Listen, I was listening to rap when you had to stay up past midnight just to catch it on college radio over 30 years ago. That kid is legit, his voice is legit, and he is what hip hop used to be about. I wish nothing but the best for him.

I don't think he's lame, I think he just usually swear a lot when flow freestyle m, as 90% of freestyle rappers do, but he couldn't do it on tv, so he had to come up with something totally different from what he's used to.

He curses when he wants to his minimal bad language is due to his fan of MF DOOM who is a notorious pop culture abstract hiphop lyricist that is looked up to by many mainstream rappers. Afro has eps dedicated to DOOM's style. MF Doom rarely curses in his music as well.
He was extremely nervous, type in A-F-R-O freestyle if you want to hear a clearer and better freestyle in my opinion. I'm glad he's getting his shine
