Without webbed toes, it doesn't do him much good, but it doesn't hinder him either. Many sled dogs love swimming, so it isn't to do with the type of dog he is, but a little extra buoyancy might be very welcome.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that, but if your dog was like Milky he must've been very beautiful & sweet, & you must have lovely memories of him :) Did he agree with Milky that swimming's not for sled dogs? The 1st dog was a labrador, not a retriever, & s/he reminded me soooo much of my family dog swimming at the beach that I had tears in my eyes, even tho she passed away over 20yrs ago. Pets are wonderful :)

Life jacket did not work for milky.. if you go through their old videos, they tried it on him.. the fact is Milky hate swimming 😄😄.
