SA has a super good practice patch (Riri's practice tool) that allows you to not just practice spell cards, but also nonspells and stage portions. I don't like using several patches at once, because they can cause conflicts between each other (and the SA practice patch was a hell to install already), so I just stuck with the original version.
There is in fact no patch that works with it at all. Hardpatch needs its own exe and thpatch requires filesize to be identical. The only thing you could do is directly alter assets in the dat, but that doesn't allow you to properly do a translation patch afaik.
Congratulations on the LNN! To anyone who is currently strugling with SA, I want to point out the practice tool made by RIRI. It enables Midboss and Boss practice, which is super helpful. Orin went from being castratingly hard to genuinely fun to fight for me.
Mayhaps one would have a link to said tool I can't even get past stage two on easy without needing a continue (then again I haven't touched a 2hu game in Abt a year)

Hitboxes of big glowy bullets and "mentos" bullets are pretty small in SA. Also, Utsuho can never move down far enough to hit you if you bottomhug, as long as you stay straight under her. You can try it yourself.
