Cleaning the most disgusting convertible top ever on a Mini Cooper S R52

I bought this Mini Cooper S with a convertible top in a really bad shape. It looks like it has never been cleaned and looks like there is a garden growing on top of. Yikes.
Even when the endresult wasn't what I was hoping for, still it is nice to see what proper cleaning does. I used Ultramar products, but I bought them myself. Thus no sponsoring of any kind!
Step 1: Vacuum the top
Step 2: Make the top wet with warm water
Step 3: Apply shampoo on the wet top and brush with a soft brush
Step 4: Rinse the top to remove shampoo and grime
Step 5: Spray it with Power cleaner and brush
Step 6: Soak for 1 hour. No change? More Power cleaner and go back to step 5
Step 7: Wait for my next video where I try something different

@@Siemi1 but if you used the right products and cleaned it properly you wouldn’t need to change the top.

@@woodswork I did use the best available product for the job. But that didn't get it done. Afterwards I asked a local specialist on top cleaning (and leather restauration) for what more I could do. Also no showable improvement. If you have any advice, please share, since after the winter I will most likely fall for another Mini project :-).
BTW, I would replace the top anyway, since it wasn't in the best shape. The all suffer from wear (and holes) and this one wasn't any different.

For that amount of dirt and grime u have to allow the product to sit, also using a bowl of water to pour was doing nothing.....ever....u defo needed a pressure washer on a low enough setting slong with some stiffer brushes to agitate the roof, yes u may have had issues with wear and tear on the roof but that wasn't an excuse for such a bad job. My roof was similar to urs and it came out looking pretty good.

No disrespect to the person who did this video, but he has absolutely no idea how to clean a fabric convertible roof. I just hope that nobody follows these instructions, because you will be ruining your fabric.

there is no quick way to do this, wet an area, scrape it off as much as you can with your finger nail, then a nylon nail or detailing brush, then a tooth brush as the nylon used gets smaller. it's just a case of many days or weeks of work. you have to put your back into it, period.......
