You're right she might not get the recognition she deserves for this superb meticulously crafted body of work simply because its too black. I love that about the album and appreciate the album even more because its speaks to the African diaspora as a whole. But of course white society wants to silence black pride and black truth. This definitely deserves awards and accolades but if this doesn't get it we know why.
This album is a sonically beautiful experience. My first listening was last night after the movie. I went home and sat in a darkened room with earphones. It took me back to my first trip to Africa, where I was able to emerge myself into the beauty of African culture.
