  • I want to make the best free guitar lessons. I want to make the best guitar gear reviews. I am asking for what it is that you guys want to see me cover!
For additional materials from this lesson like backing tracks and printable charts/tabs, check out my Patreon @ / musicwithmarky
    Gear used in video:
    Skerveson Raptor
The Music With Marky channel is dedicated to giving guitar students the guitar lessons they need to make good music. Each guitar lesson teaches guitar players how to play guitar in the most musical way possible. Shred guitar and guitar tricks are important, but great music is what makes all the guitar practice worth it!

I would like to see lessons too - along the lines of ‘Play in the style of X’ or ‘Things that X does that make him/her sound awesome’ maybe even extent it to bands with dual guitarists …. “How X sand Y play together to create this sound’. Each of these could be multi part lessons - so you don’t need to cram everything into 1 video.
Although there are any number of RUclips channels offering this type of content - I love your channel as I enjoy your presenting style and calm / patient demeanor - keep up the excellent work!

Might sound like cheese, but you could try artist technique in a small series. I know another creator that did a series on Angus Young techniques, ie. the finger roll etc. Adrian Smith definitely has some cool signature stuff. Prince could smoke the neck, yet never even got close to the recognition he deserved for his style. The list goes on....... However, I dig your attitude and method of conveying the content. You got a great channel.

I always wanted someone with expertise like you, show step by step, and I mean baby steps on How to set a home studio. I have been watching other channels but they don’t tell you what do you need and why? I have a few real amps and pedals but always wondering why everyone is using interphases and PC’s etc. I know you need a PC with good speakers, an interphase to connect the instrument but, I have no idea what a DAW is and it’s purpose, don’t know how you make the drums, the bass and get the tones etc. thank you!

I've been in a guitar rut lately. So I haven't been watching many guitar channels because of it. Life has been quite distracting and sometimes it feels like I'm doomed to suck at guitar forever.
I would love something that will really encourage me to pick up my guitar so I can finally learn to shred. I've been playing guitar for almost 20 years,. all self taught, and it's probably like trying to teach someone to drive stick when they've been driving go karts all their life.
What kind of content would that be? I don't know, unfortunately. I've paid for Samurai Guitarists and Rob Bakers guitar courses, but they didnt grab me at all. After watching a few videos I totally gave up. It wasn't even remotely motivating. That's a me problem for sure.
But I really enjoy your videos and If you can come up with something magical, I'll be along for the ride.

I've heard this type of thing from several players and I've touched on it here and there in different videos, but I think it would be good to do one centralized on it.
You give me an idea too. I think it will be cool to do like a zoom interview / talk with a guitar player who's feeling like you are and see if we can make any headway. There are questions I like to ask in these situations and it would be more fun to do it with a person who's actually feeling that way.
That said, do you have any interest in being on that zoom call and being on a video here?

@@MusicWithMarky that might be fun. I've considered your zoom lesson Patreon tier for ages, but time and money have just been crazy lately. What's the best way to communicate the idea?

@@MusicWithMarky Glad this post is only a day old. Was sitting here in my study, trying to learn Satch Boogie (and butchering it) and thinking, "I haven't seen a Music With Marky video in a while. I hope he's ok!" Glad to see that you are ok. What would I like to see? Given my current situation, how would you go about learning a song that is just outside your skill level. ie trying to stretch your boundaries.

There will be more! I've taken a break because I taught every basic lesson that I could think of and wanted to show and I didn't want to just rehash the same stuff.
I got some great ideas from comments here and have been working on upping my production skills. I want to be able to bring top quality. Consequently, the editing takes quite a bit more time, but I will be starting to post again this fall.
