??? That sounds so obvious to me... Is there another way people pay in shops? I'm not being sarcastic here, I'm genuinely confused. Do some people have to pay tax ON TOP of the prices written?
@@ouichtan Yes here in the U.S we do. It's called a sales tax. It's added on to the total of whatever products you buy at a store. A few states don't have sales tax, but most do.
@@ouichtan I often watch videos by US expats living in Europe, and yes indeed, they say that in the USA you have a tax which is added when you pay - and its amount depends of the state where you are living !
In France a tax quite like that exists (la TVA) but it is already taken into account in the displayed price which I think is a lot better (the best way would be to display the proce with AND without the tax so you know the exact amount of the tax)

Hey Max I love your vlogs! I'm an American living with my family just a bit up the road from you here in Aix. I run an English language school for kids and teens in town, and my teachers and I had a blast watching your first day at Vauvenargues the other day! We have a request: Can you make a vlog (speaking a tad slower than you usually do, if possible) on the main things about Aix (and France in general) that you find cool and different from the US? We'd love to show it in our teen classes so they can see their own town from the perspective of an American their age!! Thanks and keep up the great work!!
