    Fusing classic Fender design with player-centric features and exciting new finishes, the Player Plus Stratocaster delivers superb playability and unmistakable style.
    At the heart of this Strat is a trio of Player Plus Noiseless pickups - bright and touch sensitive, they offer classic Strat tone without hum. A push-pull pot on the tone control adds the neck pickup to switch positions 1 and 2 for two sounds not usually found on a Strat. The silky satin Modern “C” Player Plus Strat neck fits your hand like a glove, with smooth rolled edges for supreme comfort. The 12” radius fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets facilitate fluid leads and choke free bends. Smooth and responsive, the 2-point tremolo provides classic vibrato effects, while the locking tuners provide rock-solid tuning and make string changes quick and easy.
    With classic Fender style, advanced features and stunning new finishes, the Player Plus Stratocaster is the perfect tool to spark your creativity and stand out from the crowd.

    Those pickups sound sweet, they have just the right amount of chime. Damn good deal too for a Strat you don’t have to baby, or worry about dropping it.

    Pretty excited about that 12" radius, eh? The SSS models are pretty cool, but I can't get into the HSS models with covered humbuckers. Having a covered humbucker along with the single coils just looks weird to me. It's purely an aesthetic thing.

    I've got this guitar in Opal Spark and use it for recording. Mine actually sounds pretty warm for a Strat, and noiseless too. Hard not to like. The Pau Ferro has a great, hard, smooth feel.

    Jim, your reviews are always the best-I look for your reviews before anyone else's. Also love seeing you get a bit loose with the commentary in this one, haha!
    I think I'm liking the Player Plus Nashville Tele over the Player Plus Strat... how about you?

    I've noticed on a lot of the player plus strats and teles that the strings are off to one side and almost off the fingerboard as it gets to the higher frets...

    At 2:25, he says it comes with 9-42 gauge strings, but the text on the video says .009-.046

    Great playing. It’s a nice guitar, but the pickups are just a touch too harsh for me.

    Sure wish they would put a dark rosewood fretboard on all the strats

      That Pau Ferro to me looks terrible most of the time. I prefer maple on a strat fretboard but agree they need to change this up

      It is due to recent CITES trade rules on rare and endangered woods, such as rosewood and especially Brazilian rosewood. So you are helping the planet by choosing Pau Ferro, which by the way was already used in the SRV strat and will be a big upgrade on the lower grade rosewood used on Mexican strats previously. Fender has historically used many different woods in its construction according to the different regulations and availabilities in place.

    • @lucphu656
      @lucphu656 2 года назад

      @@Chrishagen yes, choosing pau ferro probably help the planet. when the endanger wood back to normal. they will keeping cutting it. Anyway, i think lots of people want another kind of wood for their guitar

    • @Chrishagen
      @Chrishagen 2 года назад +1

      @@lucphu656 Then don't buy the guitar! But the Pau Ferro is of superior quality to the bad rosewood they used before on MIM guitars. It is also harder and denser so does not need to be oiled to keep in peak condition like rosewood does. The PF used is also used on premium USA guitars. They just did not market it right, so people think it is a downgrade, which it certainly is not.

    The cool thing about players like this is that they leave no question to what the guitar is capable of. His playing is great but I dont like the sound of this guitar

    check out the margin on the guitars neck. The "margin" is the measurement of how the strings run up and down the neck. A "shifted" margin is when one the strings are closer to one side of the length of the neck than the other. This guitar shows the "Little E" string right on the edge of the fret board while the opposite side, the "Big E" string has nearly a quarter inch or more from the edge of the fret board. This is not difficult to correct but on a brand new guitar this is shameful. This is why I tell people all the time, DONT BUY NAMES...BUY QUALITY. Since the turn of the century, guitar manufacturers such as Epiphone, LTD, etc, have been producing some of the best instruments out there but the name brand snobs turn their noses up at them, even when the parts used , including the electronics such as pickups, are far superior to the "name" brands. Fender should be ashamed at the level of quality coming from their plants. But they dont care. the mass produce these things like any other production assembly line. Even Gibson has been putting out a lot of garbage guitars and charging people completely obtuse prices for the products. Just so you know, a normal solid body guitar such as a strat, or tele are really inexpensive when focusing on the materials. Probably around $680.00 in total including labor for the Ultra Strat. It takes about 25 minutes to put the guitar together and string it up in a manufacturer setting. Add another ten minutes to set it up. Out the door for $3k Everyone who is a serious player should take the time to learn the basics of working on guitars. If more people actually learned just basics, more people would understand the truth in the world of guitars. There's no secret stash of wood Fender and Gibson have access to that other companies do not. There's no secret pile of "tone wood" despite what PRS says. It all comes from the same place according to what country you are in. But ultimately, wood is wood. There's no secrets period. Until the mid to late 90's American companies had the goods in technology pertaining to building guitars but now, all companies have access to the tech. Therefore, all companies have the ability and technology to build fantastic guitars. Of course all companies build cheap and expensive guitars, but what happens when the expensive guitars are built cheaply? I am about to start making a few videos so people can see the truth, or more appropriately, hear the truth. Going to title the videos "Guess the guitar brand", "Guess the amp brand" etc.
