Arlyn Recording Studios Interviews with Lisa and Freddy Fletcher for MOMSR

Lisa and Freddy Fletcher with Austin's Arlyn Studios were interviewed by MOMSR's Directors Chris and Martin Theophilus. The interviews include Lisa and Freddy's histories and the history of the building Arlyn occupies. The Austin Opera House, was also known as the Terrace Motel and Convention Center, the Austin Convention Center, the Texas Opera House and the Austin Opry House. Willie Nelson lived in one of the Terrace apartments when he moved to Austin from Nashville. Ray Benson and Asleep At The Wheel officed in the Terrace apartments and in the area now occupied by Arlyn Studios. Freddy's Mom Bobbie Nelson played piano in the restaurant that was part of the Terrace complex. So the building and Arlyn have a rich history, as well as a world class studio. Arlyn has hosted performers including Bonnie Raitt, Frank Sinatra, Indigo Girls, Sublime, Neil Young, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Willie Nelson, Roy Orbison, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and many more. Russell Crowe completed his album in Arlyn just after he filmed Gladiator. Freddy also initiated the creation of ACL Live and the Moody Theater. Most recently Arlyn has begun shooting a series of video interviews hosted by Willie Nelson. The first segment included Dan Rather interviewing Willie and Merle Haggard.
