I left a comment under the BeLift Lab announcement video in support of BeLift and I was instantly attacked. It was so weird. I asked my friend to check if she could still see my comment, but it was gone within 30 minutes of posting it. I have never seen a comment section so vile before. The haters are literally flagging every supportive comment to push their narrative that the video backfired. I'm convinced that they're being paid to do this. A lot of the accounts have 100 plus comments and they seem to be only commenting on that video. This is such an obvious smear campaign.

I do not agree. What you are referring to is organized, corporate defamation. It is not simple defamation but a more serious crime, I believe; in Italy there is the crime of Abuse of popular credulity. But this does not mean that the individual hater should be left free to write any obscenity, also because we know well that on the Internet everyone copies everything. There are haters accounts that have hundreds of thousands of followers.

@@anneprendergast7834 True, but that's the beauty of tagging; it can be used to backtrack not just the people who jumped on a hate-train, but the people who started it rolling in the first place. With that, you can round up a major 'nest', as it were, in a fairly short time. And it wouldn't be too difficult to cross-reference with the company's database and find which of them are repeat offenders. HYBE particularly likes to crack down on those, and will probably prioritize them over first-timers or loners.

As an American, I am thankful for our freedom of speech. We, imho, have the most freedoms than anywhere else. We already have laws against hate speech (very specific: “Hate speech is any form of expression through which speakers intend to vilify, humiliate, or incite hatred against a group or a class of persons on the basis of race, religion, skin color, sexual identity, gender identity, ethnicity, disability, or national origin.), as well as laws for slander and libel. Hate speech is already defined by US law. The trouble with wanting MORE hate speech laws is the question of WHO would define what ‘hate speech’ is? Something I might feel is hate speech others might not and vice versa. I personally don’t want a small group of people having the right to decide what the majority of people can or can’t say. Libel and slander are hard to prove because you have to have proof of how it hurt your reputation/making a living/etc and those can be hard to prove, especially if you’re suing someone who’s reach is no where near the person suing. We can’t base laws (which have consequences when broken) on people’s feelings; everyone sees/feels things differently so the US laws were set up (as a democratic republic) to protect the majority from being ruled by the minority.

I think defamation of character is taken pretty seriously. also, Americans, don't take social media super seriously. WE tend to block and ignore. You tube is pretty good at taking things down if it's reported. What USA does not tolerate is raciest hate speech, or coordinated attacks. I have a feeling, after big 3 in korea wasn't successful in bringing BTS down while they are away before Jin got out, they got scared and started going after them again. I think due to festa, Hybe waited to go public until after festa.
I can't believe Blackpink's people still go after ARMY and BTS. The girls are seemingly friends with the guys. Some were even at Hobie's listening party. The fan hate from different groups in Korea is shocking to me. Many celebs have sued and won cases in the USA, but they usually settle out of court, and a NDA is signed, so you don't hear much about it.

I agree with your comment. Also, something a lot of people, especially those overseas need to understand is the difference legally between defamation of character & freedom of speech according to our laws. There's a huge difference in telling lies to damage an artist's reputation intentionally and simply expressing an opinion of why you don't like an artist. No US court would even hear a case because someone said "they have no talent, they can't sing", etc. As much as we're bothered by it, that doesn't constitute defamation or slander under our laws.

As far as SM companies being willing to divulge identities, that is almost immaterial. At the point that legal action is initiated, HYBE counsel would already have downloaded every bit of a defendant’s SM activity, posts, comments, connections, groups, etc.

You can't report a person because he doesn't like BTS's music. The defamation is about things like "they stole, they plagiarized", not their skills as musicians. Must be a comment about a CRIME or IMMORAL BEHAVIOR committed by BTS. Writing bad music is not a crime, so saying that BTS writes bad music is not defamation, it is music criticism, even if expressed in a rude manner.

Maybe some other companies should get involved and do the same with a few Korean users who go wild on RUclips (US company) and X (also US company), e.g. MODHAUS, where Korean fans are literally throwing stones at some of the members of tripleS because they dared to stay outside the dorm for a while in agreement with MODHAUS (closer to college, to be able to see their parents after 2 years or simply because their health has suffered in the now more than 2 years) without having to leave the group temporarily, as is common in other companies (how long has Lia from ITZY been out?).It's actually not that difficult to understand. But discuss this with Korean fans. They say it's Korean culture. Is that so? It's clerarly Idol culture and this is a total different topic.

I say that because I have a lot of respect for every idol. @@Purplelace777 He generally takes a 'it could be true, it could be false, I don't know' attitude, which is worse than taking a stand one way or another, because it encourages people to keep thinking it could be true.
He has very little actual knowledge of BTS, does virtually no research on them. That's deliberate. This way he can use ignorance as his defense when people call him out. It also allows him to leave out past history and evidence that would clarify 'whether it's true or not'.
And he does get comments clarifying the situation, but the majority of comments are from haters taking the hostile approach and uninformed people saying 'Wow, that's bad.' There've been some spectacular fights in the comments between ARMYs and haters.
His was one of the first channels I ran into when I got into BTS. That was in 2020, and he's still doing now what he did then. He's had *years* to improve and learn; any number of people have told him to quit the clickbait and do his research properly. And he doesn't. He'd rather clickbait, play ignorant, pretend that he's the voice of reason, and knowingly spread hostility and insults with the vague, 'Well, I don't know if this is true or not' because it gets him views.

First I want to say, I don’t believe in bullying I don’t believe in targeting artists for their looks music nationality etc; I do believe that artist should not be involved in politics of any Country unless it’s their own. Once you involve yourselves in politics it’s open season people will not like this. Everyone has different beliefs and opinions. I don’t believe in lots of things that artists believe in it’s my choice and opinion and they have their own choices and opinions. This I’m saying because I have many actors and artists in my Country that involve themselves in the politics and try and push opinions and bully people. I Wanted to say this as everyone knows Americans or Westerners Strongly believe in the First Amendment. This could be a double edged sword. I believe this Amendment should be respected and enforced, protected. If we didn’t have people that had or have the courage to speak and ( this part is tricky) tell the truth and have the freedom of speech to say or talk, then would we become a part or be socialists or communists. Right now our democratic government is trying to suppress freedom of speech. Right this exact moment the woke or leftist are against the right or far right. Here I am, I believe in freedom of speech I believe that no one should have access to my personal information or property. I believe that i should have the right to voice my opinions. I personally would argue and be highly offended that someone is trying to change the Constitution the First Amendment with a small legal win to try and Amend the Constitution of the United States 🇺🇸. This battle will a hard one. I think it is wasteful hard earned money trying to change a way of life. I believe in freedom. If you don’t have freedom of speech where does it stop. I know my statement will upset people. Right now with all the turmoil going on in our Country I don’t think it’s a good idea. But, I eat drink think sleep BTS they are in my blood and heart. I just don’t agree with this lawsuit I will be judged for my opinion, but it is my opinion. I am a hardcore Republican that loves BTS and believes in freedom of speech and expression of our Country, but I Do Not Believe in Bullying or Violence Against a Race Religion Gender Nationality Color I Don’t Believe in Discrimination I don’t Believe in Hate. But I strongly do not like our democratic government

You are correct. If that is happening and when it happens it needs to stop. But then you will bring censorship into every platform. I used to be a total fanatic about football. Since I was a kid, on FB. People don’t usually post age sometimes not even genders. When people used to friend me, I would search their profile just on fb, because I would only except my team & football, no nasty etc, I noticed a 13 yr old wanted to friend me. I didn’t care because kid was a football guru. But, people would pick on him. I had to have a Hugh discussion about bullying this kid. No one knew he was a kid. But, idols and artists are different you see who they are. But, sometimes you can’t tell age. People will take into account the dress or outfits and judge. I know it’s not nice but everyone does it every Country every race. People were really upset with a performer from the states that danced with BTS. Lots got pretty derogatory.
If regulated worse is possible because only certain groups will be censored.
Right now in the USA the gov lost 80,000 kids. From immigrants crossing the border 80,000 children. There were arguments on the congressional floors about these lost kids? Republicans asked democrats they refused to answer. When there was a fire in Hawaii children were lost half were found nothing was said about the ones that weren’t found. Do you know there are 19 million immigrants that have crossed the border. They get free four star hotels free food free money free healthcare. Do you know Americans are suffering from inflation can’t afford gas food homes and there are homeless American families? No why not cause it’s censored news media won’t talk about it. The fire in Hawaii can’t remember the town but the water was shut down lots of crazy things happened the people were blocked from leaving a burning city. House burned families lost. There were the wealthy and famous artists/people that had the roofs of their houses painted blue. Crazy thing is everything that was blue in this city did not burn. Did you all hear about this in the news. Nope their own people from Hawaii videotapes and place on platforms. Only media commentators told these stories not news media. Why it was censored why I don’t know. Has anyone kept up with what’s happening in the rap and hiphop industry lately? Most people haven’t even heard about this why because media is censored. You only get the truth from individual platforms, these people will be censored that give and bring the truth will be censored. News media in the USA doesn’t tell the truth anymore. All I’m saying are the bad people will not be censored and the good will. Right this minute there are thousands of predators online. Have you heard about what’s being taught in elementary and middle schools the books that are available to kids. I know what you are saying but, I don’t think it will have the impact with what hybe wants not in the US. I not only follow BTS hardcore cause I love their Music and who they are what stand for. I listen to congressional and senate meetings I read listen to politics etc; as much as I listen to BTS. Politics irritate me BTS calms me down I listen to both at the same time. Remember Black Lives Matter. The lady that ran the foundation lived large her family lived large they threw lavish parties. They bought a house with millions for the Black Lives Matter movement. I don’t even know why the house was purchased. The money is gone ask any person that could have used it needed any of that money if it was available. All I’m saying again is the end result won’t be what is expected. Hopefully I’m wrong in all of this. I’m always with BTS just don’t agree with this

These children were not traveling with families. They were taken and moved into areas where the kids were being held. This was discussed in a congressional meeting where a senator asked a Democratic Party about these missing children. The democrats would not answer the questions. As for blk lives matter it’s fact check sources in internet or any social media, this was also under investigation. My information is quite accurate according to these hearings. As for the legal entries of immigrants prior to our borders being opened are legal and gave nothing to do with what I’m talking about.
