I’m so sorry you have lost your friends! I know that must be very hard. I’m from a conservative, not Old Order, yet still plain Brethren church, but we don’t shun. We believe people should be free to follow the convictions of their heart, and find Fellowship somewhere that is truly a good match for you. We see our church as a family, and we are sad if someone chooses to leave, but we still love you! We still want to have contact as much as the person will allow. I pray you both follow peace and find true peace, wherever the Spirit leads you! 💙🙏🏽💙

Do you ever feel like you were put at a disadvantage from other people in your education? What do you think about the reality TV shows about the Amish?
I have been loving your videos- extremely thought provoking. My family is former Mennonite. They left a few generations back. I have never been Mennonite, and have no ties to the community other than sometimes I wonder if I would have managed well in it or left. I always found it funny how people who are outside of the Mennonite (and Amish) culture idealize it so much. There is much that is good- true. The work ethic, many of the things taught, the focus on family and community. But there are many things that I feel people don’t see or understand. You address some of it- the gaps between what is Biblical versus what is human law, for instance. I have seen many unethical practices (puppy mills, for instance). How do you see the English/NonAmish way of romanticizing the culture?
This is interesting! I love the work ethic they have. I think Most people that romanticize it don’t fully understand the culture and everything that comes with it .
