The KL Monorail Line is an urban monorail system in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It opened on 31 August 2003, with 11 stations running 8.6 km (5 mi) on two parallel elevated tracks. It connects the Kuala Lumpur Sentral transport hub with the "Golden Triangle". It was completed at a cost of MYR 1.18 billion by the KL Infrastructure Group (KL Infra).

That's so true. Very nice Monorail system and not expensive. Gets very crowded at times. The strangest engineering I have probably ever seen is that the Monorail does not go all the way to the main train station. It drops you off about 2 blocks from the station and you have to make your way through traffic to get to the train station. If I understood it correctly the original engineering specifications had the Monorail going all the way to the train station. But, for some reason that never happened. Possibly some astute Kuala Lumpur resident knows the reason and can share it. By the way, Kuala Lumpur is a beautiful city. Only a few miles outside of KL is an engineering marvel the city of Putrajaya. Built from the ground up as an architectural wonder it truly amazed me beyond words. If you go to Kuala Lumpur and don't see Putrajaya you have missed an incredible place.
actually, this monorail will be upgraded as well LRT, from 2 cars to 4. Trail had been done so far. Source Prasarana Rapid KL
I think if they upgraded the line into driverless system, it would be more punctual... By using 16 4 car innovia monorail trains to optimize the line as it is the second busiest line after Kelana Jaya line

We use meglev train in heart of the city.2 for 6 kilometer between station.some station in office, mall and condo no need 400kmh.

What is the average speed of monorail in KL? Thailand is going to have two lines of monorail in next few years. from what I saw from this clip the train did not look that slow. Though our monorail will be different from KL.
This monorail is damn slow...hope scomi and rapid kl do something about it...Malaysia also plan monorail in putrajaya soon...hopefully materialized...Bangkok public transportation improves so much year by year.

TBH, i prefer Lrt and Mrt to Monorail KL. It's slow, crowded and easily broken down.

to be frank ,this is a thing of the past .please government, no more building monorail. it costs too much and it's unpleasant to ride as well. I don't know whether the talks about extending monorail to Brickfields and OKG will happen or not and also ,the Putrajaya Monorail 😇 . the good thing is the rolling stock is local made and we even exported them to the other countries .kudos to Scoomi
Its here already and serves its purposes for city centre use. For other destinations you can use the LRT, MRT, ERL, ETS and the KTM.
I wish there is monorail for Putrajaya.
