors doesn’t agree w my eyes watching it go down a lane.
I think they need to change up the color scheme it’s fine to do it once or twice but this is now the third “blackout” ball. They made the Attention Star S2 the same colors as the original as well. Not understanding the decisions lately lol
Not to mention it's another black sparkly ball . . so even if the others weren't specifically labeled blackout, Dark Code, Night Road, Zen Gold Label, etc. Of course B7 keeps making everything orange and purple, so . .

I’m still rocking my axiom pearl❤
The axiom pearl is one of the of my favorite balls ever. I’ve had 3 and I’m strongly considering another one 😂
I never got the axioms kinda regret it but physix black out and astro physically can be a good one two punch
Ik it’s a ball that’s been discounted but what do you know about the motiv Yellowjacket tank if anything?
Very early and smooth urethane type ball
With my Infinite getting long in the tooth, this might be the replacement/upgrade I’ve been waiting for.

Depends on if you want something sharper or smoother. The Harsh Pearl is still pretty defined, but the Origin is definitely sharper.
This'll be an EXPENSIVE ball I'm sure. The proton physix was on the higher end of the price scale. Putting "blackout" on it will probably inflate the price more.
Eh, it's just going to be their regular premiere line price, 190 on Bowler's Mart right now.
@@LukeRosdahl still pricey. still want it xD
Still pricey, but that's every brand right now, this is par for the course for a top line ball.

It should be a lot stronger, the Stars only have a medium strength cover and this one has one of their strongest covers.

Their covers aren't as good as the other brands right now and it seems like they're trying to buff the cores to make up for that.
Nex hybrid was on ptlp physixs
Nah, it was actually R2S Hybrid, they inaccurately posted that it was NeX.

had this happen with my hammer raw black (which, tbh, barely absorbs any oil and might as well be a NU blue), WITH the PSO who drilled it for me 😂😂
They lose me with the whole "blackout" thing. I may be in the minority but I don't like solid color bowling balls...especially black.
For me, solid bowling balls look better and are MUCH easier to read.
Oh man. Solid black balls are the best
