The problem is that compared to current format is less players are interested in retro than modern. Konami really doesnt support it completely because theres no hundred dollar cards like SP Little Knight or Wanted Secret Spoils.
And it's so unfortunate! The legacy formats do such a nice job of showing what YGO was before it became what it is today. I just wish if they were trying to get more people to play the Time Wizard events, that they would give some reprints to some of the cards that really need it, a good example being Phoenixian Cluster Amarylis. The card is banned in modern, so it likely won't receive a reprint outside of a Raging Battle rewave or a Time Wizard format-exclusive reprint pack since Konami doesn't like to print cards that are banned.

True! I keep forgetting that they didn't give it an Ultra Rare in Magnificent Mavens. Zero clue why they would just make it a Pharaoh's Rare and not reprint it in an accessible rarity for the masses. 🤦🏻♂️
Wish they would just do the timewizard reprint sets. Pick 100 or so of the most used cards that exceed $1 for each time period and make a set out of it.
Completely agree! They've been slowly adding reprints into sets a handful at a time, but they definitely need to do a large reprint set!
LOTS of extra deck monsters need reprints.
Avenging knight parshath, xx saber hyunlei, reaper on the nightmare, or Black Brutdrago.
Some other cards that need a new print include karma cut, gladiator beast retiari, consecrated light, and even after the OTS reprint, rug is still expensive.
Also there are some niche cards that are too expensive like king of the beasts or sphere of chaos.
There are just so many cards to try and keep track of and completely forgot about these! I really need to study the format and learn more about it.
What makes it funnier is I've picked up Reaper on the Nightmare (MP PGD unlim and I have the DR1 rare), found quite a few common Consecrated Lights in bulk a month or so ago along with picking up a single Super from Whatnot for cheap. Think I have a couple Sphere of Chaos too in the error binder since they're both holo bled.

I’ve been saying the same about these old format reprints, they need to release at least 1 set dedicated to old formats. People would eat that shit up. THEN they can push official Time wizard events.
Right! It doesn't make much sense to try and push legacy formats when there are cards that are REQUIRED to even attempt to play the format that haven't been printed in 15 years. Substitoad taking this long to get a reprint when it came off the banlist on October 3, 2022. Took them nearly two years to reprint the thing. 😳
they dont even need to use dedicated sets, just using the already accessible cards in rarity collection sets and replacing them with needed past format reprints would make a good difference. nobody is going to miss the millionth reprint of MST
