    That music when you scan a lifespring was always one one of my top 5 (along with Prelude and Crossing the Bridge) and Bugenhagen's presentation was so excellent.
    I'm still pissed Barrett didn't get to see it.

      Not for me. The OG had a much deeper emotional impact than rebirth when RED XIII sees his father. Mostly because of the music. This one here, they change the music to be more uplifting and Nanaki's annoying voice was way too distracting.

    Yea the different timelines can get messy with the continuity. They acknowledged that somewhat with Biggs and Zack talking about Cloud and having different perceptions of him. We probably shouldn't overthink the Zack and Biggs story too much. It's not going to be easy for the writers to bring everything together in an elegant way. So when it comes to figuring out how to move the story forward, it's probably better to frame it by asking questions instead of making assumptions.
    Is the Zack/Biggs world the same one that Cloud and the gang defeated Fate at the end of Remake? I suspect it is.
    What are the bodies of Cloud/Aerith/Tifa/Barrett/Red doing in the Zack and Biggs world doing? Dreaming of the past? It doesn't seem like they any of them are actually dead.
    What is going on with Midgar and its interaction with the outside world? Rufus at the end of Remake could see the whispers when he was in the Shinra building, so I believe the arc Rufus takes in this version of the story will impact the gang and how the two worlds collide.
    If you remember the trailer to Rebirth, it literally states "The world will be saved. But will you?" So I think that provides the best clue about what direction SE is taking here.

    Possible Spoilers. I have not played further than until this Section with the GI after Seto so i might be wrong in some Parts and more Stuff gets explained.
    It could be that the Timeline they are in is not yet fully formed. Think they said something like that too… dunno. Think its like in Remake when the Devs kind of said the unknown Journey will continue because they too have not fully figured out how to do it. I also think Aerith used up Holys Magic when they go through the Black/White Whisper Wall because thats when she does „something“ and the Wall changes. Also… there is Lifestream Black and Lifestream White out there. Some Paragraphs from the Devs about what happens between OG FF7 and Advent Children. Its very enlightening in a Way. And on Top of that there is also Final Fantasy 10 as well. I know that one is a very far and loose Thought but… we know the World is the same (FF7 and 10). Its just many many many Years apart. Its not like there is an actual Connection here. Or that i think there is. But if you know about FF10 it kind of gives even more Insight i think. Kind of? Honestly i dont know how to further explain that. lol.

    I disagree. Rebirth treats the moment with Red the same way the OG version did with the same amount of reverence. Its certainly a neat backstory but there was never a lot of build up to it in either version. Cosmo Canyon in both were more important for world building which the OG only ever gave some snippets compared to what Rebirth gives. No disrespect to Red but his story always felt like a one and done deal and personally, I was way more intrigued by the Gi getting a full backstory with the added bonus on getting some real answers about Zack and Biggs surviving. Perhaps if there was better build up to Red's past in either version I'd be more inclined to agree that its almost "disrespectful" to not let the story rest a bit for Red's sake but I felt everything flowed more naturally the way it did. If anything , I thought it picked up better once Nattak showed up.
    The whole point of the dungeon beforehand was for Red to be reflective on his preconceived notions that culminated into the revelation about his father. While the scene is essentially shot for shot with the original, it already feels complete once Nanaki howls in honor of Seto. He even says he'll be back. Plus, these characters don't stop growing once these games end. There's still an entire game left to go so I don't subscribe to the idea that these characters aren't "allowed" to be sad in the moment just because plot needs to move forward. Barret DID sit with his friend's death and took out whatever he had left on Shinra. Nanaki DID come to terms with his ignorance because he literally saw what became of his father. His sorrow became conviction which almost mirrors Barret in a way too. They were allowed the time to be sad and they both chose to overcome that sorrow in the moment even though later on yiu can see it still effects them. It helps the theme of loss that the game has and how one handles it. So in short, I respectfully disagree on the take that Nanaki's moment was cut short. I believe they gave it more than enough time based on his character

      I think this entire segment is just as good as it was in the original game, if not better. The dungeon being made into a trial just for Nanaki was great, and I really liked Gi Nattak. I'm glad that whole village of the gi segment came after, it added a lot to cosmo canyon and I love how it characterized the Cetra/Gi. I just don't like how soon it happened. I wish it wasn't in the same cutscene, I wanted to sit there basking in the visuals and the music looking at Seto for a minute before taking a few steps away where Gi Nattak would THEN interrupt. After the Gi Nattak / Sephiroth cutscene the moment had passed for me.

    • @Soulferno
      @Soulferno 4 месяца назад +1

      @@linkshunter608 I personally found enough time had passed to still soak in what had just happened. If it was just Sephiroth appearing in Cloud's vision then I'd be inclined to agree because that would be a moment of the story actively detracting from Nanaki's moment. However, having not just a Gi but the literal leader of the Gi appear before all them, pay respect to Seto and address the whole group brings everything back to the team being relevant while still allowing things to be tied together to what just happened. Plus, Nanaki's involvement with everything doesn't end after the resolution about his father. More happens after in the main story and even side stories. But, that's all personal. I'm fine with a fast moving story so long as it's not at break neck speed. I personally don't find the moment to moment storytelling for this particular part to be an issue
