- 🏍️ Strap in for an adrenaline fuelled ride as we dive into the heart of the action at Round 1 of the 2024 WorldSBK Championship in picturesque Phillip Island, Australia! 🌊
First and foremost, physically I’m ok, I hit my hip quite hard in the crash but no further injuries from Tuesday.
They were two big crashes this week but I’m still in one piece thanks to Alpinestars and Arai. I’m really frustrated because the crash came as a big surprise, it was as I was building my confidence on the bike and feeling quite good. I took some “track profit” when Toprak had engine troubles and found myself in a good place in the race, but as soon as I started to feel really confident I crashed.
We just have to rebuild from zero, look into everything and try to improve the feeling for me. You can see with how competitive Loka is that we can get there - I want to go home now to regroup, reset and come back stronger in Barcelona.

Andrea has shown, the bike is good, so it will come, Johnny and you will be battling them at the sharp end.

@@mackrol458 Andrea was out of luck with that false neutral in race 2 but it does show the bike is there its going to take Jonny time to unlock what makes the R1 tick it is different to what he's been used to with the nimble ZX10RR but if anyone can crack the code its Jonathan Rea. Bad weekend but can't write him off lets see where everyone is at the next one next month

As a sports coach, I focused on the 3 abilities every winning athlete needs. 1. The ability to do the sport. 2. Physical fitness. 3. Mental fitness. It seems glaringly obvious to me that you have 1 & 2 honed to perfection. You just need your R1 and your mind to BOTH be in gear. “Dump the demons and release the racer!”
You forgot one important point and without it you have no chance. That is a bike that is competitive and ridable to your style, his bike does not appear to be that at the moment. He must be gutted that his old teammate won one of the races.
I think he's got all 3 dialled in perfectly, it's all part of learning a new bike. The trick is to not let doubt creep in, previous race means nothing because next time you can be taking the win, never focus on past

Johnny never stop believing, I remember having good day's and really shity days at the motocross but It can all turn around so quickly again. The level is so high now and riders coming from motogp paddock with totally different riding styles makes it so much harder .Hopefully you'll find the key to making the bike and you become one soon mate. 💪👊

The change to the R1 was always going to take a bit of fettling of the bike to get it to where its your bike and also a bit of fettling to your mind to make it so.
