Excellent and highly recommend this video. My 13" MacBook air 2020 needed a A2337 replacement battery. I was quoted £178 by a local shop for parts and labour for this job. I decided to buy the battery from Amazon new for £55 and used this video to install it myself. The video is meticulously presented and I completed the job myself in less than 70 minutes - a helpful tip:- do run the full video before starting the job, and then use it, pausing periodically to complete each task. Good luck.
Take your time pulling out the adhesive tabs, so they don't break off! The speaker adhesive stretches to about 12 inches before it is out. Slow and steady. 😊
Went to my local apple approved store , quoted me $800, INSANITY!!!!! I told them might as well buy a new laptop.Decided to take the plunge and be out of the 140 if i didn't end up fixing it. BUT LOOK AT ME WITH A NEW BATTERY AND A CHARGED COMPUTER !!! HA ! To those freakin tech guys ! Gouging people for money and it only took me an hour ! bajdfahskbfjkdsabfkjasdh Im so proud of myself. Thank you for your videos, you're a real one doing all the good work out here !!!!! ooo im so happy
That’s awesome! We're thrilled to hear that the battery replacement worked so well for you and that you installed it in just an hour! It’s always rewarding to see your hard work pay off, and it sounds like you’re back up and running smoothly. Enjoy your revitalized Mac!
big fan of OWC and I appreciate that they make this replacement kit available a few thoughts on the process, which I completed successfully 1) a few of the T3 screws required a bit of extra force for the screwdriver to seat into the head, nothing crazy but more than I wanted to apply, it seems the tolerances were a bit off on the screwdriver 2) the included screwdrivers do not have the type labeled anywhere on them, e.g. "pentalobe" "T3" and "T4" they do have a brand name on them so adding it should be easy 3) the command strip style adhesive strips required very gentle and slow pulling to prevent them from snapping, they stretch out to over a foot long before releasing I needed to us some heat from a hair dryer and some carefully placed acetone (nail polish remover) on the underside of the left speaker to release it after the adhesive strip snapped it two with no way to reach it thanks, OWC, the repair was made and I saved myself from having to drive an hour to the Apple Store twice and leave my computer with them for 3 days as well as over $100
It's great to hear that you were able to successfully complete the replacement process with the kit from OWC! We appreciate your detailed feedback on the experience, including the issues you encountered with the screws and adhesive strips. We'll certainly take these points into consideration for future improvements to our products. If you have any further questions or need assistance in the future, don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help!
Thank you for this video. I was able to replace the battery. I do want to point out that I think the adhesive instructions for the speakers are flawed. The adhesive tabs should be visible when the speakers are installed; otherwise, there's no way to pull the adhesive if you get a bad battery or need to replace it again in a couple of years.
Yes, that's correct. When you replace the battery, the battery sensor should register as 100% in your system. If you encounter any issues or have further questions, please don't hesitate to let us know.
Those adhesive strips are an effing nightmare.🙄 No matter how carefully-yet-steadily I pulled, they snapped off leaving me sweating for 90 mins just trying to prise the reluctant speaker sections away from the housing. The way the strips so neatly come off your pristine MBA in this video makes me think you’re demonstrating on a brand new laptop! Your video is well put together and has excellent camera work; may I ask though that in _future_ videos you cover glitches like this that anyone with an older machine is likely to bump up against, as it’s those very people who are likely to be watching your guide - not someone with a new laptop - as they’re covered by warranty ofc.
I really dont understand why companies insist on gluing batteries onto the chassis. I have a laptop thats as slim and sleek as a macbook, the battery is screwed on. I can change a battery in less than 10 minutes z

I remember buying Mac PPC G3 and G4 zif socket upgrades from OWC more than 20 years ago.

We can pass along that suggestion for our instructions. Thank you for that information!
Brilliant video, thanks - quick & easy!
Super erklärt, danke. Hat Super geklappt.
Will it again show battery health as 100% ?

what can I use instead of adhesive strips? is double sided tape going to work?
We do not recommend using something other than the adhesive strips that are provided for this installation.

I just tried on two (used) laptops - one worked very well, just like the video, the other one more difficult
@@tuba5077what did you do when the adhesive was broken?
@@MoK86 My motto is 'good enough'. Used whatever available. Afterwards you tighten the bottom anyways. That said, I think you can also buy strips.

Cause it’s an Apple dude
Is this the same for a i3 2020 MacBook Air?
We do offer another video on our site for the intel 2020 MacBook Air. eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/BAP13MBAR55K/#videos

Can you please let us know how to get an authentic new battery for Macbook pro m1?
From what we're aware of there is no way to replace any M1 Mac components.
I lost it at needing to remove the speaker too, I'll just send it into apple
