so you should go over what would happen if the game is patched to get some of these glitches out because this is possible with online patches and how the catagories can change due to this
@@Rainos62 It's really not up to him, and there are a few ways that it can be handled, depending on how drastic the changes are. Most likely, it will either end up like www.speedrun.com/smo or www.speedrun.com/Celeste, where one has a subcategory for patches and the other has non-obsoleting variables for the patches.

all the people commenting that this game is Terrible and Glitchy because of this video seem to fail to realize that the only people who will even see it consistently in their playthroughs are speedrunners
No but you have to perform other glitches that can affect people just to performed this all this needs patched glitches speed runs are just cheaters

I 337% this game casually and didn't run into a single glitch, unless you count invisible objects and objects that don't exactly match where the collision is, and both of those only in very high places or very far away places with no eggs or gems anywhere near them, mostly in flying levels.
Oh this is brilliant. We can now (through very finicky means) actually travel through the air in the Reignited Trilogy! It's so surreal seeing really similar glitches from the originals being replicated on different systems and engines 20 years later.
Speedrunners are the pioneers of every single trick you'll find in any game
100% runs are where it's at tho. I just can't leave those gems on the ground, it just feels uncomfortable

Original Spyro 2 100% is actually pretty fun due to how broken it is. You basically do a boss rush first and then complete all the levels with permanent fireball.

They never patched Crash's exploits, so who knows.
tbh they shouldnt patch it out, since it wont affect anyone playing the game normally. just like how gtav added screwy bike physics back since the only people it affected was the stunt jumping community

Nick Londo I have had found many glitches while just playing like falling out of that map, and walking through a wall lol I was was just playing normal
I feel like some of the glitches might of been left in intentionally for speedrunners. It's not like that's something that would be found or at least found easily in a casual run.

Ok so I discovered a glitch today I 117% Spyro 3 and I was going back to get the skill point for the skateboard area in sunny villa when I killed the last big rynoc with the turkey leg he dropped a green gem I didn’t notice it at first but when I exited the skatepark I got the gem and bam my gem count is 20002 now and sunny villa has 402/400 gems lol
I got an extra single gem in Spyro 3. I have no idea which level I found it on as they all say 400/400 etc but my overall gem count got to 15001 before the super level!
That happened to me in sunny villa too!

I was there during the find of crush glitch! I've been trying it out on my save too! I hope to try the ripto skip as well. Good stream. It was awesome to find more ways to break the game lol.
I don't know if it can be used but in winter tundra when I paid money bags and died I was under the floor where he was previously. I just simply jumped up but I'm sure speed runners might find somthing to do with it.

Uhhh, what? There's a plethora of glitches in the 2nd and 3rd games that people discovered without even trying. Both games are buggy as fuck, most likely due to a lack of testing and being outsourced to other game devs.
honestly doesn't surprise me in the slightest. water in general is pretty broken, so such glitches are fairly common with them. and it seems like just what the game needed in terms of glitches (from someone outside looking in, idk that much about the game). the oob it seems you can do with it. I mean it's new so the prospect of finding stuff would've been exciting, but I can't imagine how excited the community for the game is with the discoveries. and surely there is still much more to come.

Only glitch I've found is after Ripto in Dragon Shoals. It's the balloons on the roller coaster mini-game, after getting the canon, I was able to hit a balloon with both the cannon and collision and it registered twice. Though I don't think that area is required for any speed run.

Modern engines have so much jank. The complexity of this game isn't even that much higher than the old spyro. More polygons, textures, shaders, yada yada. But the math behind collisions and speed and barriers is all pretty much the same, and those are the pieces that cause most skips. Even if these glitches make the game more fun for speedrunners, I really think developers should be hunting this stuff down if for no other reason than pride. And on a game this simple, with 95% of the core gameplay already set in stone before development ever begins, can't there be a little more polish?

I hope I can do this great video & I had a glitch happen in Lost fleet where I made Spyro collect some gems and I ended up head bashing & the glitch ended up happening & what really infuriates me was when I tried to get the skill point in Lost fleet on my first try that's called skateboard record time and sometimes the game glitches & the last couple times I've played through that game I've got it on my first try this was in Spyro 3 though

When I played the game (casual 100+% plays on a PS4 Pro) I had pretty much no problems with Spyro 1 or Ripto's Rage in terms of glitching (hover not triggering was the only trouble I had). YotD though I raged at solely due to the almost constant glitching or slowdowns that I got throughout that game. If you said any of the games wouldn't have QA, I'd say Spyro 3 to be the one with no QA.
@@sirenAri ironically I had no major bugs or glitches pop up during Year of the Dragon, but I found Ripto's Rage to be riddled with them. Not to say YotD is not lacking in them either, just most of the ones I found were just minor or stupid and hilarious

I follow on Twitch, unfortunately I left the platform because they charge Canadians significantly (a couple dollars *after* conversion, but enough) more money for anything than they do Americans. I got into a heated argument with them, and they settled with hiding the fact they're doing it. You used to see the USD rate, then the CAD rate, making it clear you're being ripped off, now you just see the CAD rate. I got very frustrated and stopped talking to them. I'm not talking about currency exchanges, or fees for it, but well beyond that (I have emails to support my claims too). Anyways, thanks for another great video!

The only difference is that we're in 2019 not 1998. ToysForBob are probably making a long list of all glitches and will patch them in an upcoming update which we know is coming. If you want to do a world record speed run, do it now while you can.
I got shot up into the air while playing normally on ps4 it was on the save pad in town square on spyro 1 i keep trying to get it to happen but i don't even know how it did it
I'm curious, will speed running have something for the infinite super flame from the start of the game? Something called like super flame % or something for runs using a second file which already has the infinite power up?

Maybe instead of patching this they should patch the easyness of spike and revert him back to the original?

i am not a speedrunner but i streamed myself beating all 3 spyro's from the trilogy and getting 3 plat trophies without sleeping first in the world. i am having trouble downloading the stream from twitch but im talking with support now. who should i talk to to/where should i post to let ppl know i am legit and i have proof? :o

I dont think speed runs based on glitches are a real show of skill. playing the game properly, how its meant to be played is a true show of skill.
That's why the game's community tends to segregate glitch and glitchess categories when the glitches start to overtake runs.
To think that those type of glitches were found on my bday of all things hahahaha winter really does make things awkward
