I don't work on commercial very often but even the residential EEVs are a pain in the donkey. I don't recommend them to anyone getting a new system. Their unreliability kills any energy savings they might aquire..

When I was in the HVACR we ran preventive maintenance using staff that were not fully qualified but understood enough to test and pick up issues while carrying out the maintenance thus giving better service than company using people who could only change filters and some cleaning. We were able to quote competitively showing what we did for the money.

Great job that night with everything else you had going on you still took the time to spot check each system find and correct potential problems. I agree. Being a consistent (non-HVAC tech) I enjoy watching and then waiting until the end for explanation of stuff I didn’t understand during the video. The explanation clips during the video are what I would now describe as common sense. No hate here, just throwing my thought in. Keep the videos coming Chris!

    • @HighestRank
      @HighestRank 3 года назад

@@funneyguy25 you’ve misinterpreted: This ‘new’ format is still just video clips during the explanation. I can’t wait to witness the changeover when the format finally switches to explanation clips during the video, or even video explanation during the clips, but those refinements will take some time and efforts of a man or team who don’t lack so few job opportunities.

Microchannel condensers are very similar in construction to computer water cooling radiators.
They still use "tubes". They're just flattened out a lot more compared to a standard condenser.
Also, I like the new style of putting explanations throughout the video rather than lumping them all at the end recap.
I still watch to the end though. :)

You are most fortunate to have a wife that is understanding of you having to go out on last minute service calls and working long hours when you have to Chris! HVAC is a stressful occupation when it comes to family life! I remember early in my career being on a roof top in the summer time ! It was so hot if you touched anything with out gloves you would burn yourself and I thought people with normal jobs would be at the beach on vacation with their families but this is the time when you make money doing HVAC work! Most wife's or girlfriends would have little or no tolerance of that and be gone in a heartbeat! I remember those Sunday emergency calls and the whining and groaning your going to be gone today! How about spending time with me I have to go to work tomorrow! You love that job more than me I am out of here and her telling the kids daddy needs to grow up and get a real job 9 to 5 with weekends off and wear a suit and tie so he can spend time with us! You are so blessed Chris! In life you have to do what you have to do whether you like it or not in order to make it! I know there are lots of things that you would rather be doing than cleaning condensers on a roof top on Sunday Chris! This is a good talk to have with your young technicians!

Hey Chris, thanks for sharing first off. You are a wealth of information, encourage critical thinking, and I definitely try my best to bring your Big Picture diagnostic method with me in my customer's homes. For this video, I found the step away from your on-site footage jarring but the information provided very useful and important. May I suggest doing voice-over during a coil cleaning montage? Just an idea.
As an added note, I can't wait to visit California later this year so I can finally justify ordering from your site to avoid paying the shipping to Canada ($40 hat+$40 shipping =Yikes!)
Keep up the great work, and keep sharing the importance of doing something nice for your neighbours (even if they are strangers). I missed it this time around. 👍

People would be like, "But you're getting overtime. Isn't worth it?" It wasn't about the money, it's just frustrating how people put things off. And what I was dealing were safety problems that could potentially damage someone's home. I still work in the same industry, but I no longer do field work. lol

Honestly, i don't understand these places, not rinsing the condensors themselves at regular intervals, 30 minutes with a hose and wand every X months, would save them so much trouble and money. A lot easier to have someone rinse them off in the daytime, than to have to call you on a service call at night or in the weekend
If this was me, i would get a wand like your's and then do preventive rinsing well before they got this dirty. I bet the money spent, making one of the staff do this, would be well worth it, both in having NOT to call you to do emergency service, and also i bet the electric consumption goes up, when they are dirty or even plugged up.

I don't like this "explanations" in the middle of video, it is hard to skip it

The energy he was emitting in this video was a little overwhelming too

I never skip around, maybe it's because I have a slightly better than basic understanding of what he is doing and find it interesting to see and hear what's he found and why.

$4M is a drop in the bucket, even for restaurant chains on low profit, when those OT rates and last second part purchases will east through 4 mil easy.
Now.... as for restaurants all you need to look to is your local, state, and national government. I won't get political. They're strangling innovation for the sake of "equality." Which, to be fair, we will all be equally unemployed and starving in bread lines so there is that.

Why do you keep doing the pretend radio dj with headphones and a mike crap? Your videos are actually really interesting, you’re really good at talking through what is going on, so why the narcissistic pretend dj crap? You’re clearly better than that!

I wear the headphones so I can monitor my audio levels... with a mic like mine it's really easy to get to close and or too far from the mic so I have to stay on top of the levels

I think I'm the only one who is bothered by this, but why are you recapping everything about 2-3x during the video? Maybe there would be much more viewers which would make it till the end of the video, if you shorten those closing words by 3-6min 😅
