That was a bit dangerous from Toprak. He lost momentum because of running wide. For him to go back on track in front of a faster bike on the racing line is a bit irresponsible. He is the one who went off the racing line, surely he can't claim anything.
He didn't leave the track though. He got off line but you say reentering the track like he was completely off track. He held the very outside and rea tried to push him off the track. I think rea thought he was about to completely run off track so he thought he had the line

I think TopRak was still technically " in bounds " so to speak. He was off line, but not off track. I see it as a racing incident. Rea, was surely looking through the turn and not aware that TopRak was still on track and looking to hold an outside line upon which Rea started to encroach upon. Rea was behind TopRak, so he probably wouldn't imagine Rea to be so far into his line as he started to collect things in the turn.

they should put the riders in reversed position on the next race. the first finisher on the last position and last finisher on the first position. point system should be changed also to efficiently reward the riders according to how they finished. the most fun part of these races anyway is the overtaking, having the fastest rider on the last position means there will be more overtaking and more fun to watch. also, slow riders on the last position will stay on the last position as they get caught in traffic which will add up to them being slow. faster and more talented riders will be able to hack their way in those traffics and will be able to slowly go up the rankings. eventually, the faster riders will get in to the 1st position in the series then the cycle starts all over again.

He should've known he was going to be overtaken as he made a mistake and lost speed. It's the same as leaving the door open going into a turn, someone will dive up on the inside. If he truly believes that he wasn't going to be overtaken by someone after that mistake then he's underestimating the others and thinks he's at a track day instead.

All the riders giving 110%, and we watch the two dusty ex-leaders totter around behind the trucks. Brilliant. Oh joy, then they show them parked in car seats looking at a clip board. Oh the lucky viewers! Wonderful shot of said dusty hero being doubled slowly back to the truck on a 650 Verseys. Oh the excitement. Guess there was zero worth seeing on track then, only the middle laps of the best superbikes and riders all the bike companies can possibly come up with. The race shots just slowly zoomed in ever closer until we couldn't even see where the riders were on the track. How many of the decent sized start grid were still running? Couldn't tell you, never saw a whisper of the following 15 or whatever riders. What's this guy know about racing, I can hear you asking. Ok a lot, including 100 laps of Assen on a nicely set up GSXR750. Was doing 25 seconds slower than the best present WSBK lap, all day. Oh he's so slow. Very much so. That's all there was on a very stock 750 with 105 kgs of me on board. It did have new DOT legal M Pilots, so that helped of course. All the skinny racers loved my draft on the front straight. Anyway, still really enjoy seeing all the new great jockeys battling away. Especially on the Kawasakis. Long time fan.

Yes. it was racing incident but could have been avoided by JR easily as he was behind Toprak with a clear sight seeing where Toprak was on the track. JR tought Toprak would go off the track which was kind of stupid thing to do. If there is a chance the rider would try to stay on the track always. In this circumstances, Toprak managed to stay on the track , but by not risking other drivers ride at all. JR just pushed too much unnecessarily.

It is hard to imagine riding on the ragged edge for all those laps. A battle for the lead for most of the race is a huge bonus.

It's no different than how it was in the 90s if you ask me. The top 3 or 4 always opened up a huge gap and raced themselves all day.
