I don't know about anyone else but I'm gonna give you a "thumbs up"! This is like many of my own projects over the years - CBE - crude but effective. I agree serrations would be helpful and make the thumb more versatile.
i am pretty hard on things and i tore the steel on the backhoe. the weld didnt break, but it is so handy its worth the time. i think for 150 buck you can buy one off ebay.
i have a jahovas witness temple 1/4 mile from me and they were constantly knocking on my door. i became totally irate and went off on them. im now on the do not knock list lol.
Tip for torch shut off, always turn off the gas/ acetylene before the you shut off the oxygen. Excess gas in tour he can explode. I really like your videos!

i tried to show in the video some fails at first and then toward the end the torch work is like it should be. thats real life . i dont think anyone can be proficient with something when not being practiced on a regular basis.
@@mikekisch5563 I confess,, I did not watch the whole video,, :-),,,, It usually takes me about 10 to 15 minutes to clean up a ratty tip,, as long as it has not been used as a hammer,,, With a tip facing tool and a new set of tip cleaners,, I can get a cutting stream that is 6 to 8 inches long,,, When you get to that point, the torch will make a very special sound when pressing the cutting handle,,

I have a thumb on my 38hp Kubota and it makes the whole machine 1000Xs more versatile. Beautiful work you'll love it.
