Great video! I recently compared these two and went with the Quicrun in my Kraton 4s. Fits the 3d printed mounting plate for the G8 I ordered and gets the job done well! About to order another one for a Outcast 4s I just picked up. I have bad luck with Spektrum electronics so they get swapped for Hobbywing right away! Hobbywing products are great, customer service ehhhh, not so great, but who cares about that when their stuff just works! Thanks for confirming and running them side by side! Subscribed/liked!
Thank ypu for ypur comment, agree the hobbywing stuff much better than spectrum in my opinion. Luckilly here in UK if we have issues we go through retailer rather than manufacturer, which makes things easier, i was suprised and still feel the Quickrun is the best buck for your money 👍 hopefully some new content coming soon, thank you
Hobbywing made the old blx stuff, as far as the new spectrum esc's i dont know, what i do know is they charge dpuble the price and in my experiance i have had more issues with there electronics, you know this 100% ?
@RippinBlastinSlashin I have the Outcast v2 2.5 and I want to upgrade as well. You had no problem fitting the G8 the Outcast? Do you have the center diff or the slipper clutch? Thx
Thank you for this comparison. There should be actually more reasonable and unbiased comparisons like this out there. I do have the Max 8 G2 with a sensored motor, but so far I am not convinced that it is worth the money. As you noticed, even sensorless motors do perform very well driving slow, so where's the point?
Thank you for your comment, yeah i am suprised how much better the cheaper esc performs, and your right sensorless esc's are gaining ground on sensored, i feel that unless your crawling or racing there really isnt much need for a sensored setup, i have oredered the pro Bluetooth programme card, so will see if any updates improve the max 8 in un sensored mode. Update video will follow 👍
@@RCvapor and in case you need another project: it would be really interesting if there is a noticable difference between various motors: Kuron, Quicrun, Ezrun, BLX... I am looking forward to your next videos!
Also the mounting plate that came with esc fits perfectly in slash ultimate. I did have to move receiver up to front of truck by shock tower above servo. So far so good
I have both systems they are both powerful but I like sensored better. Max 8 g2 runs much better sensored and make sure firmware should be updated and quicrun 8bl system tends to run hot .
Yeah agree the max 8g2 runs better sensored, although had to use old firmware to run better sensorless, never had an issue with the 8bl g2 running hot, i use in my asuga that is overgeared and on 6s, works great 👍🏻
Great video. It helped me decide on ordering the quickrun 2000kv combo from my local hobby shop. It's going to go in a Typhon 6s turned into a Senton 6s with JConcepts body most likely. Hopefully, it will be powerful enough with the added weight of aluminum bulkheads and center chassis braces. All I have is a Tekno 16T pinion for it. Ran one time.
I also turned my typhon into a senton, I also used JCONCEPTS body😅. 44t spur 23t pinion running stock spektrum electronics, can't remember the punch but im sure it's all the way up😂. Wicked fast smokes Mojaves and maxx slash on just 4s.
Been having similar issue with my max8 g2 even in sensored mode. Tried updating firmware with no luck. Max6 g2 was also having the same issue but havnt tried a firmware update on that yet
The BLX 185 is essentially an 8BL150. Everyone’s always talked about how reliable the 185 is. This is better than the Max8 and the new Firmas that Horizon’s been putting in their 1:8 scale vehicles, in my opinion.
Yeah agree the old blx 185 is more reliable than the new firmas 👍 the 8bl150g2 has some great new features over the blx. Such as ip67 waterptoof, better snd larger capacitors and more tuning options, plus keeping the same reliability imo 👍
Great video buddy , I’ve been looking at the 8bl150 G2 and I have the max 8G2 I’m about to start a build and wanted something more budget oriented, Mind made up I’m going to order the 8bl150 G2 Stay awesome Chris 🤙🚀👍
@@RCvapor throttle response is a lil better in the Max8 but for twice the price idk... You can get a max 6 here for 10 bucks more than the max 8 ..just got for that lol
Great video. Awesome format of information delivery at the beginning. Thank you.
Thank you, appreciate the comment 🙏😊
Great information and video. Great to see comparisons and them fans . I need to learn more on what you saying about senseless ect
Thanks
Cheers mate 👍, i would say sensored are fantastic for when you need smooth driving, most rc racers use sensored systems, thank you for watching 👌

Im hoping the 8bl150 is gonna work for my first speed run/street basher. I'm looking to get it for my street slash
Should work great what motor will you be using ?
Also curious what motor you plan to use. I'm looking at this esc for a Slash 4x4
@RCvapor so I used the quickrun 2000 kv motor. It's a snug fit but I'm able to run a 20 tooth pinion with stock spur. This thing flys!
Also the mounting plate that came with esc fits perfectly in slash ultimate. I did have to move receiver up to front of truck by shock tower above servo. So far so good
Max g8 will run a 3668 2850kv?! Thznk you for the présentation
Just miss this info !

Labor Day sale. Hobbywing Max 8 G2s with 4268 2500kv motor for less than $150 😎. The 4278 is out of stock.

Glad you found helpfull 👍 should be perfect for your setup, sounds like a cool project, wish they still made the senton 6s. Was a great platform 👍

Strange how its happening on sensored mode too 🤔 definitely some issues with these new max g2's

@@RCvapor Interesting. I was told that the 185 was just a detuned 8BL150 but they’re essentially the same. That’s good to know, though.
I have not had a problem with my quicrun systems at all! I have 3!
Me neither, great esc's fir the money 👍🏻
Great video buddy , I’ve been looking at the 8bl150 G2 and I have the max 8G2

Stay awesome
Chris 🤙🚀👍
Cheers pal 👍 glad you found useful, yeah the 8blg2 is a fantastic esc for the money, been using on a weekly basis in my Asuga & works perfectly 👌
😁👍
Think i shall be saving myself the 30quid lol.
Yeah the 8bl 150 g2 is a great esc for the money 👍
Hi m8 can the 8bl150 be programmed with the set button on the esc or do you need a program card?
Yea you need programme box card mate, the cheap £10 programme cards work with this one.
Great test vid! Nice job.
Cheers 👍
The g2 is not bad being 160amp but like u said unless u have the Bluetooth module its shit, get the cheaper one for bashing sod it lol 😂😂😂
Yes mate, the 8bl150g2 is a bargain, my Asiuga rips with it 👍😀
Will the 10bl150 work smoothly with an 1800kv 4585 hobbystar motor?
The 8bl150g2 will work fine with motors below 2400kv and up to 4274 motor, although should work ok with your motor 👌
4:32 why would the max 8 take more abuse?
Has a higher ampage rate, plus if you use as sensored it will run smoother and put less strain on motor and esc
@@RCvapor but like for just sending it like it's the same durability right?
Yeah if anything the 8bl150g2 is probably better for bashing, less to go wrong 😁 plus doesnt seem to get as hot as the max 8 g2
what battery did you use?
Im using cnhl batteries in all my rigs 6000mah 120c x2 3s
In America the Max8 is double the price
Crazy, seeing as performance wise, not much in it imo, for me the 8bl150g2 is a great choice for 4 and 6s rigs 😁

Get the esc updated, do a come back video.
Subbed and liked👍 👍 👍 👍
Thank you, new pro programme card on way, had to order from USA as not out here in uk yet, will do an update video once i receive it 👍
@@RCvapor will look out for your video.
