    Great video! I recently compared these two and went with the Quicrun in my Kraton 4s. Fits the 3d printed mounting plate for the G8 I ordered and gets the job done well! About to order another one for a Outcast 4s I just picked up. I have bad luck with Spektrum electronics so they get swapped for Hobbywing right away! Hobbywing products are great, customer service ehhhh, not so great, but who cares about that when their stuff just works! Thanks for confirming and running them side by side! Subscribed/liked!

      Thank ypu for ypur comment, agree the hobbywing stuff much better than spectrum in my opinion. Luckilly here in UK if we have issues we go through retailer rather than manufacturer, which makes things easier, i was suprised and still feel the Quickrun is the best buck for your money 👍 hopefully some new content coming soon, thank you

      @RippinBlastinSlashin I have the Outcast v2 2.5 and I want to upgrade as well. You had no problem fitting the G8 the Outcast? Do you have the center diff or the slipper clutch? Thx

  • @matthiaser399
    @matthiaser399 9 месяцев назад +3

    Thank you for this comparison. There should be actually more reasonable and unbiased comparisons like this out there. I do have the Max 8 G2 with a sensored motor, but so far I am not convinced that it is worth the money. As you noticed, even sensorless motors do perform very well driving slow, so where's the point?

    • @RCvapor
      @RCvapor  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for your comment, yeah i am suprised how much better the cheaper esc performs, and your right sensorless esc's are gaining ground on sensored, i feel that unless your crawling or racing there really isnt much need for a sensored setup, i have oredered the pro Bluetooth programme card, so will see if any updates improve the max 8 in un sensored mode. Update video will follow 👍

      @@RCvapor and in case you need another project: it would be really interesting if there is a noticable difference between various motors: Kuron, Quicrun, Ezrun, BLX... I am looking forward to your next videos!

      @RCvapor so I used the quickrun 2000 kv motor. It's a snug fit but I'm able to run a 20 tooth pinion with stock spur. This thing flys!

    I have both systems they are both powerful but I like sensored better. Max 8 g2 runs much better sensored and make sure firmware should be updated and quicrun 8bl system tends to run hot .

    • @RCvapor
      @RCvapor  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah agree the max 8g2 runs better sensored, although had to use old firmware to run better sensorless, never had an issue with the 8bl g2 running hot, i use in my asuga that is overgeared and on 6s, works great 👍🏻

    Great video. It helped me decide on ordering the quickrun 2000kv combo from my local hobby shop. It's going to go in a Typhon 6s turned into a Senton 6s with JConcepts body most likely. Hopefully, it will be powerful enough with the added weight of aluminum bulkheads and center chassis braces. All I have is a Tekno 16T pinion for it. Ran one time.

    The BLX 185 is essentially an 8BL150. Everyone’s always talked about how reliable the 185 is. This is better than the Max8 and the new Firmas that Horizon’s been putting in their 1:8 scale vehicles, in my opinion.

    • @RCvapor
      @RCvapor  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah agree the old blx 185 is more reliable than the new firmas 👍 the 8bl150g2 has some great new features over the blx. Such as ip67 waterptoof, better snd larger capacitors and more tuning options, plus keeping the same reliability imo 👍
